feraltrucker22 said:I stopped by their shop on Friday, and I have to admit, the pastries are fantastic. I’m planning on ordering some treats and a cake from them, but the pricing isn't exactly $22 70 dollars. At least, that's what they quoted me, and the specific cake I need will end up costing $667...

It sounds like they've bumped up their prices quite a bit lately. But then again, you saw firsthand how delicious everything is, so I don't think you'll regret it. If you went to one of those high-end bakeries in downtown Chicago, you'd be paying even more! Personally, I think their pricing is pretty fair compared to other places, especially since their cakes and treats are so tasty. 👍

So, I ordered some cookies from this lady over in SV $15. Honestly? They’re incredible—you can really taste the farm-fresh eggs and local milk in every bite! Are you guys actually suggesting I go with Smile? I’ve only just started hunting for a cake, so I am definitely adding her place to my list.

Ethan Martin79 said:Does anyone have any leads on where I can find a cake topper? I’m looking for something specific—a bride and groom either riding bicycles together or just hanging out next to one.

Is there anyone out there who actually does custom orders like this?

thx 🙏

Maybe eBay? Or somewhere else... 😁

I found this one version that's kinda morbid, but honestly, I kind of love it:

Or maybe something like:

I’m planning on having everything grilled right alongside the corn—and yes, naturally, there will be cake involved too, since we’re talking about summer cookouts here—so here are a few of my absolute favorites 😍

And hey, driftingtrucker22, listen—I actually decided on the kale theme too, both for the flowers and the cake! Seriously, tell me where you're getting the treats from, and which florist did you end up picking???? Are you maybe living in Washington, D.C.?? Because I've got a bunch of pictures related to the kale vibe (for the floral arrangements AND the cake)!!!! Also, I'm dreaming of having a cake on those tiered stands that cascade down beautifully!!!!! Any recommendations??????😕🙂

Eh, don't even ask... I honestly have no clue anymore.🤷
Just search "wedding cakes" on Google and you'll find plenty.😉Try looking through image results instead of just browsing websites.

Some fresh updates....

Emma stopped by the local statistics office in a small town in the Midwest yesterday to check on the pricing for those cookies...

They're quoting $30/kg...but if you pick up more than 15 kg, the rate drops to $27/kg...

Seems way too steep for me...👎

I can't believe I even have to say this, but since nobody seems to be listening—seriously, does anyone actually read these threads?—let me lay it out one more time. I’m looking at what Michael Ramos10 was saying earlier, and honestly? It’s pure nonsense. Just complete, unadulterated nonsense. You can't just walk around claiming things are "fine" when we all know the system is practically held together by duct tape and prayers at this point. And don't even get me started on the stuff Mark Kelly4 was posting about the recent policy shifts. It's laughable. Truly. They act like everything is being handled with surgical precision, but it feels more like a toddler playing with a chemistry set. There’s a massive disconnect between what the people in Washington, D.C. are deciding and what's actually happening on the ground in places like a small town in the Midwest. It’s frustrating—no, it’s infuriating—to watch this play out while everyone else just shrugs their shoulders. Look, I'm not trying to be the "angry person" in the room—though clearly, that's my role now—but someone has to call this out. We see the patterns. We see how these decisions ripple out and hit regular Americans right where it hurts. It’s not just a minor hiccup; it’s a systemic failure. If you think otherwise, you're either willfully ignorant or you're just not paying attention. And frankly, if you aren't paying attention, why are you even here? kaže:
Ugh, don't even get me started... honestly, I haven't the slightest clue anymore.🤷
Seriously, just go to Google and type in "wedding cakes." I’m telling you—if you search for images instead of clicking through random websites, you'll get exactly what you need instantly. It's a total game changer.😉

Where on earth did you end up getting your cakes and pastries done!!!!!!! I mean, seriously—I went around to a few different bakeries with just a couple of reference photos, and they actually had the nerve to tell me they don't do that kind of work. Like, excuse me? As if it’s too demanding or something!!!!!😕😕

The Bond company out of Kansas will be handling our cakes and pastries. I'm not sure where you're from...
I'll take a look at their catalog to see what they offer and what kind of work they do.

Look, I'm based in Washington, D.C., and I've personally checked out a few different places around here—some of them don't even do tiered wedding cakes, and others? Honestly, they are obscenely expensive. Like, can you believe someone would charge that much for a wedding cake for maybe 80 people$833?????

That is truly sickening... there are plenty of girls here from NYC, so you can always consult with them, right?😉

Maybe try that little bakery over on the corner... though I bet their prices have spiked too. About a year and a half ago, they were still $20... but their sweets are killer. They've done custom cakes for me before, and I think they make those mini cupcakes too.

Yeah, they charge an absolute fortune—sure, the quality is decent, but I refuse to hand over that kind of cash just out of pure principle. Where are you even getting your sweets and cakes from???? The venue told me I have to use some specific bakery that carries official health certifications because of salmonella scares!!!!!!!!!! And honestly, I don't even know where else to look! I stopped by Malibu, and they're charging $37/kg for pastries and a cake for 80 people is $300. 😕

Try Smile in Forest Hills. They have prices around $23. I can send you their number if you want...
