Number sent. And yes, they definitely deliver to the arena...

Since we are discussing Salmonella, I suppose one must be cautious, though having a food handler's permit doesn't necessarily mean those pastries are somehow "immune," if I may use that term, to bacteria. I suspect how those treats are stored plays an equally vital role.
As for restaurants—speaking purely from my own observations—many seem to lack proper cold storage or refrigerated display cases where wedding cakes and desserts could be kept until they are actually served. Instead, they tend to set them directly on the table (not all of them, I suppose, but certainly most), even though the newlyweds might not arrive for several hours... I once personally witnessed a wedding cake being placed in a room where cured meats and similar deli products were hanging from the ceiling.
Therefore, when you are selecting sweets for a wedding, regardless of any official certification, it might be wise to avoid anything with egg-based creams; there is surely a vast array of delicious options that don't require them.

On a side note, I wonder if restaurants are permitted to accept desserts that I have baked myself at home, or if they insist that everything must be purchased through them? I am merely thinking of ways to save a bit of money, I guess.....

You absolutely HAVE to check with the venue first!!!!!!!! I've heard from some places that you can bring your own—like, something your grandma or auntie baked—but lately, a lot of them are demanding that specific bakery certification to guarantee everything is fresh (probably because of the eggs) and to prevent Salmonella!!!!!! Plus, they told me that with that certification, they're basically protecting themselves from any legal crap if something goes wrong, because otherwise, the bakery takes all the heat!!!!!

Zachary Gray35 said:Maybe try that little bakery over on the corner... though I bet their prices have spiked too. About a year and a half ago, they were still $20... but their sweets are killer. They've done custom cakes for me before, and I think they make those mini cupcakes too.

Totally agree... they did the cakes and the wedding cake for us. Seriously legit homemade style. I know they're charging $23/kg now since I ordered some for my daughter's first birthday.
They do free delivery to your place or the restaurant, and honestly, the fact that they pack everything nicely on trays or in boxes was a huge plus for me. For the cake, I just showed them a photo of what I wanted and they nailed it.....
Now that I'm ordering a birthday cake, they mentioned they'll be at the wedding expo over at the Bowling Alley—not sure when exactly, maybe this weekend?!?

I thought it was this weekend too, but honestly, I wasn't sure—check the photos on the website first. That Small house bakery is out in the Suburban neighborhood.

I was beyond satisfied... Got a recommendation right here on this forum and I've been a regular ever since.

Hey ladies,

Does anyone know if I can find a Croquant wedding cake anywhere in Washington, D.C.? Also, if anyone’s ever tried getting one shipped in from California, please let me know—I'm dying to have this specific cake at my wedding.

Thanks🙂

I was beyond satisfied. Found them by total accident, then later some buddies mentioned they’ve been regulars there for years—cookies, cakes, service, the whole nine yards. Everything hits the mark. My only gripe is their prices have spiked since I first started using them, but at least they haven't gone up to $30 like those other guys....

Look, some places are charging over $33/lb... just insane. I don't know about you guys, but $23 is my absolute limit per pound. At the Small house, they told me they had to hike things up because the cost of eggs and oil went through the roof. But hey, the treats are homemade and legit, plus I only buy small amounts anyway. I saw stuff at the grocery store in Avenue Mall going for $60/lb though.

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend Vicek. Don't get me wrong, their cakes look absolutely stunning, but the flavor profile is just... off. They feel a bit overdone—way too much sugar and margarine for my liking.👎

Seriously, Vincek has gotten so artificial lately. And honestly? I don't think I've ever even seen a croquant cake there...👎

Never actually tried anything from Vincek, so who knows what they taste like—but their site says they have brittle in the lineup. I've never had brittle myself, though looking at the ingredients, it seems like it'd be way too sweet...

It's seriously too much sugar. Like, it gets so hard you can barely even chew it.
Fact. I'm from Florida.🥳

I’ve had plenty of chances to check out Vice's cakes. Like I mentioned, they look beautiful, but they just aren't that tasty. 👎For that kind of money, you're better off ordering from someone else. There are so many great options to choose from in Washington, D.C. alone.

Everyone seriously needs to try the cakes... whoever you end up with.... ☕

I’ve gotta shout out Vincent and PARF again... they were incredible.... honestly, those guys showed up with the cake a solid thirty minutes before it was even time to "cut" it...
