Your story keeps shifting... first, you claimed the word Duvno was a nationalist slur, then you said it was just geography, then you argued Duvno was superior to any small town I could possibly be from, and then you started bringing up Nevesinje and Gacko. Then suddenly it wasn't Nevesinje specifically, just the surrounding area, and you acted offended by where I actually come from... meanwhile, you've gone from saying people should be proud of being from the country to claiming I'm the one from the sticks, despite me also being from St. Louis.
So, according to you, some people can take pride in rural life while others are just "from the sticks"?

No one can pretend to be something they aren't. Personally, I'm happy being a city person... though I've always felt there is a certain romance to rural life: the small-town charm, the plowed fields, everything being so orderly, the fresh fruit and all that.
Unfortunately, I haven't had much chance to experience farm life firsthand, though I used to go hiking quite often around Zelengor, and my family is into hunting.
The whole obsession with "rural vs. urban" was largely pushed during the era of communism because the goal was to build a "working class," which couldn't happen if everyone was already living in cities. So, the countryside was painted in a negative light just to encourage people to migrate to metropolitan areas! That’s why you end up with a place like St. Louis, which is filled with people from the West as well as from places like Nevesinje. Though, in my experience, there are more people from the Gacko area than Nevesinje.
Most Americans here actually migrated to St. Louis, so very few are true old-timers. Honestly, I don't have an issue with anyone, provided they adapt to the local way of life and social etiquette. For instance, you shouldn't throw trash out of an apartment window or clip your nails on a fifth-floor balcony!👋
