Come on, copperowl2, try to keep it brief for once. I mean, I occasionally enjoy reading your stuff, but sometimes you just drown me in words...
Is all that rambling really necessary?
🙂
und, if you actually sprinkled a little humor into those posts, they might actually be provocative!
👍
But as it stands...
😲

By the way...

I can't make heads or tails of any of this. Has everyone here collectively lost their minds? Now we’re all out here hunting for aliens everywhere we look.🙂

Oh, I fell in love today... blame the aliens.

My wife is pregnant... blame the aliens.

Seriously, what a joke.

And who exactly is forcing you to read me?
I write for those to whom these words aren't even intended, so perhaps I'll just get even more long-winded.

As for the Fisherman!
Who is actually afraid of a Fisherman?
😕
Who?
It’s the person who is out there fishing themselves, though they might be hunting a different kind of prey altogether.
They employ methods so insidious that they provoke a sense of self-loathing, yet they feel compelled to use them because, without such tactics, the hunt would yield nothing.
It stands to reason that such an individual—this free-style fisherman—might target "younger blood," seeing it as a remedy for those aging years, while others nearby see only the danger in it.
They are fully aware of the damage they can inflict on others, so it makes perfect sense that they fear whether everyone else is willing to go to such lengths too.

I truly feel sorry that you are all being so hard on yourselves and that you seem to know so little about one another.
Life isn't easy for you, and anyone who would choose to step into your shoes would likely have to be completely insane.

copperowl2 said:That person is also a Fisherman, just maybe fishing for a different kind of catch.

Look, the "ego" self is basically a Fisherman who can't survive without his prey ("you" and "it"). At its core, the essence is identical—everything else is just semantics...
It stands to reason that such a person—this free-spirited fisherman—might target "younger meat," especially since people in their later years often see danger in everyone around them.

You're spot on; only a Fisherman recognizes another Fisherman out there in the vastness of the ocean.
She knows exactly what she’s capable of doing to others, so it makes sense that she’s worried about whether everyone else is willing to go that far too.

You're getting way too caught up in concepts like "power" and "obligation"...
"Obligation" is for commercial fishermen on the coast!
It honestly breaks my heart that you all are being so hard on yourselves and clearly don't know each other very well.

It’s actually refreshing to see some genuine empathy here that isn't driven by the hunt!

1. First off, you absolutely need to secure a valid fishing license before you even think about heading out to the water.

2. You can't just show up empty-handed; you need to have all your gear ready, from your rods and reels down to the specific bait you're using.

3. Finding the right spot is half the battle. You aren't going to find anything near a drainage pipe or in some polluted runoff; you want to seek out the clearest, cleanest water available.

4. A common tactic is to toss a good amount of bread into the water first to draw the fish toward your location.

5. Timing is everything in this game. If you want the best results, you really need to be out there during the Twilight.

6. And don't get too excited just because you see your bobber dip below the surface—it doesn't necessarily mean you've actually hooked something.

7. You also have to realize that catching small panfish requires a completely different approach than targeting the big trophies.

8. Every species follows its own biological rhythm, so you have to time your trips to coincide with their specific feeding windows.

9. Most importantly, we follow conservation rules: any fish caught that falls below the legal size limit must be released back into the water immediately.

10. Just a word of advice for the beginners: don't go into this expecting to fill up your freezer after a single afternoon.

1. You need a license to go fishing.

The moment you popped out of the womb, you were granted one.

2. You’ve got to have the right gear—tackle and bait.

But the truth is, the hunter is the tackle, the bait, and the prey all rolled into one. It’s like a dog chasing its own tail.

3. You have to find where the fish are; you don't usually cast your line into
sewage or polluted runoff; you look for the clearest water.

According to the above, since the hunter and the prey are one and the same, the environment doesn't actually matter.

4. First, you toss a bunch of bread into the ocean to draw them in.

The law of cause exists only as long as the Fisherman believes he isn't the prey.

5. You also have to watch the timing; the best catches happen during Twilight.

time is an illusion...

6. Just because your bobber goes under doesn't mean there's a fish on the hook.

If the bobber sinks, it just means your weight is too heavy for the float. When a fish actually hits the line, it TUGS.

7. You catch small fish differently than you catch big ones.

True, but they all bite the same bait.

8. Every species has its feeding season when the catch is most plentiful.

The best time to strike is when the fish are preoccupied with the drive to reproduce, or when they're simply so hungry they "have" to feed.

9. Any fish caught that are under a certain size get tossed back into the sea.

Sure, but by then they're already dead, so neither the fisherman nor the ocean gets anything out of them.

10. Don't expect to fill your freezer with this kind of fishing.

Never expect anything from anyone, or from anything, for that matter.

It’s happening because of the people these words weren't even meant for—so fine, I’ll keep going.

As for the Fisherman!
Who actually fears a Fisherman?
😕
Who?
The very person who is out there fishing themselves, just maybe casting a different kind of line.
They use tactics so underhanded they make them sick to their own stomach, but they feel forced to play dirty just to land a catch.
It’s obvious that someone like that—this certain type of free-style fisherman—might just be looking for "fresh meat," acting as a remedy for those getting older, seeing danger in everyone around them.
She knows exactly what she’s capable of doing to others, so it makes sense that she’s terrified that others might be willing to go just as far.

I honestly feel bad that you guys are being so hard on yourselves and that you clearly don't know yourselves very well.
It can't be easy, and anyone who would actually want to swap places with you would have to be completely out of their mind.

Who are you even talking to? 😕

1. Sure, that’s exactly how poachers justify their actions

2. I see your point, but let’s be clear: just because there’s fish in the water doesn't mean every single one is a Fisherman

3. Let's be realistic here—Fishermen aren't going to waste their time out there if there isn't any fish to be found in the area

4. Sometimes a Fisherman tosses out some bread without even realizing he's doing it

5. While time is an illusion, Twilight is very much a reality, and it's during the Twilight hours that the fish are biting most aggressively

6. I disagree; just because you see a float submerged under the surface doesn't guarantee the fish are actually hooked

7. That’s simply incorrect. You can't catch every species with the same bait; you certainly aren't going to land a Red Snapper using nothing but worms

8. I agree that when the fish are hungry, the hunt is at its peak. As for this idea about breeding... well... I suppose that logic might hold water for certain types of fishermen😁

9. Not true. They aren't dead if we make sure to release them back into the ocean quickly enough

10. You hit the nail on the head; absolutely correct

mb,

Everything I've dealt with up to this point has just been one long series of lessons. Until I finally realized that was what was happening—and until I actually stepped up and started learning from them—they just kept getting harder and harder; they'd just keep looping back in different ways...

Once I actually started paying attention and learning, things finally started moving in a different direction.

What I mean is, have I had those specific, "custom-fit" experiences designed just for me? You know, the kind meant to either crush me or force me into an awakening.

Later...

1. Yeah, that’s exactly how poachers justify it.

"The hunt" we're talking about isn't even regulated by law. So, technically, what you'd call poaching doesn't exist. You're either hunting or you aren't...

2. In a way, sure, but just because there's fish in the water doesn't mean everyone is a Fisherman.

Allegory again...

3. Fishermen don't just waste time hunting where there aren't any fish to begin with.

Allegory again...

4. The Fisherman tosses out bread without even realizing he's doing it.

Actually, the Fisherman knows he's tossing bread, he just doesn't understand the underlying reason—nor does he care about the intention, because he doesn't "have" to...

5. While time is an illusion, Twilight is very real, and that's when the fish bite best.

Twilight has nothing to do with time or the ocean. It's about the movement of celestial bodies. Fish have always existed, regardless of the era. Everything else depends on the Fisherman.

6. Not necessarily. Just because the bobber is underwater doesn't mean they've taken the hook.

If they're biting, that bobber is going to be dancing—up and down. That's a strike...

7. Wrong. You can't catch every fish with the same bait. You aren't catching a Bass with a worm.

As long as the Fisherman realizes he's also prey, he can see the distinction between the hunter, the trap, and the prey. The bait is essentially the same; it's just the "shape" that changes.

8. True, a hungry fish is the easiest catch. As for that whole breeding thing... hmm... maybe some fishermen buy into that.

Breeding is just allegory again...

9. That's not true. They aren't dead if you put them back in the water fast enough.

Once someone finally "steps out" of that ocean, they never go back in.

10. Spot on.

Nothing is ever absolutely certain...

It felt like the same patterns were constantly looping back around in different disguises.

Once I finally embraced the learning process, everything started moving in a completely different direction.

What I mean is, I had these personal experiences that felt specifically tailored to me—almost like they were custom-made to either break me down or force me toward some kind of awakening.

Cheers!

copperowl2,

are you seriously forgetting that old Gnostic concept...?!

[Do not give what is holy to dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn to tear you. (Matthew VII 6)]

Hey there.

It is thoroughly regulated, to say the very least... particularly regarding the hunt we are discussing here.

Look, let’s be honest: if we aren't using an allegory again, we aren't getting anywhere with this conversation. It's simply impossible to grasp these deeper truths without them.

Look at point number three... and then take a close look at what I wrote under point two.

Maybe they have some insight into this, or maybe they’re just as lost as the rest of us... honestly, there is no way for me to tell. 😉

It’s an absolute fact: the fish bite significantly better during Twilight.

There are moments when you’re sitting there, staring at the water, and you won't see that float break the surface for what feels like an eternity—yet, despite the silence, the fish just isn't caught. If you ever doubt me on this, go ahead and ask any veteran Fisherman out on the lake; they'll tell you exactly what I'm talking about.

Face it, you’re never going to catch a trophy bass using nothing but worms. 😛

...hm, I have to admit, I’m completely out of my depth on this particular subject. 😉

You can always go back, I suppose, provided you have the means... but let’s be honest: once you return, you’ll find that the place is never quite the same as you left it. It’s an inescapable truth.

10. Everything is absolutely spot on.

mb,

Don't sweat it. The people this message was meant for have already caught the drift. As for everyone else? They either missed it entirely or they saw it and just didn't get it—they'll move on and forget about it before you know it.

The ones who actually "get" it usually don't feel the need to jump in with a massive debate... because, well, they understand. Besides, there are always way more people lurking and reading than there are people actually typing stuff out. Right?

As for all the noise and distractions, online forums are just a microcosm of the world we live in. You've got seekers, and then you've got those who are basically programmed to trip up anyone trying to walk the path to truth. (And let's be real, most of them aren't even aware they're doing it; it's just instinct at that point)

But unlike them, a true seeker has to stay sharp and navigate through all that nonsense...

You see these fishermen bickering back and forth, trying to outdo one another over who’s got the superior nets, the sharper hooks, or the better bait... then they just descend into those endless, repetitive fishing tall tales.

Meanwhile, old man Fisher just drifts right past them in total silence... nobody even notices him or hears him coming.
At his age, he isn't even out there casting lines anymore; the fish practically jump right into his bare hands.
