So, regarding my Intel card—I had zero issues getting registered on PayPal. Then I went to grab a month of file hosting from BitCoin ( https://secure.avangate.com/order/ch...c1d36f6bf80650), picked EUR, typed in my card info and CVV, and boom 🙏 it worked! It kicked me over to a 3DS verification page where my token number was already sitting there waiting for me. I just tapped the token to get my 6-digit code and the payment cleared instantly 😉
. But I’m totally stumped—why isn't my card (Intel) passing the Verified by Visa check when their own website says it absolutely has to 🤔

Which bank offers the best account for online shopping and using PayPal with a Visa debit card, and what kind of fees am I looking at?

I guess if you’re just planning on using that card for spending rather than pulling money from PayPal, then maybe a standard checking account at JPMorgan Chase would be your best bet.
Since there aren't any monthly maintenance fees, and if the account is actually in someone else's name and you're just transferring money to yourself to spend, you probably won't have to worry about filing any extra tax returns every year, unless we're talking about some seriously massive amounts of cash.

When you go to open the account, you might want to just mention that you'd prefer an Intel card instead of a physical plastic one.

I read online that people with old JPMorgan Chase accounts used to run into issues with PayPal. Has that been resolved, or is it still a problem?

Look, there's an entire thread dedicated to PayPal right here. I'm sure you'll find someone who knows exactly what's going on if you look there. 😉

My girlfriend uses a JPMorgan Chase account and hasn't run into any issues with PayPal at all...

Anyway, does anyone know if you can use a JPMorgan Chase account to pay in installments (not online, just at local shops here) or use it for international purchases?

I wouldn't recommend paysafecard to my worst enemy—it's an absolute scam. Customer service is practically non-existent. They print a support number right on the card, but when you call it, you realize the line doesn't even exist. Your only option is to send an email and sit there waiting a week or more just to hear some useless response like, "We have no idea why your code isn't working." It’s a massive waste of both money and time, and you end up stuck with funds you can't use anywhere.

It's completely useless. I tried using it at places specifically listed as partners on their own website, only to get hit with the error: "This code cannot be used at this merchant."

And if you actually want to try and get a refund from a voucher, good luck. You're basically throwing $12 away, whether the voucher was for $50, $100, $200, or $167, and then you're forced to wait two or three weeks for any movement.
I wouldn't touch paysafecard again if you paid me.

If anyone out there has had a better experience, feel free to share, but as far as I'm concerned, I am DONE with paysafecard.

Look, from what I’ve seen, you can't beat using PayPal or Neteller. When it comes to cards, my take is that you should stick with a Visa from either JPMorgan Chase or Bank of America linked directly to a foreign currency account. And here’s the kicker: make sure the base currency matches whatever you’re actually spending online most of the time.
If your account is set up in USD but you're trying to buy something in dollars and you've got $5,000 sitting there, you're fine—but if you have an account where the base currency is something else, even if you have plenty of cash, things get messy. Say you have $5,000 in a different currency and try to pay $100, it might work, but it’s a disaster waiting to happen. You end up getting hit with a double conversion. First, they convert your money into USD at the bank's lousy buying rate, and then they charge you again at their even worse selling rate to finalize the purchase. It's a total rip-off.
Bottom line? If your base currency is USD and you're buying stuff in dollars, you dodge all those useless conversion fees.

Please excuse my sudden entrance here, much like a skydiver dropping in without a parachute, but I am currently planning to open a bank account specifically to facilitate more online shopping. To that end, I was wondering if anyone might have a recommendation regarding which card or even which banking institution I should look into? Specifically, does anyone have firsthand experience using the Wells Fargo Visa or perhaps the Capital One Mastercard prepaid options? I am curious about the various fee structures and any other pertinent details one should keep in mind. Thank you so much! 🙂

Right now, I’m using a Bank of America Visa Platinum. It’s a USD debit card—meaning you can shop online or travel abroad without any hiccups—as long as they accept Visa. Since it's tied to my standard checking account, the conversion to other currencies just happens at Bank of America's daily exchange rate. Honestly? It saves me from the headache of opening a separate foreign currency account and paying extra maintenance fees. I've tested this card on eBay, PayPal, Booking.com, and all those other major sites, and it works perfectly every single time.

The monthly fee for maintaining my Bank of America checking account is $2.25.

👎So, my Visa Platinum has been a complete nightmare when it comes to online shopping—at least, that’s just my experience. I’ve tried using it to book flights, but I haven't had a single successful transaction across four different websites now. It's honestly pretty frustrating, so I'm calling Bank of America tomorrow to figure out what the hell is going on.

I have no clue—maybe check with Bank of America? It works perfectly fine for me everywhere, whether I'm shopping online or hitting up stores abroad. Honestly, I can't even remember the last time my card actually failed me.

The Wells Fargo Visa is easily the best prepaid option out there. 😉

Just another lost soul in the digital void here. 🙂
I have a question and would appreciate some clarity... I’ve run into a bit of a snag with my Wells Fargo Visa Electron. It works fine with PayPal, but Amazon won't touch it. This is causing me a massive headache at the moment. Does anyone know if Amazon actually accepts that much-hyped Wells Fargo Visa Web Prepaid card?
Or should I be looking into a different option?
Thanks in advance. 🙂

Hey, just wondering—does JPMorgan Chase offer a card for online shopping that’s actually secure?

Does anyone know if PayPal or Neteller accepts deposits and withdrawals from a Bank of America Visa Electron? I have a Visa Electron account held in USD, and I'd rather not move my funds around unnecessarily if it isn't supported. Thanks

My bad, I thought maybe there was something a bit more budget-friendly out there
That card is basically a one-trick pony—you make a single payment, blow through the limit, and then it just expires after a year. What a joke.

It looks like the Visa debit card from my JPMorgan Chase checking account finally started working on PayPal and those kinds of services recently.
I guess you don't even need to go out and get a specific credit card or anything.
I actually just got mine all set up and activated yesterday.

I just heard back from Chase, and they confirmed I can use my Visa Electron for PayPal. Does this mean it’ll work on Venmo or Zelle too?
