Pure insanity

Just sitting here on my floor, crying and laughing at the same damn time.....

Past month:

Got laid off—company hit a rough patch and they dumped seven of us onto unemployment all at once.

My guy is being a total jerk. Pretty sure he’s cheating, so I’m done with him.

Someone hacked my computer and racked up hundreds in long-distance charges I can't pay... now my phone is cut off.

A friend stabbed me in the back. Admitted she never actually cared about our friendship, just used me for her own gain.
(She lived on my dime for three months)

Every time I knock on a door looking for work, people don't just say no, they slam it in my face.

God, I don't know whether to cry or laugh....... it hurts so much, it's exhausting... but something tells me it'll turn around. Better days are coming. I pray to God every night and I'm holding onto hope....

I know I'm not the only one out there dealing with crap...

We all hit those stretches where it feels like everything we touch just falls apart. You can't catch a break to save your life. I don't think anyone here has escaped that feeling at least once. Sometimes it drags on, sometimes it passes quickly—but the misery is temporary. Believe me. 🙂

Try looking at it from this perspective:
1. This "friend" was never actually your friend to begin with, and honestly, it's better that her true colors have finally surfaced. Just pour some water down the stairs to ensure she never shows her face around here again—it's an old superstition, but it works.
2. As for that guy, he clearly isn't the right one if this is how he conducts himself; you might as well pour water down those same stairs for him too.
3. Regarding your job: sit down and polish your resume, list out all your previous roles, and start sending it out blindly to companies, even those that haven't posted any openings. Reach out to all the big names in the industry and let it be known that you're on the hunt.
4. Lean on your family and your real friends. Give them a call; they will be there for you.

Sometimes life just hits us all at once with a string of terrible events... and right now, that's where you find yourself. But life moves forward, and if you put in the work to reclaim your quality of life, things truly will improve!
I sincerely wish you the courage to fight through this and the luck to find your way back! 👍

redtinker2, don't sweat it... you've got plenty of free time now to figure out your next move. These breaks can be a blessing, believe me. And that "friend" did you a favor in the end. Maybe you'll be a bit more careful about who you trust from here on out...

At this point, you might just want to pick up a local newspaper, find a fresh start with a new job, and begin moving forward—perhaps even finding a new partner who truly treats you with the respect you deserve. Everything has a way of working itself out in the end, don't you think? After all, what goes around comes around, and justice eventually finds its way home. 🙂

It’s highly unlikely that someone actually "hacked" your computer. You probably just caught a Trojan or some malware while browsing sites related to Tahiti, the Solomon Islands, or some other exotic destination. Just run a full system scan on your machine.
As for everything else... it’s honestly depressing. Sometimes I find myself wondering, "What is actually wrong with our society??" What is the ultimate goal here—pure hedonism, or just the desire to hurt someone? Or is it simply turning one's back on them entirely? But hey, maybe I’m just an idiot who doesn't get it...😕 I suppose there must be some logic to it, given how many people act this way... and they don't even do it to your face, but through texts, emails, and all those other digital gadgets.

Girl, I wish you nothing but luck and a lot of patience. You're going to need it. And when you think you've finally hit rock bottom, believe me... you haven't even reached halfway there yet.
