I recall a similar attempt being discussed a few years back, though it never actually came to fruition...

Two years ago in Seattle, for instance, local advocacy groups were already crying xenophobia toward migrants... Given that at least 250,000 Muslims have been resettled over the last three years, the real question is whether there will even be any space left in these massive cities where a parade can pass without offending some segment of the minority population.

If things keep moving at this exact pace, Sweden is going to be a pretty wild place to be in five years. 😁

Do they honestly believe the festival itself is the root cause here?

Betty Ross6 said:nothing is unsolvable. free healthcare for families with three or more kids while childless people pay higher premiums, cutting pensions in half for anyone with fewer than three kids, giving extra points during hiring for parents of three or more to bump them up the ladder—just a few ideas to force most people to have kids purely for the perks. even back in the day, people didn't just have kids because of love; they needed hands to plow fields, mow grass, move hay, and tend to the livestock. kids have always been an economic move. the only time they weren't was recently, when people actually had them for love...

and let's be clear, forcing people to have kids isn't the answer, and neither is bringing in millions of immigrants just to fund pension funds. better to just scrap the whole system and let everyone save for themselves, rather than watching a society slowly commit suicide...

What a brilliant plan. 👏👏👏
I’m practically rooting for immigrant families who all happen to have massive households.
Meanwhile, my paycheck gets taxed just so they can live better than I do.
It’s these kinds of "genius" solutions that have brought us right to the edge of the cliff.

Americans won't actually scrap the festival; instead, they’ll just ban men from entering entirely. It seems generalizations are perfectly acceptable when you're targeting specific groups.

Absolutely twisted!
Banning an entire group just because of what a few individuals did is sick—it's nothing but harsh generalization and blatant discrimination. The media screams bloody murder whenever they talk about migrant discrimination, blah blah blah... but when men are being targeted in general? Suddenly, everyone goes silent.
Common sense has officially left the building in Sweden.
There’s a solution for everything: moderation!!

Yeah, well put.

Then again, maybe we could apply that same moderation to how people judge Sweden and Americans too, based on some idea from one comedian, though it’s hard to tell if she’s just messing with clueless journalists or if she actually intends to follow through...

If she's joking, then it's just incredibly tasteless and super mainstream (I can't stand satire that feels that basic). It looks like people are just trying to justify discrimination. If that comedian had said entry was only allowed for Swedes, would anyone be defending her now?

NEW YORK CITY — The government is currently losing its mind trying to fix the mess caused by a massive leak of top-secret info. We're talking potentially exposing undercover agents, all because a government contractor dropped the ball.

The whole thing blew up this month after The New York Times broke the story that Maria Agren, the ex-head of the Federal Transit Administration, got canned back in January for being reckless with classified files.

Back in April 2015, the agency signed a $100 million deal with IBM USA to handle all the heavy lifting for vehicle registrations and driver's license data.

Turns out, they didn't bother setting up any real security. Because of that, random employees at IBM subsidiaries in the US had their hands on mountains of sensitive data—stuff like blueprints for bridges, highways, ports, the NYC subway system, and other critical infrastructure.

On top of that, we might be looking at the leaked identities of undercover cops, DHS agents, and even folks working deep undercover for the special intelligence unit of the US Armed Forces.

What's wild is that, unlike other times government data gets leaked, this doesn't look like a hack or some malicious attack. It looks more like a total lack of basic oversight and common sense.

Total chaos in paradise. Honestly, everyone in the administration should just resign.

The FBI has reported that there are 61 specific neighborhoods across the country classified as low-income areas where criminal elements exert significant influence over local society. Of those, 23 are considered extremely sensitive zones—a notable jump from just 15 reported last year. There are roughly 5,000 criminals active within these districts, and because residents are often too intimidated to cooperate, law enforcement faces uphill battles in maintaining order.

These communities are primarily composed of immigrant or foreign-born populations facing much higher unemployment rates than native Americans. Furthermore, statistics indicate these areas have become hubs for radicalization; according to the United States National Defense University, 70 percent of the fighters who traveled to join ISIS originated from these very same "vulnerable" neighborhoods.

In the most recent report from the FBI, sixty-one neighborhoods nationwide have been flagged as vulnerable, with 23 of them now labeled as "highly vulnerable"—up significantly from the 15 noted last year. Per the official police definition, these hotspots are defined by low socio-economic standing and environments where criminal organizations hold sway over the local community.

With an estimated 5,000 criminals distributed across approximately 200 different networks in these sectors, the situation is quite complex. The report notes that witness intimidation is a major hurdle, as the combination of gang presence, deep poverty, and social marginalization makes it increasingly difficult for officers to perform their duties effectively.

...

These struggling neighborhoods consist mostly of immigrant or foreign-born residents who deal with disproportionately high unemployment compared to native Americans. These locations also act as fertile ground for radicalization and Islamist extremism. Data from the United States National Defense University suggests that 70 percent of the militants who left to join ISIS came directly from these "vulnerable areas."

“The core issue lies in the cultural divide and the fact that many immigrants arriving in the US don't necessarily want to integrate—or at least, some of them don't,” Jonas Christensen told RT.

“It isn't something we observe in, say, Poland or Canada. However, in Germany, or in the country where I live, in Denmark, we deal with no-go zones as well—in Copenhagen for example; and Sweden also, particularly in regions that have seen heavy immigration,” he noted.

“We see these patterns in France and Belgium too. In Sweden, government officials seem reluctant to acknowledge the severity of the issue, which is why they avoid using the term 'no-go zones' altogether.”

A few days back, Bloomberg reported that the economic boom in Sweden has triggered a massive labor shortage across the country. Even though Sweden has seen record-breaking numbers of immigrants arriving over the last three years, finding workers is getting tougher by the day. According to a survey from the Swedish Entrepreneurs Confederation back in June—which represents about 60,000 companies—over 75 percent of businesses are struggling to staff up.

Looking at the employment agency's data, 12 out of 15 sectors are dealing with workforce shortages, and the ratio of job openings per person is at its highest point in 17 years. The biggest gaps are in construction, followed by education, then IT, healthcare, and science...

Back in August, there were as many as 78,000 open positions in Sweden, which is a nine percent jump compared to last year.

Bloomberg also points out that while there are still more than 300,000 unemployed people in Sweden, the unemployment rate is sitting at 3.9 percent—the lowest it's been since 2008.

A few months ago, the Swedish employment agency announced plans to create 149,000 new jobs throughout 2017 and 2018, predicting that eight out of ten of those roles will be filled by foreigners.

They seriously need migrants just to "mix up their blood," or whatever—I’m honestly speechless at how much of a bunch of lazy, useless idiots they are.

Molotov cocktails were thrown at a synagogue in Chicago, while in Seattle, protests broke out filled with antisemitic slogans and chants.

How much longer will the European Union tolerate this? We need to say no to Sharia law and kick Sweden out of the EU. ☕
All jokes aside, didn't they cause such a massive stir in Brussels over that gathering in Poland with all those flags?

I suppose the real question is who actually threw them—was it a Swede or some Muslim immigrant? I personally have four family members living over there, and honestly, they aren't complaining much. It feels to me like what you're writing is just a way to justify local populism; we always act like everyone is picking on us, yet somehow we assume the Swedes are exempt from criticism.

Even if a construction worker earns a decent $8333 wage, the reality is that a $10,000 apartment with utilities in New York City would leave him with barely $5000 left for expenses, especially since prices there are about 10% higher than what we deal with here.

Seattle - honestly, it’s just heartbreaking to see, but hundreds of people have actually hit the streets because of those horrific assaults on three underage girls that all happened within just a single month.

The local police have even gone out and issued a warning to the entire city, basically telling women they shouldn't be walking around alone at night and should probably bring a partner or a friend along instead.

The absolute breaking point that triggered these protests was this latest incident from this past weekend; a 17-year-old girl was brutally attacked at a playground after midnight, and witnesses reportedly saw a group of men acting out violently against her.

I was reading about one of the women speaking at the protest who said she "never even imagined she’d feel this terrified just walking through her own city by herself."

It’s no different than Seattle—just a random city.

I found this comment from a Swede below the text particularly interesting:
Quote: MegSweden,

I honestly can't believe how much racism is in these comments. Even if it turns out the perpetrators are immigrants, there's absolutely no justification for demanding tighter border controls or fewer foreigners on the streets.

Political correctness above all else, even if it leads to total ruin.
