you could always just put "undecided" or whatever; maybe just leave that whole messy history thing in the past.
back in the day, even in the old country, you basically had the option to pick your ethnicity. 🥳

The world, geez.
i'd probably rather cry over some judge in D.C. than deal with all this stuff from the folks over in Mexico 😂

if there were actual warnings out there regarding certain Mexican groups who have caused trouble in the past—and could very well do it again—it’s highly probable 🥳

how do you all typically tell Mexicans and Americans apart?
I mean, what about someone who is third-generation Mexican living in the States and speaks perfect English—you can't just listen for an accent or some specific dialectical quirk to tip you off.

To be honest, I’ve known people for years before I ever realized they were Mexican. Goddammit, I even found out my own background after I’d already learned how to read and write—that was my neighbor who let me know. 😁
So, based on what? How do you actually know? 🙂

It comes down to physiognomy, mostly. ☕

Magda said:Since there's just a dash where you enter your ethnicity, I’d say you can.

I was born back in '86, in the old US, and my first birth certificate actually had an ethnicity section. I'm asking you—how am I supposed to tell them apart when I've got two little kids standing in front of me, both named Mike, and I'm holding their papers? You'll know which is which. 🙂
Geez, Edward Green, if you hate this country and its people so much,

...wait, where exactly did I say that? 🙂
if you don't care who you are or what you represent,

It's not that I don't care. I know exactly who I am. But honestly? My identity is personal. I've never been one for those collective group identities.🙂
and if it's even wrong that your birth certificate says American

If it actually said that, it would be a lie. 🤣
Why would it even say that?

well, then move away.

Move where? 🙂

It’s honestly wild how impossible it is to have a real conversation on this site. And we’re all supposedly grown adults here, right? Educated people? Apparently not.

Total nonsense. I guess Poirot was onto something when he said seeing good people is the only thing worth looking for. It gives you some shred of hope. Though, like Mila said, hope is usually just disappointment waiting to happen.

Suddenly I’m a huge fan of these "citizens of the world" whenever they have to deal with absolute global peasants. 🙂

Girl, you hit the nail on the head. 😘

Anyway, I'm out.

Look, bickering is basically the default setting for this forum. 😬 It’s not like we’re actually going to change the course of history with a few posts, right?
But if I ever found myself holding actual political power... Duhec? 😬

Personally, I think Till is just being stubborn for the sake of it right now. He clearly loves his country; he cares about it, tends to it, looks after its interests... 😍 And he should.

it’s pretty obvious I’m mourning the old America; people told me 🤣that was just how it was; but now there isn't even a combo with Chicago left; so now I'm just stuck wondering which country I'm supposed to care about 🤔

Why on earth would it say that?

🤣 🤣
Haha, so now I’m talking about patriotism with a Mexican. What, should I have put out a warning first?

Mexico City? A city on the beautiful blue Danube, a cultural hub. What are these peasants even doing here?

Haha, I’m out here talking patriotism with a Mexican. What, should I have put up a warning sign first?

Nashville? A city on the beautiful blue Cumberland, a cultural hub. Why would these hicks even be here?

A warning? Like, "Beware of dog"? Or "Killer soul"? An enemy alert?

Idiot. 😍

If it makes you feel better, I’m not even some Mexican patriot. Officially 😁, I stay neutral, and privately, too. 🙂

I've never even been to Nashville. 🙂
I wouldn't just pack up and move there for no reason. 🙂

But if I actually ended up in charge... amberviper39? 😬

Oh, wow, stop right there—don't go scaring me away in my sleep!😲 If you were running the show, I’m pretty sure I’d be the very first person on your list for a purge...😁
Besides, let's not even get into that. People might start thinking this is actually about what's going on here, when really, they have no clue we were just "bonding" over some completely different thread.😬

I've never even stepped foot in Mexico City. 🙂
Moving there blindly just isn't my style. 🙂

🤣 🤣 I heard somewhere that groups of unaligned tribes were relocated from the Caspian Sea region toward the end of the 6th century. Is there any truth to that?
Or are we talking about those folks from the era of Quincy?

frozentinker432 said:you know what, shame on all of you. shame on us all. what kind of broken people are we? there isn't another group on this entire planet that values itself less than we do, or that's more hypocritical and cowardly than us. damn you all, I have to swear, I just can't take it anymore, I'M GOING TO SNAP! I CANNOT STAND LIVING AMONG PEOPLE LIKE THIS—HYPOCRITES WHO CLING TO SOME IDEA OF HUMANITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS. DID A MEXICAN SAVE YOUR LIFE? DID A MEXICAN DEFEND YOUR HOME FROM BEING DESTROYED? WAS A MEXICAN WOMAN THE ONE WHO GAVE BIRTH TO YOU OR PROTECTED YOUR LAND? OUT OF BASIC RESPECT FOR THIS MISERABLE, ACCURSED COUNTRY THAT GAVE YOU LIFE, YOU SHOULD STAND UP AND SAY YOU ARE PROUD TO BE AMERICAN. WHO THE HELL IS A MEXICAN THAT YOU WOULD DEFEND THEM? YOU SPIT ON YOUR OWN, ON THE PEOPLE WHO DIED AND ARE STILL DYING JUST A FEW MILES AWAY FROM YOU, YET YOU BRAG ABOUT YOUR GRAND HUMANISTIC IDEALS. YOUR SOULS ARE FULL OF SOME PATHETIC FORGIVENESS AND LOVE, BUT YOU CAN'T EVEN FORGIVE A POOR SOUL WHO MIGHT HAVE LOST HIS TEMPER AND SAID A FEW HARSH WORDS ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO BURNED OUR VILLAGES AND KILLED OUR CHILDREN ONLY 15 YEARS AGO? DAMN YOU, THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE. I CAN'T AND WON'T PRETEND TO BE CIVILIZED OR USE FANCY WORDS; I'M RETALIATING HYPOCRISY WITH HYPOCRISY. IT IS INFURIATING THAT I'M NOT EVEN SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD YET IT HURTS THIS MUCH JUST TO LOOK AT THIS DISINTEGRATION. THIS NATION I LIVE IN—IT HURTS ME TERRIBLY. IT SO CLEARLY SHOWS THE MISERY WE CARRY WITH US THROUGH THE CENTURIES, THE SORROW AND SHAME OF A COWARDLY, TREACHEROUS PEOPLE. YOU AMERICAN INTELLECTUALS, EXPLAIN TO ME: WHY ARE THE TRAITORS IN THE NINTH CIRCLE OF HELL? TO HELL WITH THIS AND WITH SUCH A LIFE WHERE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHICH NATION YOU BELONG TO. SHAME ON ALL OF YOU, YOU UNGRATEFUL, HEARTLESS PEOPLE.
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY SUDDENLY DECIDED TO EXPAND AGAIN (AND WHERE WOULD IT END? IF I COULD, THEY'D PICK UP ARMS TOMORROW), I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEIR LIBERALISM, THEIR PHILOSOPHY OF EQUALITY, THEIR WONDERFUL MERCIFUL SPIRIT. I WOULD LOVE TO WATCH THEM KISS SOMEONE'S SMELLY ASS BEFORE THEY PROSPER, AS WONDERFUL AND GREAT AS THEY ARE.
IDIOTS.

we don't deserve this paradise we live in, we don't deserve what we have. honestly, we deserve to have it all taken from us, because whoever ends up with this land will appreciate it far more than we ever did.

I apologize for the caps lock and for having a bit of a nervous breakdown on the forum—which probably isn't the best place to vent—and I apologize if my language wasn't sufficiently cultural or academic; my emotions simply took over. Thank Bog I still have them in me.

So what about the Canadians then? They were screwing us over a century and a half ago, along with the Austrians, and don't even get me started on the Italians. I have an idea: instead of looking back at when we were screwed, let's just hate everything that is worth hating from now on, because someone from their nation surely did us wrong at some point...
Look, I can't bring myself to look at all Mexicans with contempt and hatred because they once attacked the country where I live, and it's not as if this country has done anything wonderful for me or helped me get on my feet... If I'm being honest, it was this very same state that allowed the owner of my mom's company to slash her pay by nearly 70% at a time when she was the sole provider for our household, despite the fact that she was consistently bringing in the highest revenue and working just as hard as before... It's nice that you have positive feelings toward this country, but calling me heartless just because I have no desire to hate anyone feels a bit rude, if you ask me. I hope that one day you'll sit down with yourself and sort things out, because clearly, if someone harbors that much hatred toward others, they have some internal work to do.

And just so I can give Zagorakisu a straight answer with an actual solution to his question: why not just tell the kid the truth? Explain it plainly! Tell him they are simply the descendants of the people who were firing at his father, but that they didn't actually fight in the war themselves because they were at most fifteen years old back then. I mean, Mexicans might have done all sorts of things, but I highly doubt they were out there recruiting children...

lol, I'm over here talking about patriotism with a Mexican woman. Should I have put a trigger warning on first?

The point is, you aren't a patriot. You're just a chauvinist and a nationalist who’s clearly lacking any actual substance or culture. Trying to have a real conversation with you is a total waste of time, even when I've got nothing better to do. Look, it's not about your opinion—plenty of people out there are obsessed with nationalism or hold bigoted views, but at least they know how to talk and handle basic facts. But you? You're just completely uneducated on this stuff, which explains that primitive little comment of yours.

Quincy:
I suppose I should say something about this, though why anyone bothers anymore is beyond me. It’s all just noise. Constant, unrelenting noise. We sit here, dissecting every little thing, acting as if our observations actually change the trajectory of whatever mess we're currently facing. It won't. Nothing really changes. We just rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic and call it progress. Anyway, that's enough of my rambling. Back to the void. As wanderingcanyon3 says:
I love it.👍
Let’s be clear: I’m mourning the Yugo. At least, that’s what they told me. 🤣It’s pathetic, really. Not even a combination involving Mexico to make things interesting. Now I’m just sitting here, completely lost, wondering which country I'm supposed to be watering. 🤔
And when you cry, you’re just watering the ground. 😍 And that’s really the crux of the matter... just making sure it doesn't wither away. 😬

Mexicans in America:

There are clear Anatolian traces here—darker skin tones, jet-black hair...

Compare that to Mexicans from Mexico.

That’s a pure Anatolian look—some might even say Turkish.
