Wait, which version of Daemon Tools are we talking about here? I know some of those older builds just won't run on Windows 7, though you shouldn't have any trouble with the newer ones. Also, looks like this one is the Pro version. There’s actually a free "Lite" version out there too—just a heads-up though, if you go that route, you really have to watch the installer so you don't accidentally bundle those annoying extra toolbars onto your system. That's pretty much all there is to it...

I've been running lite 4.30.4, and honestly, it’s working perfectly fine on my Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit setup

As for me, I'm using 4.35.6.0091 on Windows 7 64-bit and honestly, everything runs just as smoothly without any issues at all.

I don't bother mounting anything. I just unpack the .iso with WinRAR and run the setup. Honestly, mounting is such a headache—who even came up with that nonsense? Hehe 😛

So, here’s my current setup...
Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 @ 1.86 GHz, 1.5 GB of RAM, and a GeForce 8500 GT with 1 GB of VRAM...
I was wondering if I’d run into issues if I upgraded this rig to Windows 7—would the system actually run smoothly? Also, would I still be able to play titles like FIFA 10 or Gran Turismo 4 on it? Right now, I'm running Windows XP SP3. Should I make the jump to Windows 7? Thanks.

Is anyone else dealing with this, or is it just me? My PC keeps waking itself up from sleep mode randomly, even after I've turned off the monitor and the drives...

Forget GTA 4. A simple script would do the trick.

The very next person who brings up removing the cooling system is going to be the one getting absolutely roasted...

The easiest way to deal with RemoveWAT is just to head down to Best Buy and pick up the right version of Windows 7 🙂

I honestly don't get why people keep coming on here trying to figure out such obvious stuff 😁

Hey everyone, what's up

So, I'm running ESET NOD32 antivirus
I ran a scan on my C: drive and the thing keeps flagging this one virus. This is what pops up whenever it catches it:

C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\gamebound.exe » NSIS » setupv.exe - Win32/TrojanDownloader.VB.OQZ trojan

The problem is, I’ve tried everything, but I just can't seem to actually find the damn thing to delete it.
If I go into the Users folder and try to hunt down every single file manually, nothing shows up.
But the second I run a full scan on the whole C: drive or even just the Users folder, it finds it again. Like, where is it hiding?

Does anyone actually know how to kill this thing for good?
Thanks

Go ahead and start a new thread over on the security subforum—this specific topic is about Windows 7, not a discussion on viruses.

Fine, whatever. I just figured since I'm running Windows 7, I could ask my questions here...

Hey, quick question—is there any way to change the font in Sticky Notes to something like Arial?
Thanks!

You’ve read the rules. You know you can't just delete an account whenever you feel like it. 😉

hey there

I'm hunting down some audio drivers for Windows 7 32-bit
specifically for this motherboard
ASUS m2n-mx
running an AMD Athlon LE-1600 2.21
I know where to grab them, it's just that I can't remember what the actual socket type is so I can actually find the right stuff on the ASUS website

thanks

Just Google whatever you're looking for and the problem is probably solved 🙂

I need some audio drivers for Windows Vista 32-bit
specifically for my motherboard

I think I know where to find them, I just can't figure out which socket type I have so I can search correctly on the ASUS site.

Thanks.

Socket AM2/AM2+/AM3

Just grab the drivers for Windows Vista 32-bit and try running them through compatibility mode. 🙂

So, I managed to dig up this stuff for the socket on Google, but this part here...

''run it through compatibility mode''

I have zero clue what that even means.

thanks

Alright, here’s the deal: open up that file you downloaded—if it’s sitting in a zip or rar folder, just extract it directly onto your hard drive first. Once you find the actual installer (.exe file), right-click it and head over to Properties. From there, go to the Compatibility tab. You’ll see a checkbox for "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"—go ahead and check that box. Then, from the dropdown menu, just select either Windows Vista or Windows XP > Apply > OK, and that should be about it. 🙂
