Since I haven't been living in the States for quite some time now, I find myself curious about the actual relationship between public and private healthcare here. Generally speaking, most people head to a doctor once they start feeling symptoms or notice something is amiss. Similarly, it seems standard globally that one pays out of pocket if they want to undergo more detailed preventative screenings and diagnostic tests. Naturally, there is always a debate; some argue that visiting a physician without pain is unnecessary, while others maintain that health is our greatest asset and must be proactively managed before it is too late.

Given that American costs are quite different from those found in Western Europe, I have a specific question: if one were looking to schedule a comprehensive annual physical—including blood work, ultrasounds, and similar diagnostics—which medical group or clinic would you recommend?

Perhaps my inquiry is slightly misplaced, as I am not entirely certain if a "clinic" even fits the description of what I am seeking. From my observations on this forum, most facilities seem to specialize in one narrow field, or if they offer a broader range, it feels as though 75% of their services focus on one core area while the rest is merely supplementary. My impression is that the typical workflow involves seeing a primary care physician first, followed by specialists to diagnose the issue, and then finally visiting a specific clinic just to handle urgent matters without the wait. I may be mistaken regarding how the public-private healthcare model functions in America, but I am wondering if there exists a comprehensive medical center that operates more like a full-scale specialist institution covering as many fields as possible?

Many thanks!
