Can't remove AIM from my profile

Ugh, I’ve been trying to scrub my AOL Instant Messenger handle from my profile for like 2 months now
I even asked the mods
and the admins
but nothing
Is someone finally gonna help me out here?

And edit—I'm not an idiot or anything

So, have any of you actually attempted to swap it out for some non-existent address, or is the system completely locked down against editing? For instance, fakeaddress@example.com
