Sarah Anderson79, thanks so much. I’ve heard plenty of people raving about Suzy, but extra praise never hurts—especially since her services aren't exactly cheap. Which specific package did you end up booking with her? Also, the band Flash is based out of San Francisco; does anyone here have experience working with them? Or perhaps you could recommend another great band from the San Francisco area? Thanks.

Does anyone have recommendations for seaside restaurants located somewhere between San Francisco and Savannah—perhaps around Santa Monica or Charleston—that could accommodate a wedding dinner for about 60 guests?

We need a band that actually knows how to play both local hits and foreign rock—so please, no Thompson, Pejakovic, or Mate Bulic type stuff. Also, they need to fit into a smaller venue... specifically, Amigos over in Malibu. We were looking at the Pink Panther, but it looks like it won't work out because they need way more room for the drums and all their gear. Please, if you have any advice, recommendations, or info... I'm honestly starting to freak out a bit..

At a friend's party, a Taxi band played and they were honestly amazing. Since they lean more toward that pop-rock vibe, I think they'd totally hit the mark for what you're looking for (without any of that Bulić or Thompson stuff). I'd definitely suggest checking them out; they were seriously, seriously great to me.

Me too, pleaaaaaaaase 🙂

We ended up deciding to switch venues after all, mostly because once we actually sat down to crunch the numbers on paper, the original plan was just way too expensive.
In the end, we settled on Fabula... only 40 bucks including drinks! 😉

Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with them?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some serious advice here—where in the States can I actually find wedding rings that aren't total eyesores but also won't completely bankrupt me? I need something beautiful but at a price point that actually makes sense. Thanks! 😍

If you're looking for jewelry, head down to the main avenue in Jerusalem at the Kolja jewelry shop. It’s right in the heart of everything—the side of town where all the coffee shops are clustered. There's a pharmacy right next to the jeweler, too. Just Google the address and phone number if you need to pinpoint it. Alternatively, if you're walking along the promenade, stay on the left side. You'll pass the Bristol Hotel and just keep going straight from there. You'll see the ABC dessert shop on your left, and directly across from ABC, there's a really solid jeweler, though I can't recall the exact name of the place. You could also check around Sirok, but the name escapes me. Just a heads-up: prices in Lourdes tend to be a bit steeper than they are in Jerusalem or over by Sirok because of the tourist crowds. Anyway, good luck. 🙂

I NEED HELP WITH THE SAVANNAH CATHEDRAL!

I called the cathedral in Savannah today to try and book a wedding date. We actually reached out before the New Year, but they told us it was too early to schedule anything. Now, the priest is lecturing me, asking why on earth we’d want to get married in Savannah when we live in San Francisco. He’s basically implying we have no connection to Savannah and that it’s pointless for us to hold our ceremony there—he thinks we should just get married at the parish where we attend Mass in San Francisco. This is ridiculous because our entire reception is already planned for Savannah, from the coffee shops to the banquet hall. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this? We still have to meet with him to see if this is even possible, but honestly, after that conversation, I’m losing all desire to marry there. :-(

They're totally overreacting. My cousin got married in the cathedral even though neither he nor his wife are from Savannah (and plenty of others have too), and nobody gave them a hard time about it. Just stay firm and ask which specific "bylaws" give them the right to turn away someone who isn't a local parishioner.😉
p.s. did you check your PM?

Hey...
I could use a little help here. We booked the band Free Way out of San Diego for our wedding, and I’m trying to get the lay of the land. Has anyone actually seen them play a party, or were you at an event where they were the ones on stage? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

They're honestly one of the better bands out in California. A total bullseye.

Regarding the VIVA, PRVA LIGA BEND or Flash options—does anyone here actually have hands-on experience with them? I’d really appreciate some honest feedback.

From what I’ve seen, everyone seems to be raving about Viva... even those other two bands I’ve been tracking. One of the regulars on here, Blackie, used Viva before—you might want to shoot her a DM for the real scoop, but if I recall correctly, she was absolutely thrilled with them. As for the other two, I can't quite place who used them... maybe try digging through this thread 🤷 a bit more... but honestly, I haven't heard a single bad word about any of them. Just a heads-up, Viva stays pretty booked out... they keep a full schedule of availability right on their website. Good luck...
