I’m thinking I might need to handle around 40, and I’d really love to have at least a little something on every single one of them

To be completely honest, I have no clue what the individual rates wereβ€”I didn't even bother asking... if I recall correctly, there were about 22 tables. Everything is pretty much up for negotiation with her; she’s actually a very reasonable woman and easy to work with.πŸ‘

Hey everyone! Does anyone know where I can pick up some cheap green and white candles for a wedding party?πŸ™‚

I'm so jealous of anyone who snagged them.
Then we looked into Disney, but they're busy too! πŸ‘Ž
Now I have no clue... I kind of left all the searching to my future spouse so they wouldn't get bored. 🀣

we're probably just gonna go with an orchestra... I haven't heard them personally, but everyone raves about them. They're just super pricey though... depends on how much you want to drop on music, right?πŸ™‚

granitegull35, we’re totally on the same page here! πŸ™‚ I think they’re awesome πŸ™‚ Honestly, I don't even feel like they're that priceyβ€”I usually know everything in that price bracket anyway!

Man, those guys from Elvis Presley are seriously good. It’s such a bummer our date is already booked.
Believe me, you won't regret spending a single cent on them. I've been to a few weddings where they played, and honestly, I was just blown away! I danced so much that I didn't even notice my feet hurting. I didn't realize how bad it was until I checked my legs the next day! 🀣
If I remember right, they're playing a welcome event at the plaza in Columbus, so if you don't have plans, maybe a quick trip to Columbus would let you check them out!

We ended up finding some other group in the end. πŸ™‚I think it's an orchestra. To be honest, I have no clue how they sound. We got them through a recommendation from a good friend who used to play in a band himself but had to quit because of work. So, I trust his word! Whatever happens, happens!
I guess I can only hope everything turns out okay!

What kind of package are you guys looking at, and how many guests are you expecting? We're planning for September with about 120-150 people... and the total is $1,500 including their live band!🀷

Wait, they don't have their own musicians? They told us they don't actually have any folk bands on staff, just some names they could recommend instead...

Our date is October 1st and we're looking at about 200 guests, but honestly, I can't remember the prices off the top of my head... let me check with my guy and get back to you 😁

Though, I'm assuming the guest count shouldn't really change the price per person, right?

Hold up, are we even talking about the same band? πŸ€” 🀷 There might be a few different groups with names that sound similar

Oh, speaking of music, has anyone ever checked out the Rockefeller ensemble? πŸ™‚

The guy is quoting 1,500 bucks, but that doesn't even include a live band! They told us they don't have one on hand, and my cousin had to go out of her way to hire a separate jazz quartet for her wedding.

Are you sure you guys don't have to pay the orchestra separately?

So, we're actually pretty tight with David, the guy who runs Elvis Presley. Just thought I'd share how this works:
They don't really come with their own backing group, but they have these guys they work with all the time. If you just book the Elvis Presley band on their own, it’s going to be $1,300. They'll definitely recommend some musicians they collaborate with, but you aren't stuck with themβ€”you can totally bring your own people if you already have someone in mind.
But, if you decide to go with the backup group they suggest (maybe because you don't feel like hunting for someone else, or you don't have anyone lined up, or whatever), then it comes out to $1,500,
basically, the Elvis Presley band ($1,300) plus the backup crew ($200) equals $1,500.

They told us they have a band they can recommend if we want them, but it's totally optional. Without "their" guys, it’s 1400 bucks; with them, it's 1500β€”basically an extra 100 for the band to show up. Our wedding is in Columbus... I'm not sure if it depends on the guest count, but he asked us a few times about how many people were coming, like, "Do you maybe have 170 guests?" since we have a bunch of family flying in from Germany, France, and Sweden... though obviously we aren't counting everyone. So, I don't really know what to tell you... they're the most expensive band around, but man, they are good!!! Plus, everyone else was already booked up when we looked. 😍

So, my band is basically an Indianapolis-Columbus type of crew. One of the guys playing in the group actually used to be in the Air Force, and his contact is Daniel.

Check out this blog about an Elvis Presley band! It's pretty cool, I guess.

So, how long does it actually take for those guys from Elvis Presley to show up? We already dropped a deposit on the orchestra... if we end up canceling, do we even get our money back? I heard you don't always get the full amount back, just a chunk of it. Where did you find that group of sax players anyway?πŸ€·πŸ˜•

No biggie at all! πŸ˜›
As for the deposit, I don't know... I always figured you don't really get that money back unless they're the ones who flake on you! Like, isn't that what a deposit is for? To hold the spot, and if they bail, the place still gets something out of it. But hey, I might be totally wrong about that!
I mean, I bet it's all just up for negotiation anyway!

That's just how we roll! πŸ™‚

Man, I've had $1,400 ringing in my head since I woke up this morning! Maybe it’s just because we don't have a bluegrass band around here to drown out the thoughts.
I've got it written down somewhere, so I'll check later! My brain is totally blanking right now lol.

Honestly, they told us we shouldn't bother booking the band through them since most of the musicians are based out of Indianapolis, and since our wedding is happening in Des Moines, they figured it’d just be way more practical for us to find someone local!

I had an awesome time with them! I actually got to chat with two or three of the band members, and they were all just so chill and down-to-earth. It was a total breeze working everything out with them!

Well, at least the kid's brother is negotiating with the Strossmayer band, so I'm sure everything'll turn out just fine! πŸ™‚

Yeah, totally... those guys are seriously awesome, and if I'm being honest, their lead singer is incredible!!! If you don't mind me asking, how does the dinner and tip situation work? I know we pay the tip per guest, but do they cover their own dinner, or is that on us too? Because if they cost me $15 per person $0.00!!!!! if I'm paying for everything, that's way too much!!😒
