Yeah, honestly, Iโ€™m wondering the exact same thing. If it works, Iโ€™d totally make some bows out of itโ€”maybe even use it to deck out the car we'll be driving...

That foil sounds pretty interesting... neonheron26, I'm dying to see the pictures, can't wait to check them out! I was actually thinking about using some organza for my own decorations... does anyone know if they sell organza in the hallway?

Has anyone here actually spent some time at the V&S hall over in Memphis? Iโ€™m looking for some honest feedbackโ€”whatโ€™s the vibe like? Thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

It can't be possible that absolutely nobody here has stepped foot in that hall?! ๐Ÿ˜ข Help a person out!

Hey guys! Just popped into the aisle and thought I'd shareโ€”if anyone needs balloons, you can grab a pack of 100 for $5. Oh, and if you want bows, they have 10-packs for just $2!

I stopped by today. Prices range from about $35 up to $80, depending on the shop.

brightotter21, thanks for the heads-up on how many balloons and bows are out in the hallway.....granitegull35, let me know if you can, how much organza is sitting in the hall....

neonheron26, whatโ€™s the price per yard on that agricultural film? thanks, I'm dying to see those pics you're posting so I can decide between that or the organza, though honestly, organza looks gorgeous to me...

Robin Chase7, honestly it just depends on how you do things... personally, I found those rosemary ties at the local garden center, they had 8 different brands for about $25 for 25 meters

They definitely have organza. Honestly, I totally blanked on asking how much it cost since I didn't need any for myself, but I did pick up some organzaโ€”the florist there told me it actually looks better than organza anywayโ€”and paid for $16 10 yards. I remember buying a similar material back in Indianapolis at that one "Wedding Supplies" shop, but it was WAY wider, $15! So, yeah... :/ oh, and just to clarify, the balloons come in packs of 100 $6.75

Has anyone here actually ordered cakes from the local bakery near the mall?

Hey.
Just wanted to vent for a second... I stopped by that jeweler, Bauman, over at Emerson... and honestly? What a letdown. Everything I asked for was a "no." You go to a custom jeweler who doesn't even keep stock on hand, only to find out they can't actually design anything more interesting than a basic ring you could pick up at any mall. I really expected more from them. ๐Ÿ˜ขWhat a waste of time.
Does anyone know a decent custom jeweler around here or maybe in NYC that won't charge me an absolute fortune?

Do you happen to remember which convention hall you were at? If I remember right, Hall 15 and the ones nearby usually have the better deals.

Iโ€™ll stick to their pastries, but my aunt actually makes cakes for that guy and theyโ€™re amazing (at least the ones I've had)! Won't be getting cakes from them though, since I get a sweet discount at my aunt's place!๐Ÿ˜‰

The Dow Chemical sheeting that lylette suggested is truly impressive; it has the delicate appearance of a fine white non-woven fabric... For those of you struggling to track down a specific shade of ribbon or fabric for your bows, I might suggest browsing the floral department over at Walmart ๐Ÿ™‚ I actually managed to stumble upon some exquisite ivory material that is just perfect for crafting bowsโ€”it feels almost like lace... It comes in a 50 cm width and costs about $2.00 per meter. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks, sweetie, but I saw it used at a wedding and totally thought it was tulle, not realizing how much cheaper it actually was.

Here is a shot of the tent setup

Yeah, I actually found much better prices over in Hall 15, booth 50.
The guy even gave me his business card; he sells basically everything you could need for a wedding. Heโ€™s got connections all across the Midwestโ€”what a character. Honestly, heโ€™s way cheaper than those vendors right by the parking lot.

Rachel Wells3 said:Oh man, that looks absolutely fantastic...๐Ÿ™‚) Iโ€™m not actually from Stalingrad or anything, but honestly, I feel like those types of films should be stocked in pretty much every agricultural supply store out there. If you don't mind me asking, thoughโ€”what did you end up paying for the film?

The only thing is, you have to specify white agricultural film
A 3x10m pack usually runs about $13
