It would be so cute if I could find some sparkly ones or maybe something in a fun color, if you guys have any leads on where to look or what they cost🙂
lady dee—I actually grabbed that same cardstock from Staples, so we're using the exact same stuff 😉
What kind of envelopes did you end up getting? Just the standard ones, or did you go with something more specialty 😍

Hey there... why don't you take a peek at ? They are based out of Washington, D.C., so if you happen to know someone in the area who could pick them up for you... personally, I went with the 16x16 pearlescent ones, and the price was about $0.60 per piece, though if you order fewer than 100 pieces, it's $0.70... anyway, hope that helps! Cheers!

quietbear13 said:Hi... just figured I'd jump in here. I've been lurking on this forum forever, but I finally got around to registering!!! My day has been 🙂. You guys have been such a huge help, so I decided to write out my whole experience from start to finish for everyone
. I'm originally from Memphis, and I really wanted to have my wedding there. So, that's exactly what happened...
The Church of Saint Philip and Jacob, wow!
Vukota Hall in Memphis—hm... well, the venue was lovely, prices were reasonable, they had several menu options to choose from, and all in all, it was fine !!! I don't have any complaints, but I won't go overboard with the praise either🙂
The band—Bolero... best wishes to them!!! The guys did an incredible job. It was so much fun, and they played all the songs we requested, which we had agreed upon beforehand. Everything went exactly how I asked... there were no breaks, except for dinner. They kept playing until 6 AM!!!
Makeup—Gallah Cosmetics in Memphis. Eva did my makeup, and honestly, I'm speechless... nothing but praise, praise, and more praise. Simply perfect !!! 😍
I recommend her to anyone and guarantee you won't be disappointed. Just make sure to ask for EVA !!!
Hair—Ivana vu Hair Salon. Well... okay, the style wasn't anything overly complicated or demanding, so I don't have much to say about it. Everything went smoothly!!!
Wedding dress—Stefanie Vk
Home decor—Karaka OS. Short and sweet: PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!
And the flowers—My Flowers 🙂 is an Exclusive !!! wedding decoration studio. The girls are new, based in Memphis. One of them used to work for someone in a different city, I can't remember exactly... anyway... everyone, absolutely everyone, was enchanted by what they created. They pay so much attention to detail—candles, crystals, glitter... their floral arrangements are very lush (in terms of volume) and they are affordable! I truly visited every single vendor out there, and my Maid of Honor recommended them to me... THANK YOU, MAID OF HONOR!!! Ultimately, the flowers were the absolute highlight of everything!!!😍
I also got my invitations, thank-you cards, and boutonnieres from them. As for the invitations $2.00, I couldn't find that price anywhere else... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM !!!🙏
Oh, right... they also gave me a faux bouquet as a gift, which was identical to my bridal bouquet. I tossed the fake one, while mine stayed with me, along with custom license plates featuring our names—all for free.
Finally, I have to mention the photographer... the one and only STUDIO 69... words truly fail me here, because words can't describe it!!!🙂 The price is a bit higher, but it is absolutely justified
Anyway, I've rambled quite a bit... that would be the short version🙂 If anyone needs anything, feel free to ask, I'm happy to help!!!👍

Where is the band from?

minie, I picked up some envelopes at Allstate, and one of them was only $0.20
It was totally worth it for me, especially since we’re going with the same design for the invitations anyway
so they actually look pretty great.
Just plain white ones—it felt like enough for what I needed
I mean, why overthink the envelopes? It's all going to end up in the trash eventually

Just wanted to drop a quick tip here—this might be useful for someone! There’s this little boutique over in Kansas run by a lovely woman where you can find absolutely everything at incredible prices. For instance, those large satin bows they have? You can grab $6.75 10 pieces for a steal. And the decorative rose accents for cakes are just $0.83 a piece. They also carry ribbons, floral accents, and pretty much any other embellishment you could dream up. It is definitely worth making the trip!

Hillary, I wanted to join the conversation too; my date was September 18, 2010. I'm planning a smaller wedding with fewer than 100 guests in Bend, and now I find myself needing help finding a photographer... local prices in Columbus are getting a bit out of hand, so if anyone has a recommendation that won't break the bank...

quietbear13 said:I booked them way ahead of time because those guys are absolutely slammed! Price varies depending on what you're looking for, but I paid about $1,200 and honestly, it was worth every penny.🙂

The Caravel? Yeah, it's a restaurant, but they handle full catering too. We had tons of food—everything from deli meats and various cheeses to all sorts of salads and pasta dishes... there was just so much. They provided bar tables with linens, coolers, servers, and all the tableware (glasses for spirits, wine, soda... ashtrays, plates, silverware, etc.).
There was a massive tent, patio umbrellas... I can't remember everything else, but the whole setup looked incredible! I can send photos if you want, just let me know where to send them.🙂

That setup with Karaka sounds incredible. Actually, a friend of mine has a brother who owns a place like that, but I had no idea they did catering. I was wondering if you could possibly send me some pictures? I'm really interested in seeing how it looks. And of course, if you wouldn't mind sharing exactly how much that total cost you came up with...

As for the photographer, I've heard nothing but glowing reviews, and while I know they aren't cheap, I think it's worth the investment. I'm thinking about booking both the venue and the photographer right now in June; I just hope it isn't too late. I'm still weighing my options for a band... I've heard Quatro Band is excellent, and now you're telling me yours were fantastic too... How much did you end up paying for the band? Sorry for hitting you with so many questions... 🤣

silentstag02 said:Yeah, it's pricey for me too $3.25 since you get the cushions in either white or champagne, nothing else. And they won't let you rent covers from outside because apparently they had bad experiences before (I found a place renting them for $2.25, which adds up fast if you have a lot of chairs)! It's basically pure untaxed profit for them! :-))
I loved this venue so much I tried everything to cut costs, but the owner was super stubborn... so I gave up :-((

You can bring your own booze, and they'll just knock $6.75 off the total for every liter consumed! So if 30 liters of moonshine gets drunk, they take
30l *$6.75 off the bill! Sounds like a headache to calculate later, but whatever...
You can bring wine too, then they'll deduct $5.00 per liter used... Hope that helps...

Man, their math regarding the bourbon and wine is just bizarre... I don't really follow...🤷..they're actually pushing these champagne-colored linens on me, I just can't get past the price😛 but what can you do? If they won't let me rent from an outside vendor, I'm stuck with their options... I don't want to show up without covers and look messy😍

So, here’s the deal: when you're driving in from Michigan, just take a right before you hit the local farmers' market, and you'll see another shop right there on the right side. There are some stairs out front covered in random stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with weddings—think things like BBQ grills or trash cans—😕 but once you head inside, they have some truly wonderful items!

The wedding party is over in Columbus—as for me, I'm just in a small town tucked between Des Moines and Bozeman.😉

Hey,
what do we think about the whole fake bouquet thing? like, I make one real one and one that looks just like it. I keep the real one for myself, then just toss the fake one out there...

My sister-in-law actually did the exact same thing—I've been thinking about doing it myself, though I'm still on the fence... we'll see how it goes. If that's what you want, why wouldn't you go for it? At the end of the day, you'll still have your true 😉

Honestly, I’m not really feeling that version. Maybe I’m just more of a practical guy, but I can't help thinking—where am I going to put it later, and how much dust is it just going to collect? But hey, that’s just me. Everyone’s entitled to their own preferences. If that's what you want to do, go for it.👍
