So, here’s the situation: I haven’t been in a serious relationship for quite a while—just a few casual flings here and there. By nature, I’m a pretty shy person. I actually met him online... and honestly, when we first met up, I wasn't expecting anything at all. We’ve gone out a few times now, though, and I've realized I’m starting to really like him—to the point where I find myself wishing for something more than just a friendship. He’s genuinely a wonderful guy; he treats me so well, he's attentive, and he reaches out to me every single day. But it feels like he might have the exact same handicap I do—that crippling shyness.

I could really use some advice... how can I figure out if he likes me the way I like him, or if he just sees me as a friend? 🙄 At the same time, I really don't want to risk losing the friendship entirely. It's driving me crazy... help, please!!!

You could try dropping hints that you’re really craving someone special by your side—someone who’s more than just a friend. You know, that feeling of actually missing that connection... blah, blah, blah. You can lay it all out there, but honestly, it all comes down to your delivery and the vibe of the moment. You don't want to be too blunt about it, especially since you're naturally a bit shy! 😬 If he picks up on those "hidden" signals and happens to feel the exact same way, he'll probably bring up the whole "what are we" conversation himself, since there won't be any fear of rejection hanging in the air. Fingers crossed! 😘

You aren't going to blow up a friendship just by admitting you're interested. If anything, it might actually strengthen things.

I’d say the exact opposite—though they sound similar, they aren't.

You risk the friendship by staying silent. If those feelings are actually real, the whole thing is going to fall apart eventually anyway.

Might as well try something. At least there won't be any "what ifs."

Based on how you put it, it sounds like the feeling might be mutual. So why wait? Just tell them. Now.

I'm speaking from experience here. I spent years playing it safe and being too shy, only to realize I missed my window when it was already too late.
