Does anyone know why Google isn't working right now?
When can we expect things to be back up and running?

What exactly needs to be done to alleviate the load on the server so this forum can actually function properly again?
Regarding the question "when will we have it back," we are all waiting on an answer, yet no one has provided us with any actual information.

The Google search function is disabled. It says so right at the top.

That’s the worst part for me, too. I honestly feel lost here. Maybe it’s finally time for me to step away from the forum for a while. Just wake me up when Google is back online. ☕

Previously, I managed my involvement quite differently: I would monitor two specific subforums while subscribing to all other threads to receive notifications whenever new posts appeared 🥳

To be honest, I’m not exactly mourning the fact that Google isn't working here anymore. It felt like it was constantly being used as this perfect little breeding ground for digging up ancient posts from years ago, just so people could pluck a single sentence out of context and use it to build these totally baseless prejudices against certain users. 🙂

The only real perk of having it was being able to track down my own old comments if I was following a specific thread, but honestly, that's about it.

Google can be used for much more than just keeping tabs on fellow forum members.
For instance, it’s actually quite handy for quickly pulling up useful information when you need it.

While we wait for them to get back, there's actually a pretty decent workaround if you don't want to rely on Google... Just try typing "term + site:reddit.com"

Here is what I found for Manchester City and the Ford Fusion.

The whole "it's actually a good thing it's down, so people can't find my posts" vibe is just... I don't know, kind of hilarious to me.

I mean, seriously, what's even the point of posting if you're just gonna hide? 🤷

I'm not losing any sleep over Google. It’s honestly not all that helpful anyway. You type in one specific term, and it just throws half a dozen irrelevant threads at you instead. 🤣

It’s kind of frustrating because I can't easily track down my own old posts to see if there's been any updates on stuff I actually care about. Luckily, I mostly stick to just two subforums; otherwise, the site admins would have my head... khm... let's just say I wouldn't be getting a free drink from them next time we meet. 😁

It's because, well, in the moment, I just feel the urge to say something.
It's definitely not because I'm anticipating some random person stumbling upon a post two years from now, pulling a single sentence out of thin air, and then interrogating me about my exact thought process back then, only to decide I didn't actually mean what I said and somehow build this massive, ridiculous prejudice against me that has absolutely nothing to do with reality. ☕
