Kevin Richardson3 said:George Garcia56, if I can offer one bit of advice—just take a deep breath and try to stay calm... First off, huge congratulations on the pregnancy!
I’m truly rooting for you and hoping everything turns out perfectly.
If I were in your shoes, though, I’d probably go out of my way to get a second opinion. Maybe book an appointment with a private OB-GYN or something similar... I have a feeling they’d be more willing to run a beta test for you and all that.

Sending you my best and wishing you nothing but the best!

Thanks so much, Kevin Richardson3... I actually have an appointment scheduled at Mayo Clinic tomorrow to see the gynecologist for an ultrasound. Once that's done, I plan to talk to them about getting a beta test done and starting on Utrogestan, especially since I've started having some discharge...
You're the sweetest, thank you...

So, I started my period the day before yesterday. It felt pretty standard at first, but then it really tapered off yesterday, and today there's basically nothing left. Usually, this whole process drags on for about seven days. Is this actually a sign of something, or am I just overthinking things?

Hey pink5, did you finally get your period? I'm not pregnant or anything—but man, when I get mine, I definitely throw a party!!!

I’m not even close to being pregnant again, but since I just gave birth three months ago, I’m pretty sure this is all just my hormones acting crazy during postpartum recovery. Seriously, don't sweat it—you aren't pregnant!

So, after being a full month late, my period finally showed up today. My stomach is killing me—it’s honestly driving me crazy—but whatever, I’m just riding it out! I mean, my cycle is usually super consistent, like 26 to 29 days, so it had never been this late before. I was in a total state of panic, obviously! Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to answer all my questions... I know I was probably being a huge pain! But hey, what can you do when you're panicking? At least it's over for me!!!!!

So, my period is currently two days late, and I am experiencing several typical PMU symptoms, such as bloating, mood swings, and this unpredictable appetite where I might have no interest in food all day, only to suddenly feel an intense craving to eat everything in sight. I have also noticed some spotting lately.
(And I am certainly not a teenager.)
Is there anything specific I should be doing at this stage? Is it possible that the delay is being caused by the stress and anxiety I am feeling regarding this situation?
My cycle is usually quite regular; it has only ever been late once before, and even then, it was only by four days.
I find myself constantly waiting for my period to finally arrive, yet I am not experiencing any of those physical pains that usually signal its approach.🤷

It’s totally possible it’ll show up for you any day now; I mean, I’m out here dealing with breakouts at the PMU even though I’m definitely not a teenager anymore🤣. Just hang tight for a bit or just go ahead and do exactly what the title of this thread says😉

They claim pregnancy symptoms are practically identical to PMS

Just grab a test and settle the debate once and for all

Is it possible for pregnancy symptoms to overlap with my usual PMU symptoms? I noticed mine started well before my period was actually due, and they just haven't let up since then...

PMU usually hits right before your period anyway.🤣

I don't know... I never experienced any of those symptoms myself...

I think you're all being way too general about this—every pregnancy is different, and you can't just lump everything into these neat little clichés.

If you ask me, instead of stressing yourself out and wasting money on guesswork, you should just head to a clinic and get a blood test for hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin)—basically, a professional pregnancy test. Those results are 100% reliable.
Your doctor can write you a referral for it, and you'll usually have the results back within a few days.
If you walk into a hospital lab without a prescription, it’ll cost you around $50$33(I can't remember exactly how long the turnaround is there). However, if you go to a private facility like Breyer Laboratory, you’re looking at roughly $33 and you can often get your answers in just a couple of hours.
Home tests can be so confusing; if you mess up the timing or the procedure even slightly, you could end up with a totally wrong result. Not to mention all the anxiety and wasted time waiting to retest—it really makes you wonder if they're even worth it!
I actually went through this myself. I used three different home tests, ranging from the cheapest ones to the pricey brands, because I was in such a rush to know. My workplace involves certain health risks for a developing baby, so I couldn't afford to wait around.
Getting my blood work done gave me a definitive, 100% certain answer. It saved me so much unnecessary stress and, most importantly, kept my baby safe.

How many days after having "risky" sex can I actually use an at-home pregnancy test? I’m looking for quick, reliable answers here... Thanks!

Check this out:

I actually took one four days before my period was due, using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test...
I guess it really just comes down to how reliable the specific test is.

I won't get my funds until early August, so it feels like a long wait ahead

Oh please, honey, go read some actual literature once in a while—maybe then you’ll understand why sometimes you just need years of intense, passionate sex to get by!

I feel like I get it all... I understand everything that's happening, but my head is just spinning. I honestly don't even know what to do anymore. This all started on Friday, and now it's Sunday—I don't think I have the nerves to wait another ten days. I am almost certain I'm Truman, but I just need that official confirmation. It’s so frustrating; women who are desperately trying to conceive can't seem to make it happen, while those who aren't looking for it seem to know they're pregnant from their very first time. If I head to the gynecologist this week, will they be able to tell for sure if I'm pregnant or not?

Oh honey, where would you even go for that? What on earth are they going to see during a quick checkup??
Just take a deep breath and try not to overthink it, because I promise everything is going to be just fine... you can't rush the process like this!🤣
