I can't even see my OB-GYN until next week! Does it actually make any sense to bother taking another test at this point?

Just take another one tomorrow. Honestly, if your cycles are usually all over the place, go ahead and do it.

But look, if your period is usually clockwork, you would have seen a positive by the first day you were late. If that's the case, don't bother wasting money on more tests—you aren't pregnant. At that point, you're just stuck waiting for your appointment or for your period to finally show up.

Honestly, I have never been this late before! I'm used to things being a few days early or a few days late, but this feels different. Looking back over the last couple of years, my cycle usually stays right within a 26 to 33-day window. My last period actually started on December 28th!

Look, something is clearly off—there’s definitely an issue here—but I’m telling you, it isn't pregnancy. In my experience, when my cycle is actually regular, a test will show positive by the very first day I'm late.

Thanks so much! Honestly, I’ve been scrolling through all sorts of posts where people say they might have messed up the test or just got lucky, hoping for a different result, but at the end of the day, my period always shows up eventually! From what I can gather, these tests really are as accurate as they say. I’m just sitting here waiting for my appointment with my OB-GYN, and I guess I'm just hoping everything turns out to be perfectly fine!

Unfortunately, it doesn't have to be that way. I've had it happen twice now where I was looking at these faint lines on my Clearblue tests... just nothing but a tease. 😢

Honestly, you should just head in for a checkup and mention it to your doctor.
Especially if this keeps happening to you.
There are plenty of reasons why an HCG test might come back positive when there isn't actually a pregnancy involved.

I suppose various health issues or maybe some hormonal imbalances could play a role here, but this is actually the first time I've dealt with this. I took a couple of home tests before and they were always negative and totally accurate, but this time? It shows positive. Of course, I still need to see my OB-GYN to confirm everything, which is something I’d honestly love to happen! 😉

I'd say there's a 90% chance you're pregnant. And that other 10%? Well, if it isn't happening right now, it'll happen fast. Real fast. You'll have a baby before you know it.😉

That’s not really true. Every woman is different. My friend, for instance, didn't get a positive result until she was a full week late!

Maybe her ovulation happened later than day 14 or whatever. casualowl32 mentioned those "school" cycles earlier...

Taylor Swift, did your maid of honor ever deal with those negative results right before a positive one popped up two weeks later? My cycles tend to run pretty long, so I'm thinking maybe my ovulation just happened later than expected! Though, honestly, I've stopped trying to second-guess everything. I have an appointment with my OB-GYN this Thursday, so we’ll see what the verdict is! Ugh, he just couldn't have caught me any earlier if he tried!

I just took another test, and this one came back negative. I’m feeling pretty confused, honestly. I have an appointment with my OB-GYN later this week, so hopefully I'll get some answers by the weekend 😢

Hello everyone. I’m not entirely sure if this is the right forum for this, but I honestly don't know where else to turn for advice...
Here is the situation: my period was due yesterday, and while it technically arrived, it is nothing like my usual cycle. It is just a faint pink smear on the paper and nothing more, and even that seems to have already passed. I am at a loss. I suspect I might be pregnant since we have been trying to conceive, but I am absolutely terrified. Having endured two previous miscarriages, I am currently in a state of total panic. Is it too early to schedule an appointment with my OB-GYN? I haven't even taken a pregnancy test yet.
I would truly appreciate your perspective. Has anyone here dealt with something similar? Should I wait a bit longer before testing, or would it be wiser to take a test first thing tomorrow morning?
Thank you in advance for any input you can provide...

You need to take a test immediately. If you are pregnant and bleeding, you can't risk waiting—especially after everything you've been through. Please, just test right away.

Hey ladies, hope you're all doing well!

I’ve been lurking on this forum for a few days now... just hanging out in the shadows while I wait to either take a test (or just wait for my period to show up), so I figured I’d share what’s currently weighing on my mind:

My cycles are usually pretty consistent—mostly 27 or 28 days, though occasionally they'll drift to 26 or 29. We had sex on day 15 of my cycle, and today marks day 25. It feels a little early to be reaching for a test, so I'm curious—what do you all think the odds are here? 😛

I’ve been trying to run the math on this myself:

-If my cycle ends up being 26 days long, then ovulation would have happened around day 12, which means the egg wouldn't have stood a chance of surviving until day 15—plus, I'd be expecting my period by tomorrow.

-The more likely scenario is a 27-day cycle, putting ovulation at day 13. Again, the egg wouldn't survive two full days (that 24-hour window is the rule, right?)—in which case, I'll have my answer in about two days.

-Then there's the third equally plausible option: a 28-day cycle where ovulation happens on day 14, and since we had unprotected sex on day 15... well, I'll know the result in three days. ☕

Even though we weren't exactly planning for this, I find myself rooting for a positive result. 😍

Can you actually look at this through a strictly mathematical lens, or is life just too unpredictable for formulas to work? 🤷

Forget all those little math equations and calendars. 🙂 My cycle usually runs about 25 to 27 days, and honestly, it’s never once gone a single day longer than that. On day 20 of my last cycle, we weren't even trying because I figured, you know, those "definitely aren't fertile days." Well, turns out my fertile window is a much more... flexible concept than I thought. Some of you girls mentioned that Clearblue can show results before you even miss a period, so maybe give that a shot. Personally, I tried using Intim plus 1, four and seven days after I was already late, and it wasn't until that third test that I finally saw a positive.

Oh, please... I’ve been playing it totally safe by sticking strictly to the "safe days" method this whole time, though I did decide to take a little bit of a gamble just this month 🙂

I’ve done a ton of reading on the best timing for taking a test... but honestly, I decided it was better to wait for a definitive sign—like actually missing my period—just so I don't end up giving myself some unnecessary heart attack.
Until then, I'm just stockpiling 😉
Yeah, yeah... I know, I'm totally cluttering up the wrong thread

Hey everyone, I’ve been lurking here for days, and after a long time, I finally decided to jump in. We’ve been trying for so long now with nothing to show for it yet.....
But I’m not giving up. This month, I’ve armed myself with LH strips, and I’ve been tracking my Basal temperature for two months now.... My partner has been traveling a lot, but he managed to be home at just the right time this time (at least, I hope so)...... I’m not expecting Vjestic on February 19th, and I’m praying to God, the universe, and sending out all the positive vibes I can to bring this little one into our lives!
I keep imagining everything, though I barely feel any symptoms..... my stomach feels tight, almost like I’m constantly holding it in...(it's a strange sensation)........ The only thing giving me a tiny bit of hope..... is my temperature this morning, which hit 98.6, whereas during my other phase it usually maxes out around 97.9..... so... that's what's keeping me going!
I just wanted to share this with you all, and hopefully, in a few days, I'll have even better news to share!!!
The women on this forum have been such a huge support to me, and I want to thank you all once again!

Wishing you all so many, so many plus signs!!!!... and just one for myself!

Hey girl! Honestly, there's just so much ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ and 🙂 already for this month. You haven't checked in lately, how are you holding up? I'm doing great, actually—finally off my antidepressants, no depression or anything! lol. This is totally off-topic, but whatever, the vibes here are good enough. 😍
