I have this nagging intuition, though I can’t quite put my finger on what it is...
Ladies, thank you all so much... I will be in touch soon...
Best,

Honestly, you probably shouldn't even be stressing over this right now!
Anyway, just let me know how everything turns out once it's all over.
Best of luck with it!

Now, hold on just a second, Emily Palmer5! We really ought to let her make this decision on her own terms, shouldn't we? Let's try not to pile on any unnecessary pressure.

briskbadger11 — alright, take a deep breath and truly consider all your options. You mustn't simply act on a fleeting impulse, nor should you allow yourself to be frightened by the potential shifts or changes in your life path. And most importantly, please don't let yourself be burdened by any sense of guilt if you ultimately decide not to have children.
Whatever choice you settle upon, I am certain everything will turn out perfectly fine 😉

Bringing a child into this world is easily the greatest wealth anyone can ever acquire,
but choosing abortion—man, that’s probably the heaviest, darkest decision a woman could ever be forced to face.

Look, regardless of how you slice it, I’m not here to push anyone toward one side or the other, and I sure as hell am not here to judge. If it were someone close to me—someone I actually cared about—I’d just try to help them work through the questions (assuming I even have any answers) and give them my full support, letting them know I’ve got their back no matter what they decide.

At the end of the day, I truly hope briskbadger11 has everything she needs to make whatever choice she makes, and that none of it ends up weighing her down.

I think she mentioned it’s not even worth bringing up—and honestly, fair enough—but I still wanted to jump in and say that personally, I’d never be the type to preach at someone or judge them for their choices. Not even a little bit. Everyone's got their own path, right?

Look, this is specifically about me and my supposed "pressuring"—this girl reached out to me yesterday, and since there wasn't anyone else around, we were just messaging back and forth.
She made it pretty clear that abortion wasn't an option for her, so naturally, I just kept the conversation focused on reassuring her that everything would be okay—because, you know, once that initial shock wears off, things usually figure themselves out eventually.
I mean, she seemed mostly just panicked at the time, looking for some advice like all of us on this forum, but she definitely wasn't asking for legal counsel or anything like that.

I cannot say for certain whether you were actively nudging her or just offering support, but I find it somewhat unsettling when a young woman is left reeling from an unplanned pregnancy—caught in that whirlwind of shock, panic, and total uncertainty about her future. Is it truly appropriate to immediately begin preaching about how a child is the most exquisite blessing one can receive, or how nothing compares to seeing that tiny little heartbeat on an ultrasound? To me, it feels almost like an attempt to instill a sense of guilt should she decide that motherhood isn't her path.

I didn't catch her explicitly stating that abortion is off the table, did I?

Here’s the situation: my period is five days late. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend, though he didn't finish inside me. My cycle is notoriously irregular—sometimes I'm late by twenty days, other times even longer, and once it was nearly three months. However, since I actually have a reason to be worried this time, I'm feeling pretty anxious about it. I'm not experiencing any symptoms at all, but if I am pregnant, I should be about a month along by my count. Shouldn't I be feeling *something* by now?

I was dealing with some PMS stuff. The raw chicken was just a little off-putting, nothing major.

I agree. She should probably just label herself a "wannabe."😉

Right? I mean, every single time she posts, it somehow turns into a discussion about her—and then she acts all concerned (okay, let’s be real, she’s clearly hoping) about whether she might be pregnant😂 😂 Seriously though, honey, just join the club already... the desperation is pretty obvious at this point.

I’m honestly not even sure when I ever brought up the topic of abortion in the first place.
I went to see my OB-GYN this morning, and after confirming the pregnancy and seeing the baby on the screen, I felt a genuine sense of happiness, which is quite unexpected; I am currently six weeks along.
As for my boyfriend, we’ve decided to part ways because he doesn't want this child, and while he isn't obligated to stay, the situation is undeniably heavy. I have made the decision to carry this pregnancy to term and raise the baby on my own, so I appreciate everyone here for standing by me.

Congratulations!!!! We are so happy to have you here... please stick around so we can navigate these pregnancy days together (they feel way too short for me anyway), sharing all the worries and the wins...
Regarding the guy... I am sorry to hear that... but honestly, it’s better that he’s being upfront about where he stands now rather than later.
😘

Bravo to you, and congratulations on such immense courage!
While you didn't explicitly mention abortion, weren't you presenting all those arguments against the pregnancy—mentioning your boyfriend, your parents, and how young you are?
Hang in there, because you have truly made a brave decision!👍
