So here's the deal:
Back on November 10th, I went to see my OBGYN. It was just a postpartum checkup since I had my baby seven months ago, and she was supposed to get me started on birth control. While we were chatting, she did an ultrasound, and I mentioned that I was expecting my period in about 6 or 7 days. She told me that based on the scan, it didn't look like my period was coming then, because she saw what looked like a single, normal-sized cyst on each ovary. Apparently, it’s nothing serious or alarming—she suggested it might just be a double ovulation. She told me to come back in 2 or 3 months for a follow-up instead of giving me the pill right then. Honestly, I think I was in a bit of a shock hearing the word "cysts," so I didn't really press her for more details or ask what I should actually expect. Well, it's December 2nd now, and my period still hasn't shown up. I took a pregnancy test about a week ago, and it came back negative.
I know you guys are probably thinking, "If the test is negative, you aren't pregnant," but I don't trust these things 100% because back during my last pregnancy, the test actually read negative too. I already have two kids, and I am definitely not thrilled at the thought of being pregnant again so soon. My second pregnancy was a total nightmare; I ended up stuck in the hospital both before and after giving birth because of complications, so the idea of going through that all over again really scares me. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love kids.
Does anyone actually know what "double ovulation" means, or what kind of "normal" cysts they're talking about that aren't a big deal??!!!

My cervical dilation is at 24mm, but the doctor says it’s totally normal and will probably open up more once I actually go into labor. That’s all I know so far.

I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS. I have multiple cysts on my ovaries. Basically, one grows until it bursts, then another takes its place, and so on. I haven't dealt with much physical discomfort from them, nor have they impacted my fertility. As for other issues like diabetes—which are supposedly linked to this—I only just found out about that connection. We'll see how things play out in the future.

If I end up getting four or five periods a month instead of one, or if I'm cycling every twenty days, or even if I bleed for months straight after giving birth, I'll consider that normal. Honestly, I never thought any of it was particularly significant.

Michelle Ward95 said:Ladies, I might be asking this for the hundredth time, but I just took a Victoria's Secret pregnancy test and I think it might be positive. I’m not entirely sure, though. It looks like a plus sign, but the second line is incredibly faint—you can see it, but it isn't very distinct. My assumption is that if there's any trace at all, it counts as a positive, and if it were negative, that second line shouldn't show up at all, right? Honestly, I’m such a mess. 😲

So, this girl is asking about the bolded part—does anyone know the answer? If that second line is barely, barely visible, does that count as pregnant? (She's had two tests) 🙄

Usually, that second line is barely visible—like, much lighter than the first one—when you're dealing with an early pregnancy. In my case, I had one pale pink line and one bright pink line. If you're still feeling unsure, just grab a Clearblue test. It’s definitely more expensive, but it might give you some peace of mind. $33 If memory serves me right—

So, I took a Clearblue yesterday afternoon and then a Victoria's Secret test this morning. After just a few minutes, both showed a vertical line that was super faint (I'm on day 25 and 26 of my cycle). On the Victoria's Secret one from this morning, it might be a tiny bit easier to see... Honestly, with yesterday's test, I thought I was just seeing things because of how bright it seemed🙂 but I can still see it this morning. I'll try testing again on Monday, but I was wondering if seeing that vertical line actually means pregnancy? Like, if I weren't pregnant, that second line shouldn't show up at all, right?

If you want to be 100% sure—go get a blood test for beta hCG!

I think I’ll just wait until Monday to give you guys an update... the lines didn't show up right away—it actually took a few minutes—so I'm feeling a little nervous about that part...Ashley Adams4—if what you're saying is true, I really hope it is.😍

Just to be clear upfront: I’m definitely buying a test. 😁 But I have a question. If we had unprotected sex during my period, and then again a week later—also unprotected (this past weekend)—when should I actually go out and get one? Is it too soon?

Wait a week...

If you aren't sure when you ovulated or how long your luteal phase lasts, wait 18 days after sex to take a test.

Listen, I spent the entire day yesterday scrolling through this forum, and even though I managed to get quite a few replies, some of my questions went completely unanswered. So, if you could all just be a little kind and help me out, I’d really appreciate it. 🙂
So, here’s the situation: my period is four days late. Usually, I’m pretty much clockwork—if anything, it might drift by a day or two, but never more than that. However, we had a bit of a scare during my fertile window when a condom broke. We didn't even realize it happened at the time, and honestly, he didn't finish inside me, but I know how this works. Even if you think you're safe, pre-ejaculate can be a total wildcard. It's like thinking you've avoided a rainstorm just because you don't see a cloud, only to realize the humidity was already there. I really thought I was in the clear, but now I'm sitting here wondering. 🙄

I took a test on the very first day my period was late, and it came back negative. Then I waited three days and tested again today—still negative! Both times I used an Intim Plus kit.
I stopped by my doctor's office this morning, and she told me she doesn't see any signs of pregnancy just yet. All she could confirm was that ovulation occurred on my right ovary. As for the left one, I’ve still got that hematoma lingering there—it's a leftover from the inflammation following that cyst surgery I had on that side. 😢

I went in to get my blood drawn earlier today, and I should have my beta hCG results back by this evening. Just curious—what kind of level would that hormone need to be at for me to definitely not be pregnant? 🤷

I’m not experiencing any actual symptoms. My breasts were tender for a bit, but that’s passed now—they only hurt if I touch them directly, and there hasn't been any noticeable swelling. As far as I can tell, I don't have any signs of pregnancy at all.
I’m really hoping my delay is just a byproduct of the sheer amount of stress I've been dealing with this month—not to mention how much my schedule has been absolutely crushing me lately.
Listen, if I'm pregnant, my OB-GYN should definitely be spotting some changes on an ultrasound, right? It’s been four weeks and two days since my last period started. 😢

The doctor would see it, and they'd show you the test... honestly, I find it hard to believe this is a pregnancy🤷
Your beta levels shouldn't be over 5; if it's above five, then you're pregnant..

I don't think you're pregnant. Just wait for the blood test results; if you aren't pregnant, the levels should be under 5.

Look, girl, you aren't pregnant... any OB-GYN would have spotted it on an ultrasound by now, and a test would’ve turned positive just one day after your period was late (I've never had a single issue with Clearblue, honestly)... so seriously, don't sweat it.

Thanks, ladies... I’m just hanging in there, hoping to share some news soon that we're all waiting for 🙂
A few people mentioned that you might not see much on an ultrasound until about six weeks, though others say you can spot things as early as three... I'm really hoping my OB-GYN can detect if any changes have occurred already 🙄

Around the six-week mark, you can typically see the embryo and the heartbeat, but before that, all you're looking at is the gestational sac.

Aha, so if I were pregnant right now—given my last period was 4 weeks and 2 days ago—I should be seeing that gestational sac by now... at least, that's what I'm hoping.🙄

I could actually see the embryo and hear the little heartbeat by the five-week mark... honestly, don't even sweat it—if fertilization had actually happened, the doctor would’ve caught it on the ultrasound for sure. I totally spiraled once like that too; my doctor didn't see anything either, and then boom, my period showed up the very next day...
