p.s. Let's not conflate standard American English with liturgical phrasing.
The hymn goes something like this:
Christ has risen from the dead,

It’s not "Christ is Risen" spelled like that—it should be "Christ is Risen."
I’ve noticed people from the Midwest constantly say it the wrong way.

A little observation regarding liturgical language.
The tradition remains consistent across both the American Orthodox and Russian churches, utilizing Old Church Slavonic.
Lately, there’s been a shift toward using modern American vernacular, though I find the older style more aesthetically pleasing. For instance,
something like "ize jesi na nebesi" sounds much better than,
"who art in heaven."
