Help with Google folder...

Good afternoon...

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place for this, but I figured I'd lay out what's happening and see if anyone has some advice to offer...

So, here's the deal:
A folder named Google suddenly appeared in my Documents folder. Inside, there's another one labeled "common," along with some "conf" files...
When I select the folder, it says it's "😈shared with everyone...
" I tried adjusting the permissions to stop the sharing, but it won't let me. It just refuses to cooperate...
I also tried to Delete the folder, but it keeps coming back no matter what I do...

I went into the Registry and scrubbed everything related to Google, yet that folder is still sitting there...

I ran scans with Malwarebytes and various Spybot tools, but they didn't flag a single thing...

The computer seems clean...

But honestly, that folder is starting to drive me crazy...😵

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this?

Reinstalling macOS isn't really an option for me right now...

Have you ever messed around with any of those specialized tools meant for completely wiping out program installations—maybe something like Revo Uninstaller?

? Just check to see if it isn't some random browser plugin you can just yank out... besides, AdwCleaner is actually pretty good at sniffing out stuff like that so you can just Delete it.

That file is being used by Norton Antivirus; it keeps generating it to store its own data. Honestly, I don't see why it bothers you so much.
The fact that the file is there just means you have that Norton Antivirus suite—the one for protection, speed-up, and cleaning—active on your machine because you chose to install it. I find it hard to believe you installed it by accident alongside something else, since the actual installer walks you through specific prompts you have to agree to first...

Good grief, what even is Google? People really need to stick to reputable antivirus software instead of downloading nonsense like this or those "registry cleaner pro" scams. Then everyone acts shocked when their computer starts crawling like a snail.

Someone over on Buggy's forum suggested using CCleaner...
A supposed "all-in-one" cleaner... people swear by it...
So, naturally, I gave it a shot. It didn't live up to the hype for me at all...
I decided to Delete it...

I used Revo Uninstaller to get rid of it...

But here's the thing: there's this one folder left behind that just won't budge. Every time I try to kill it, it pops right back up...

My computer is running fine otherwise—no lag, no glitches, nothing acting up...

It feels clean and organized, with no other trace of that Google software left...

Except for that one stubborn folder...

The second "something" starts bringing it back, it means your computer isn't actually "clean." If it were truly clean, there wouldn't be anything left to resurrect.

I’m really not being stubborn here. 😁 It’s just an award-winning antivirus/malware tool—it actually works, and the interface is incredibly straightforward.

I finally managed to delete that Google folder, and it hasn't tried to crawl back since... I did a bit of digging through the directories on my primary drive and stumbled upon
another leftover folder from Norton Antivirus...
Once I cleared that out, everything finally settled down and went back to normal....

Is anyone else still running that McAfee software?
Just wondering if it's actually worth installing on a machine.....
