I took Triquilar, about 2 hours ago 😁

But my friend says she’s getting the same "6 months" advice on her prescription too, though I totally blanked on which pills she’s actually on (different from mine)!

Maybe it just depends on the doctor?

I have no idea. But hey, I'll find out soon enough. 🙂
Thanks anyway. 😉

I'm starting my first pack of Cilest after a break lasting more than a year. During that interval, I didn't have a period unless it was triggered by hormone therapy. Since I began taking Cilest, my ovaries have been hurting terribly 😢 is this happening because the medication is affecting them, perhaps because they are resuming their normal function again? I'm wondering if I have any actual reason to be concerned.

I’ve been on Yaz birth control for a year now, and ever since I started, my boyfriend and I have been dealing with yeast infections every two months. I’ve visited my gynecologist twice just to get prescriptions for Canesten, and I’ve picked it up from the pharmacy myself a few times, but it always comes back after two months. My doctor eventually prescribed Rojazol, which I had to use again just a couple of days ago. I told my gynecologist how much this is affecting us; I can't seem to shake these issues, and it’s becoming a real burden having to go through treatment every other month.😠

Is anyone else here taking Yaz and experiencing similar problems?😕

best,

I was on the beach and didn't deal with any of those issues at all. The only thing was, I just wasn't getting enough volume, so I ended up stopping them altogether.

Someone actually cornered me about this once—asking if you could really just start taking birth control pills whenever you felt like it during your cycle. I tried to walk them through the logic, but honestly, nobody seemed to buy it. I ended up doing a bit of digging just to prove I wasn't making things up, and I managed to find at least one instance where a doctor explains the actual process. I’m not looking to start some grand debate here, I'm just laying out the facts:

Hello, ladies.

I started taking Cilest on April 2nd, which was the second day of my period. This cycle was triggered by some hormones my gynecologist prescribed—not Duphaston, but a different set of five tablets he gave me because I hadn't had a period for seven months since stopping birth control.

On the first day, I had to get my hormone levels checked, and the doctor told me I could start the pills immediately on the second day, regardless of whether it was the first or second day of the cycle. Now, typically, a period is expected around the 28th day, correct? Does that mean I should expect my period around April 29th or 30th? I have finished the entire pack, having taken the last pill on Thursday the 21st, but the instructions state that menstruation usually begins two or three days after finishing the pills. I am feeling a bit lost; I used these pills three years ago before taking a break last summer, and I honestly cannot recall how my first period behaved back then. So, when exactly should I be expecting it?🤷 Previously, when I stopped the pills on a Monday, my period would arrive by Friday, which is a four-day window. But since this is my first period since restarting the medication, I am completely confused.

If anyone can make sense of what I am asking here...😬

If I had been drinking pure spirits, this is how it would have gone. I’d stop drinking on Friday and wouldn't touch another drop until the following Friday, if you catch my drift!😁

I don't find myself particularly inclined toward the performative aspects of modern femininity, though I suppose there is a certain quiet utility in being perceived as such when the situation demands it. It isn't about the glitter or the noise; it’s more about navigating the world with a specific kind of grace that others often mistake for fragility. One learns quite quickly that softness can be its own kind of leverage, provided you know exactly how to use it. kaže:
If I had been drinking pure spirits, this would be how it played out: I’d have stopped on Friday and wouldn't see another drop until the following Friday, if you catch my drift. 😁

I suppose I wondered if the experience would be identical to my first period after starting the pills, but regardless, there is no need for me to spiral into hysterics just yet; I haven't even missed a cycle, as it has only been four days.

hey there, hey 🙂

so...
I'm thinking about starting birth control pills, and I'm planning to switch to a different OB-GYN. My period should be arriving in a few days or so.
When I see her, she'll probably send me for blood work and all that, but what about the timing? 😁
If someone could walk me through how this works—the whole process of visiting the doctor to request the prescription 🙂
Besides, my cycles aren't always regular, so things can get a bit unpredictable, if you know what I mean 🤣 .. 😱
It’ll be my first time using these pills, and I’m really interested in trying them out 🥳
thanks 😘

I need urgent help... I've been taking Triquilar for a few months now and I’ve never missed a dose; I always take it at 8:00 PM. But yesterday, I forgot, and I didn't get around to taking it until 11:00 AM this morning—so there was a twelve-hour gap. I'm currently on week three, and the instructions for this specific type of pill vary depending on which week you miss. For week three, it says I should either stop immediately for a seven-day break or just finish the pack and then buy a new one right away without waiting. I only have two pills left—today and tomorrow—and I honestly don't know if skipping that seven-day break is a smart move. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing with these pills, or can anyone offer some guidance...

You just head in there and tell her you want to start on the pill. Plain and simple.
She’ll do an exam and most likely send you for some blood tests—though honestly, only a few doctors insist on doing full panels like that—but if I were you, I’d definitely push for them (things like a CBC, iron levels, cholesterol, clotting factors... you could even ask for hormone testing, though I doubt they'll order it unless there's a specific issue). It all depends on the doctor, really. Anyway, just stay brave and patient. 🙂

I take Triquilar too. It happened to me. Pick whichever option you want; it doesn't matter. Do whatever works best for you.
If you overlap the packs, you might skip your period entirely or just get some spotting that lasts a while. But that isn't a guarantee.

Hey guys, ladies, I need some advice.

So, over the last five or six months, my cycle has gone totally haywire. It’s stretched out to 42 days now, and I’ve started getting this brownish, light spotting right around ovulation. And since everything is such a mess, I’m supposed to start on birth control—specifically Yaz. My OB-GYN told me to start taking the first pill on the very first day of my period, which I get, but here’s the catch: this "spotting during ovulation" thing lasts way too long. I honestly can’t tell if what I'm seeing right now is still just that weird discharge or if my actual period has finally started. So, I'm stuck wondering if I should just take the first pill or not.

Anyway, the doctor basically told me not to sweat the spotting, said it happens, especially since my whole cycle is out of whack anyway.

So, my question is, how much am I going to screw up my cycle if I take the first pill today and it turns out this isn't actually day one of my period, but just more of that random spotting?

Since the prescription for these pills now lasts for six months, I was wondering if you can just get it extended at the gynecologist's office, or if you have to go through a full exam again?

I got my prescription on November 15th, and I picked up my sixth box about two weeks ago. Since the script is valid until May 15th, would I be allowed to pick up a seventh box using this same one? Or is there a limit where you aren't supposed to grab more than six boxes per prescription? Sorry if I'm making this sound more complicated than it is, I'm just a little unsure. 😬

You just gotta keep going 🙂 At least that’s how it worked for me
As for the other thing—honestly, it probably just depends on which pharmacy you hit up 😁

You can technically start whenever you want during your cycle, though you should probably use extra protection for the first two weeks, just because we aren't entirely sure if today actually marks the start of your period.

It won't be a disaster. It's entirely possible that you'll keep having this kind of spotting through the entire first pack; maybe it'll stop once you start the pills, or maybe the bleeding will actually pick up. Anything can happen. But by the time you hit the second pack, things should settle down and be fine.
