I mean, I guess I’m just sitting here thinking about how everything feels kind of... mid lately. Maybe it’s just me. I don't know. It feels like you try to get something done, like actually make progress on a project or even just decide what to grab for lunch, and then life just sort of gets in the way. It's weird. Everything is just constantly moving, but nothing is actually happening, if that makes sense? Probably doesn't. Just a thought, I guess. Anyway. kaže:
Wait, so Nitko isn't on Lindynette birth control? I mean, I guess that’s just how it is, right? Maybe. Not sure why we're even talking about this, honestly. Just feels like a random thing to bring up. Or maybe it isn't. Who knows.😢

I’m on them now. I was using Logest before, but then my gynecologist suggested switching over to Lyndynette—apparently, they're identical to Logest, just a few cents cheaper at the pharmacy. I only just started the new ones, so I haven't really noticed any difference yet. Just hang in there for a bit and we'll see... fingers crossed for the best, I guess. 🙂

@silverwolf74 are you in the States right now? I’ve never actually heard of those pills before—just wondering—so I wanted to ask... do you have a link or something so I can compare the ingredients to Logest? 🙂

So, the dosage is 20 mcg of ethinyl estradiol and 75 mcg of gestodene. I guess that’s what it is. Just stating the facts, I suppose. 🙂

For those of you who packed on weight from Yaz, how long did it take to get back to your old self after you quit?
I've been on them for 9 months now and I've gained 12 pounds😢. Thinking about ditching them for something else, even though these were prescribed for my acne. I was on Loestrin before this and never had these issues, but since switching to Yaz, I've even developed cellulite
. Mind you, I've been hitting aerobics four times a week for the last year, plus plenty of cycling and rolling around. My diet hasn't changed at all. Nothing extra

I find that part a little hard to swallow, if I’m being honest. It reminds me of that old cliché: "I don't eat anything, yet I'm still gaining weight."

You don't have to believe me. That's your call. Just look it up or ask around and you'll see that Diane is pretty much the only contraceptive with such a notorious side effect. That’s why they aren't used as standard birth control unless someone is being reckless. Not sure why you think you'd lie to yourself or everyone on this forum, but whatever 🤣. My OB-GYN confirmed the weight gain for me too—she actually said they cause more water retention than any other pill. When I first started them, my main priority was fixing my skin because my face was a total disaster. I'm not saying my diet is perfect, but I work out way more now than I ever did before, and I still gained weight. Plus, I never dealt with cellulite until I went on Diane.
Before those, I was on Logest for five years and everything was fine. No side effects at all.

I had the exact same experience, and the weight finally started coming off after about four months. I ended up gaining seven pounds total over the year I spent on them to manage my PCOS, and the water retention was just brutal—by the third month of taking Diana, I could barely squeeze into my jeans, and that was with me being incredibly careful about everything I ate. I felt constantly bloated🤷. Since then, I’ve switched to Yasmin and have been on it for three years; during that time, I’ve only gained two pounds, mostly because I don't eat particularly healthy and I rarely have the time to whip up a home-cooked meal every day. I shudder to think what would have happened if I’d stayed on Diana given my current diet; they are definitely the worst of the bunch when it comes to weight gain, even if they were admittedly very effective for my specific symptoms. For what it's worth, neither I nor my family are typically prone to putting on weight.
How much longer are you stuck taking them?

If I decide to go digging through Google, I’ll likely find endless threads on various forums claiming that every single pill on the market causes weight gain 😂. Meanwhile, if you actually bother asking a doctor, they'll mostly just tell you these things increase your appetite rather than actually putting food in your mouth
.
Generally speaking, for those who struggle with weight gain while taking something like Diane, doctors usually suggest switching over to Yasmin, or occasionally Cilest. But honestly, none of them seem to tackle the visible side effects of PCOS—like the acne you're dealing with—quite as effectively as Diane does

rowdylynx38, thanks for sharing. I’ve got six months left, but my doctor told me to call if things go south. Got an appointment in 20 days.
Sigurna, I don't have PCOS. The acne is just part of a different hormonal imbalance; PCOS isn't the cause here. I've never heard anyone complain about weight gain or water retention with other pills as much as they do with Diane. And don't even get me started on cellulite. I never had a trace of it before this...

Well, if Logest worked for you, then Lindynette would probably be just fine too, since they're basically identical. The only real difference is that they’re roughly $3.25 cheaper 👍.

Thanks. Haven't heard of those before... I'll ask my OB-GYN if she even carries the ones you mentioned... 🙂Logest used to be incredible for me, like I wasn't drinking anything at all. How much are they actually going for now? Are you picking them up here in the States, or back home? When I bought Logest, they were around... $23 Feels like that, but it was over a year ago... prices might have gone up by now.

So, here's what I managed to dig up

Logest

Some other names they go by:

* Arianna®
* Femiane®
* Femoden®
* Lindynette®

Lindynette are available here in the US, they go for a bit less than $23, and if I remember right, Logest was around $27

Hey everyone,
A friend and I—both young, ambitious students and future scientists—are putting together a survey for our university project. We really need your help, so please, please lend us a hand. The study focuses on contraception, specifically looking at oral contraceptives (the pill).
I am asking on behalf of both of us: PLEASE help us out by taking just five minutes of your time to fill this out. I can't thank you all enough in advance. You can find the link to the survey below. =) 🙏

What is with this sudden deluge of surveys lately? I suppose having a dedicated thread for them here is generally permitted—at least we can try to be somewhat helpful that way. Just to clear up any potential confusion, you were banned because you essentially spammed the entire Women’s Health section by posting the exact same thing across twenty different threads that had absolutely nothing to do with it—ranging from genital herpes to vaginal health.

Laura Mendoza said:Does a prescription for any specific pill at any pharmacy now carry a six-month validity period? Thanks! 🙂

Well? 😁
My six-month window is closing fast, so I’d really like to know if my prescription access is about to be cut off or if I'm set for the next half year.

I reckon it's worth whatever it says on the tin 🤷
Mine last time also said it was good for 6 months

There’s absolutely nothing here. It hasn't ever shown anything for me, and my understanding was that the rule had always been a full year. However, I'm asking because just a few months ago, I read right here on the forum that the new policy changed it to six months. 🤷

Honestly, just head over to the CVS and see what they've got... For me, everything I've bought for the last two years has had a six-month expiration date!

Yeah, I don't have anyone else to turn to.

What kind of pills are you taking? It might be related to that. 🤷
