Login issues

I’m running into a bit of a snag getting logged into the forum. It’s one of those weird glitches where I type in my username and password, and everything seems fine—I even get the "welcome" message saying I’ve successfully logged in. But then, once the browser redirects me back to the main forum page, it's like the whole thing just forgot who I am. The login fields show up completely empty, and if I scroll to the bottom, it tells me I don't have permission to do anything because I'm supposedly not logged in... even though the initial login process felt perfectly normal. 🤷

It happens pretty often, actually. I usually have to try logging in several times before it finally sticks. Any advice? Please, help me out here...

Did you try refreshing the page?

I did, but honestly? It didn't do much. I mean, we all know how it goes—sometimes a webpage just hangs there, and a quick refresh fixes everything. No big deal. But this has happened at least five times in the last few days, which is just... not normal. If it had happened once, I wouldn't say a word, but this constant glitching... 🤷

Hm... There’s been some server maintenance going on over the last few days. That might be the culprit. Just keep an eye on it for the next couple of days and see if it persists. If the issue sticks around, let me know...

Just tell your browser to remember your login and password, and honestly, don't even bother logging out of the forum—just hit the X on the tab instead... and then there really shouldn't be any issues, right?

Just grab CCleaner and clean out your PC. (Install it, don't mess with the settings, just leave everything as is and hit run...)

When you log in and put in your username and password, click that "stay logged in" box.

If that doesn't work, maybe uninstall your browser, run CCleaner, and hit registry on the right side. (once the scan finishes and shows those "junk passwords," just hit fix)

Then reinstall the browser. See if that works.

If it still won't work, I guess you should download Malwarebytes, run an update, and do a full scan.

I mean, the only thing left is formatting Windows, but I really don't feel like typing all that out. 😬

Ugh, I’m having a total nightmare trying to log in. I was literally just on here half an hour ago using my old handle (restlessfox9), but now when I try to get back in, it’s telling me my password is wrong? 😕 Seriously, I’ve tried five different times now and it keeps saying "incorrect password" every single time.
To make matters even worse, I have absolutely zero clue which email address I used to register this thing. 🙄

Believe it or not, I finally managed to log in after what felt like an eternity of failed attempts.

It’s no use...
I've been trying to log in for five days straight, but nothing works.
Can anyone help me out?

It happens to me about ten times a day, and at least once daily, I run into this exact issue.
Ever since the last major site maintenance.
Sometimes I'll be right in the middle of sending a post—something I spent a couple of minutes writing—and it won't send because it thinks I'm not logged in.

Same exact thing is happening to me. Sometimes I try to submit a report and the damn thing won't even register—not once, not twice, but three times in a row. It's ridiculous. Really hoping there's a fix coming for this soon.

Maybe give clearing your browser history a shot. I can't promise it’ll actually fix things—no guarantees there—but honestly, it's worth a damn try.

I’ve run into this exact same issue myself. Even now, it still happens occasionally, though not nearly as often as it used to. I’ll enter my username and password, hit the login button, and then—just like what happened to rustyseal8—this notification pops up. When I look back at the fields, my credentials have been wiped clean. It feels like I haven't logged in at all, but technically, I am. I actually went to check on my most recent post just to be sure, and there it was: a little green light under my handle showing I was online.

I'll just drop my question right here instead of cluttering things up with a brand new thread...

So, I hit the "sign out" button—which seems perfectly fine at first glance—
but then it tells me:
All cookies have been cleared!
But here’s the kicker: if I go into Google, search for the forum, click the link, and land back on the site, I’m still logged in—no username or password required. Just... bam, right back in. 🤷

By the way, this is happening in Opera. Everything works perfectly fine in Internet Explorer. 🤷

Just wanted to jump in here. I'm running into the same headache everyone else is describing, but I don't get it. They sent me a new password via email, yet here we are again. I’ve gone through all the usual steps—clearing my cache, deleting cookies, everything on my PC. It’s strange. Every time I step away from my computer and try logging in with a fresh account, it works perfectly fine. 👍But that's clearly not the issue at hand. My mistake. 🤷👎

@Harold Kern5 - maybe you just had a typo in your password? Or even your username?
Then again, the server's been acting a bit glitchy lately, so that could be part of it too. If it was hitting a snag right when you tried to log in, it might have just rejected the info.

I actually came over here specifically to start a thread about these issues, and now I see I'm definitely not alone in this. For me, it happens practically every single day—especially when I see things in **bold**—but today it’s been particularly bad. It feels like every time I click from one page to another, or try to send a quick message or check my inbox, the site just kicks me out and tells me I'm not logged in, forcing me to start the whole process all over again. It's honestly such a hassle. 😢
