Whatever this "mixing letters" thing is, it’s almost certainly an issue with your hardware (or how you're using it), not a bug with this site. If it were a site-wide issue, everyone would be complaining about it. Since they aren't, the problem is on your end.

Nothing. Just forget the account. An admin could change your password or email, but you have zero way to prove the account is actually yours. If they allowed that, anyone could hijack any account they found logged in. Like if you go to a Starbucks, someone leaves their laptop open, and you just claim their account is yours. It would be a disaster.

It's simple, really. If you know the password, you can swap the email by proving you own it. If you don't know the password, you can send a reset to your email and log in there to prove it's yours.

But if you don't have the password OR the email... yeah, you're stuck. You can't prove it's yours.

Here’s an example. I type one thing, and it comes out as gibberish.
For instance, if I type a word, the letters get swapped. I tried typing very slowly, one letter at a time, and noticed that when I hit a key, nothing appears immediately; instead, the character only shows up once I press the *next* key, and even then, it displays the previous character incorrectly. I visit other forums all the time and never deal with this. Maybe someone else is seeing this too. So, there's your "vroom vroom" explanation.
I guarantee my computer is fine. Based on what I know, the issue is clearly here. Apparently, I'll have to sit through some remedial training on this forum after all.

And that’s exactly what I proved right here. Just look at ten or more of my previous posts if you don't believe me.
So, here’s an example. I type "write" and it comes out as "wite." Basically, when I hit a key, nothing happens, then when I press the next one, the first letter suddenly pops up late. It's ridiculous.
I have to say, I check other forums too, and I never run into this kind of nonsense elsewhere. Maybe someone else is dealing with this same issue. That’s all I have to say about that "vroom vroom" crap.
I guarantee the computer is fine, to the best of my knowledge. Clearly, I’ll need to spend more time studying the rules here on this forum.

I haven't been registered here for two months; I've actually been around for two years. So, I already know the ropes regarding this forum and how to log in.

This definitely has nothing to do with this forum; it’s strictly an issue with you or your computer. I'm a Computer Science graduate who builds web applications using the exact same tech stack this site runs on. I know this stuff inside and out. If I tell you the problem is on your end, believe me. Any other explanation just doesn't hold water. It's obvious to anyone with a basic grasp of web technology.

I already stated that this is a fundamental issue with the forum itself. However, I also provided two workarounds that actually work—I've tested them myself—to help you get by until the bug is fixed. As for when a permanent fix is coming? Who knows. But don't hold your breath; it won't be anytime soon. Just use one of the solutions I gave you.

Yeah, it’s probably just this site. It only happens here. Setting up multiple user profiles on my computer is likely the best move.

The login process on this site is an absolute joke. I’ve attempted to sign in three separate times, only to be kicked back out every single time. This forum is performing poorly, and frankly, it’s unacceptable. Are you actually planning to address these technical failures? It is hard to believe such basic functionality remains broken. And before anyone starts, don't you dare try to tell me the issue lies with my computer
. Give me a break—use some common sense. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with these constant interruptions when all I want to do is log in and participate in a discussion. Just fix it.

lol finally figured it out after spending twenty days straight driving myself crazy trying to type in my username and password... and then the site just greets me warmly and stays logged in on its own.
If I try to open the forum directly and log in it won't let me, but if someone sends me a direct link through something like Slack, I click it and boom, I'm already signed in.😁
So now I've got two windows open where this one is the one I'm typing in (since I'm logged in via that Slack link) and the other is the one I opened manually from my bookmarks.
The bookmark version still refuses to let me log in, even though everything is working perfectly fine in this window.

What a total glitch...😁

So when you go back to the page, the browser pulls the saved info and logs you in automatically.

The fact that it won't let you log in when you type it manually suggests the browser is losing the session during redirection, and the fact that the Skype link works means you have a saved script, but for some reason, the browser isn't finding it.

Maybe CCleaner and reinstalling the browser would fix it. You’d have to make sure to check the box in CCleaner to clear "saved form data."

Honestly, what would freak me out is if some virus messed with those functions, since there are viruses out there that love to tweak those scripts to steal Facebook passwords or credit card numbers.

Either way, the issue is on the client side, not the server. So it's probably your PC, not the forum.

I find myself unable to agree with that assessment for one singular reason: the sheer number of members reporting this exact same glitch... I have personally attempted to log in using my own password from various different computers, and the issue remains constant. If one machine is malfunctioning, it is statistically impossible for every other device to be broken in the same way.🙄

After my prolonged period of debate and heavy criticism, I feel it is necessary to offer some credit where it is due. I want to commend the individuals working behind the scenes to ensure this forum is actually improving. From my perspective, everything is functioning correctly now and the issues have been resolved. My compliments go out to everyone involved, from the administrators down to the moderators. 👍

So, I ended up doing things my own way—when I was logging in, I went ahead and clicked the "remember me" box. The issue is that now I can't seem to log out properly. Every time I try to sign out and then head back over to the forum, I find myself already logged in, which is definitely not what I was aiming for. My computer is actually set up specifically so it doesn't save any passwords, but even after a full restart, when I come back to the site, I'm still logged in.
