Lost Boy (1987)

Does anyone recall that campy rock-horror flick about teenage vampires? I caught a broadcast on satellite the other night after ages, and it holds up quite well. What are your thoughts?

How could I forget? Easily one of the best flicks starring Corey Haim and Corey Feldman...
The only thing that messes with my head is realizing how much time has passed since then... 1987, man... 😛😢
As for a sequel, who knows if it'll even work. Those "kids" aren't exactly kids anymore, so I'm pretty skeptical about it being some massive hit...

To me, Lost Boy is easily one of the top-tier vampire flicks out there. I still vividly remember staying up late with my girlfriends from high school back when it first hit VHS; none of us were brave enough to actually watch it alone in the dark... at the time, it felt like a genuine, heart-pounding horror movie. 😁

It popped up on HBO recently, so I gave it another watch—this movie is a total 1980s icon. It’s incredibly stylized with killer vampire action; sure, the plot is a bit predictable, but that doesn't make it any less of a blast. I've always been a fan of how they blend genres, specifically when they toss a little levity into a thriller/horror setting. (Like those Frog brothers! 🤣 )

Hands down the best vampire movie ever made, paired with one of the most incredible soundtracks... especially that main theme. It’s just an absolute masterpiece. I honestly don't get why Joel isn't making movies this good anymore.😁

A true cinematic legend. I’ve probably seen this one at least 30 times now, and I can only pray they don't completely butcher it with some unnecessary sequel...

In my book, Fright Night is easily the best vampire flick out there.

Honestly, Carpenter's vampire flick is just superior to everything else🙏

Yeah, so I guess a sequel actually is coming out. I was just scrolling through IMDb and stumbled upon this page for *Fright Night*. It’s one of those movies that really sticks with you, I guess. It's got that classic vibe, sort of like when you'd find an old VHS tape at a local rental shop back in the day. It makes me think about how much certain horror tropes have changed since then, though some things stay pretty much the same. Maybe it's just nostalgia, but there's something about that specific era of filmmaking that feels so distinct. I don't know, I could probably ramble on about it for hours, but anyway, just thought it was worth a look if anyone else is feeling a bit nostalgic tonight. 😈

The trailer doesn't exactly scream "masterpiece," I guess. Still, that first movie had this vibe, kind of like a horror version of The Goonies, you know? It might be interesting to see how those two handle things now that they're grown up. Maybe.

Man, this takes me right back to being a kid... I've always had a huge soft spot for those cult classic teen horror flicks.
Are these movies just smelling like mothballs at this point? Or what?
