Some guy just keeps trolling on Reddit, and when you report him to the admins, you’re the one who gets penalized. Ryan Vaughn7 is basically an untouchable troll!
It’s honestly embarrassing for what used to be the premier community on the entire American web!

Honestly, it’s pretty pathetic for what used to be the best community on the whole American web.

Some people take six years to check back, others take about a year. Doesn't really matter though, as long as you eventually show up.

What's the deal here?

I laid out my reasoning and provided clear quotes to back up exactly what I meant, but since your buddies here lack even a shred of democratic spirit, they wiped all my responses and handed me red cards instead. If you’re feeling brave, go ahead and tell those same people that we don't need babysitting or constant moderation. I am perfectly capable of answering questions—especially when they're just as low-level trolling and insults as yours were.

On "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)"? I honestly don't get why it bothers you so much, let alone why you'd dedicate an entire thread just to it.

Because you're trolling as a moderator, and everyone just looks the other way. There's zero consistency here. Or should I just paraphrase our moderator Nicky: "Just standard spam, nothing useful for the topic at hand."
I get flagged on certain threads just for having a passionate take on the subject, yet you let total garbage posts slide through without a second thought. And honestly? This isn't even the first time.

Exactly... it’s honestly nothing unusual to see a moderator just zone out and start spamming, but those kinds of outbursts really should be met with some actual penalties from the higher-ups... personally, I used to report Ryan Vaughn7's trolling posts all the time, even back here on Reddit, though I can't quite remember if anyone ever actually did anything about it...

Garbage?? A "ticking time bomb"?? This guy just made a move that is completely unprecedented in the history of the Pope and the Church (not counting anything from six centuries ago), and you're telling me I don't have the right to comment on it as a massive global turning point?

Given your track record here on Reddit, how you treat other members, and your stance on basically everything, a post like this is exactly that: a potential powder keg.

Your provocations are way too frequent. There are far too many of your sarcastic, condescending, and one-sided posts where you belittle public figures, major events, and—worst of all—other users on this site. This definitely isn't an accident, and it certainly isn't well-intentioned.
As a moderator, shouldn't you have a higher sense of responsibility regarding your own behavior, your posting style, and showing respect to others?

Just yesterday, two of my posts were deleted because I suggested you should be disciplined, and I ended up with two strikes. That is exactly what you deserve, at the very least. Deleting content that could clearly spark unnecessary conflict while simultaneously punishing a troll post? Not okay.

As a moderator, you really should have a better sense of how you carry yourself and show some basic respect for others.
Yesterday, two of my own posts were deleted because I suggested you should be disciplined, and I ended up with two strikes. That’s exactly what you deserve. Deleting content that clearly sparks unnecessary conflict while simultaneously penalizing actual trolling is just wrong.

You didn't actually answer me. Let me try again, with a bit more context: This individual just made a move unprecedented in the history of the Pope and the Church (not counting anything from 600 years ago), and you're telling me I don't have the right to comment on this as a global turning point? Why is that considered trash, trolling, or a "sensitive topic"? Where is the sarcasm, the belittling, or the condescension? Honestly, I'm lost.

Ryan Vaughn7 said:You didn't actually answer my question at all. Let me restate it and add a bit more context: A man just made a move unprecedented in the history of the Papacy and the Church (not counting anything from 600 years ago), and you're telling me I don't have the right to comment on this as a global turning point? Why is that considered garbage, trolling, or a "sore spot"? Where is the sarcasm or the attempt to belittle or downplay it? Honestly, I just don't get it.

Even if there were an assassination attempt on the Pope, nothing would change. This current shift—which is much smaller and far less dramatic—isn't going to change a thing either.
Just like what you wrote here, it adds absolutely zero value to the discussion. It was just one hidden, rather low-level provocation. And let me say it again: this isn't your first time doing this.
Looking at how the moderators and admins are handling this, it’s clear this won't be the last time, because you're being allowed way too much leeway, seriously!

briskfox65 said:Look, this minor tweak isn't exactly a seismic shift. It’s not going to change much at all.

It’s a shame that the crowd of global commentators and analysts—most of whom are far more distinguished and brilliant than I am—don't see eye to eye with you. At first, I thought you were just annoyed that I used a bit of poetic flair, but now it seems like you've drifted off into some murky waters of reasoning that I’d rather not swim in. Anyway, having a different opinion isn't "trolling" by definition. As for those warnings you received, you should probably take that up with the moderators. Best.

Apples and oranges, night and day, right from wrong...
Can someone please explain how a random thread title has anything to do with this constant trolling of both members and the moderator, Ryan Vaughn7?

I simply issued a civilized warning regarding his unacceptable trolling, which he carries out through these petty, useless posts. We all know today is a new day and things change; we don't need him lecturing us on the obvious.

If low-quality posts aren't tolerated—and his certainly isn't—then why is he being treated so leniently?

It seems to me that Ryan Vaughn7 is enjoying an entirely unearned reputation among the moderator community. He shuts down threads just because they don't fit his worldview, and frankly, he's condescending to everyone here.

He’s earned himself a serious reprimand, for crying out loud!

Honestly, it’s great that this stays right here
letting everyone witness the sheer depth of the political mindset you lot have been peddling for years now 😉😁
and then, like clockwork, you all show up here on Reddit to daydream about injustices and fight ghosts that don't even exist
It’s honestly perfect 😁

Look, I’m not saying Ryan Vaughn7 is some kind of saint—far from it—but dragging him into this nonsense is just plain ridiculous

Can someone please walk me through how a thread title about one thing has anything to do with this guy repeatedly trolling both members and Ryan Vaughn7?

The thing is, filing a complaint like "this person is constantly trolling" is a tough nut to crack. It's just too vague. You really need to point to specific incidents or drop links to actual posts so there's something concrete to look at.

It seems like everything here keeps boiling down to one simple rule.
One ideology (or let's call it a support system) pitted against another, regardless of any mistakes or crimes committed by the "untouchables."

Then there’s the second stance—which is much more dangerous and ultimately more damaging. On one side, you have a huge group of members who actually have a backbone and their own opinions (opinions that certain "untouchables" just don't like). On the other side, you have us—the mods and admins, the "infallible" ones even when we provoke, troll, or spam—and, of course, that segment of members who blindly echo the moderators' views and will follow them straight into the fire.

In my opinion, this "us vs. them" mentality is pathetic. Why? Because the mods and admins possess tools that certain individuals in that inner circle use specifically to silence anyone who presents a clear, well-argued perspective.
And isn't that dangerous for the forum? After all, shouldn't a forum actually function as a place for real conversation?

I appreciate the good intentions here, but please do your homework before posting stuff like this. Just yesterday, I quoted my own complaints twice, yet my fellow moderators—Nick and Rezoner—deleted them both times and handed me two warnings.

Thanks for being willing to help, because I have zero interest in baiting people, making accusations, or causing a scene. But I simply can't accept a double standard where one member gets treated differently than a moderator with 11,000 posts.

Supermoderator.
There’s another red-labeled moderator who’s an expert at trolling and being a jerk, too... and he clearly doesn't give a damn.
