Dežulović's piece from Slobodna

Boris Pavelić from New List got canned because they ran his article quoting Manolić claiming Karamarko was involved with the UDBA

America 🤦

Firing people and death threats—it’s just become Karamarko's standard toolkit for censorship.

Smrdežulović actually knows how to write some solid sports pieces. As for anything else? He should probably just be deported from the country.☕

Dežulović is easily the best columnist in this whole country

What I find most amusing, though, is seeing comments like Smrdežulović's, where the right-wing crowd whines about how America lacks a daily newspaper with a conservative, Christian Democratic slant. They act as if there’s this massive, urgent demand for one.

Well, if they're so desperate, someone should just go ahead and start one; then we can see if those "massive crowds" actually bother to buy it.

Personally, I don't pick up the Daily News or anything from Glas Koncil, because I have zero interest in filtering my news through such a narrow worldview. Honestly, who would ever want to read Smrdežulović's nonsense, and more importantly, who on earth is forcing anyone to?

Oh, they definitely have plenty of reasons, and if they didn't, they wouldn't be whining so much! That's just how it goes—they cry about nothing just for the sake of complaining, unless there's actual money on the line and a chance to screw over the whole country.

Oh, absolutely; it’s much easier to just whine that the communists took over everything and held onto it all, effectively waving a red flag in everyone's face to stir the pot.

I read everything I stumble upon because it’s interesting, and I try to look at things through a scientific lens rather than just letting my own biases take the wheel. Why do I dig Dežulović? He doesn't obsess over facts, yet despite his obvious edge, he’s actually incredibly objective. Some people label him a communist or an anti-American, but the truth is, nobody can even counter his columns—mostly because there isn't a single bit of manipulation or factual error in them.

Since you say it doesn't exist, we still have American Weekly and even a softer version in Večernji. At least when it comes to print media...

And now we even have Dujmović in Slobodna...

Not to mention, if Hanžeković owns both Jutarnji and EPH, then we can't even call Jutarnji left-wing anymore—it's more like quasi-left. If it was ever truly left-wing, considering how close Pavić was with Dr. Ivo...

Of course, I find myself reading Raspudić out of curiosity too, and honestly, I’d probably pick up that mythical conservative daily as well if it actually offered any real quality.

It isn't that Jutarnji is anything special in terms of depth, but there simply isn't much competition left, and there are maybe two or three other outlets worth a glance.

@ James Anderson5

In my opinion, Večernji stays relatively balanced, but then again, if even a single "commie" gets involved, people immediately write off the whole publication as leftist propaganda.

EPH should technically lean slightly toward the left, or at least that’s what the new owner claimed; however, it functions primarily as a PR playground available to anyone if the boss isn't using it first. Personally, I found the endless praise heaped upon Mamić and Bandić during that first Sunday after the takeover absolutely nauseating. I haven't bought a single EPH publication since then.

By the way, when I caught the cover of the new Globus, I nearly lost my lunch:

You can probably imagine exactly what kind of article it turned out to be.

True. That Magazin is pretty much the only thing I'll pick up while sitting in a coffee shop.

I already mentioned that Večernji leans a bit toward the soft right, but I still check out their portal because they actually have some solid columnists. Plus, it's obvious from an airplane view that they favor the GOP, though that's hardly a surprise when you know all the stories regarding privatization back in the 90s...

But honestly, talking about any kind of "right wing" in America feels a bit silly when you realize about 100,000 former communists ended up right there after the war—with 70% shifting over after the elections according to an American research paper. The rest moved over to the DNC, so really, the country is just being run by two sides of the same old oligarchy. One side is slightly more idealistic, while the other is much more crooked...

EPH is basically a breeding ground for schizophrenic takes. They have to sell to everyone, so their publications just end up circling back to every possible opinion. I think Ante Tomić and Pavičić bailed on Slobodna after that whole mess with Dežulović, but they’re still writing for Jutarnji, which honestly ends up being the exact same thing.

Why even be surprised? The guy owning Magazin and EPH is Hanžeković, the same one who landed all those debt collection contracts for the city of Chicago and the Holding, and even paid the bail to get Miki out of jail. Of course they're going to run stories like this...

Just add Miki+Mamić+GOP=Dinamo to the equation and there you have it...

At this point, it's enough to make you physically ill...

That’s basically the playbook the HND pushes; you haven't complained about it until now, have you? 🤔

Exactly! Like how he went after those crazed extremists in Mostar because the idiot couldn't tell the difference between A. B. Šimić and A. Šantić 🤣

Look, I didn't bring it up because that's what the HND says. I brought it up because it's the damn truth. My take has nothing to do with their official stance; it's about the fact that these guys were fired for reasons that are legally and intellectually idiotic.

But honestly, you're better off going this route: tell him he's just as much of a joke as the HND. Just labeling someone like that and tossing out a category they have zero connection to doesn't work. To put it simply: if I say a single-pane cylindrical glass object is a cup, and Hitler says the exact same thing, does that make me an ally of his ideology? No. It doesn't work that way.

Yeah, he went after those crazed extremists in Mostar back then because the idiot can't tell the difference between A. B. Šimić and A. Šantić. 🤣

Didn't read it.

I said it based on my own experience where I haven't run into any factual errors yet. So yeah, there probably are some. There are mistakes. Congrats, you totally destroyed him.
