Politics is mostly a game, and I guess the Republicans were the first ones to really figure that out, which is probably why they grabbed power so quickly. They work hard to secure those votes from Americans living abroad because they know how much they matter. It’s essentially a battle, and in a fight for control, you have to use every tool at your disposal. The Democrats, on the other hand, seem pretty ineffective when it comes to reaching out to our fellow citizens overseas.

Of course nobody voted for the Democrats when they didn't even bother to show up out there.

Honestly, I don't think the Democrats stand a chance there. Most of those folks living outside the States, especially the older generation, hold some pretty extreme views back home. There's no way the Democrats will ever make inroads there. We should probably just scrap the overseas vote altogether—not even because they mostly favor the GOP, but because they aren't actually part of our daily lives here and don't share any real responsibilities toward the country...

The Democrats are making a massive blunder in the Midwest too—I'll never understand why they kept pushing certain candidates instead of finding someone more like a moderate local leader... the way they handled elections in places like the Rust Belt just proves my point...

Honestly, the timing for the Libertarian Party was just perfection. Right when the Democrats, Republicans, and Independents had completely burned themselves out in the media cycle, they swooped in right before the election as this viable third option. It was a photo finish. If the timing had been even slightly different, any one of those players could have snatched up 18 seats and held all the cards in deciding who runs the government. Brrrr...

Anthony Jackson2 said:The diaspora—88% voted for him. 🤦

And then there’s the runner-up at 3%—Mayor Adams. 🤦

Then people wonder why we shouldn't let them vote. It's not about stripping their voting rights—it's more about barring their entry to the States for the summer.

Of course they should.
Why the hell would I bother voting to influence politics in an already broken America when I’m living in an even more broken state?

But no, all those "big-shot Republicans" and the generals, colonels, and every other coward who spent the last war hiding in a basement are mass-calling and shaming anyone who doesn't fly back to DC or wherever to cast their damn vote for Karamarko.

God, save me from hunger, war, and these self-proclaimed great Americans.

It’s true. In the end, the Democrats and Republicans are deadlocked—it's a total circus. Let's just hope the Libertarians make a smart move; I'm betting they actually have some sense.

Honestly, whoever ends up giving their support to this minority government is just asking for a loss. I’m pretty sure neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are actually going to tackle the massive reforms being thrown at them. They’ll probably just try to pull off some surface-level, cosmetic changes, you know? When it comes to the real, heavy-duty stuff that would actually require their voters to make some sacrifices, they’re totally going to wiggle out of it. They'll stall, drag their feet, and then use that classic excuse about how everything is too expensive and there’s just no budget left. They're banking on Americans having short memories, I guess. They'll figure if the government collapses, they can just blame the centrists during the next election cycle since, well, running campaigns isn't cheap🤣.
And man, aside from the fact that even one month under a Democratic administration or a single day of Republican rule costs us way more than five whole elections combined... it's just messy. Whoever gets the support and then completely fails to follow through on those reforms—which they will, because if they actually cared about the reforms, they’d have done something already, thank God they had the chance—should be absolutely hammered at the polls in a special election. But hey, this is America, so anything can happen, I suppose. It's gonna be a circus, for sure.

Personally? I think none of those three—even at their absolute peak—would have come close to grabbing that many seats, let alone hitting double digits.

The Democrats have actually performed quite phenomenally over the last six months, at least regarding this political battle. Even with a campaign that lacked real substance, they managed to claw back about 10 to 15 percent of the deficit they held against the Republicans. It feels somewhat reminiscent of how the GOP managed to narrow the gap during the previous cycle.

One can almost see the fingerprints of high-priced American PR consultants all over the whole operation.

As for who might come in third, none of the candidates mentioned are anywhere near the Libertarian level, nor could they ever be. Essentially, they succeeded simply by hammering home a few clear messages—unlike the chaotic mess of the Green Party, the ideological vacuum of the far-right factions, or those fringe groups that remain both incoherent and overly aggressive—all while avoiding any major scandals on their own side.

I lowkey dream about a massive coalition between the Republicans and the Democrats just so we can finally scream that both parties lost🤣I mean, there's probably zero chance that actually happens, but hey, there's nothing wrong with having some wild fantasies, right?😁

If you don't actually know what a political party stands for before you hit the ballot, you aren't doing your job as a citizen. You’re just being a bad one.
fact.

personally, I wouldn't even count those votes.

It’s easy for people living abroad to talk, but what about the locals right here in the States who keep voting for these absolute thieves? Instead of this party just quietly fading into irrelevance, they’re still running circles around us back home. 🤦
Way to go, Republicans 👋
Maybe for once we’ll actually get someone in office who genuinely wants to see some positive change in this godforsaken country 👍
