Let me guess, the head of the association is Saša Broz, isn't she? 🙏

> looks incredible—an absolute stunner. Honestly, might even look better than >. Cinematography is my favorite part of filmmaking, so I’m hooked. Sure, there was a ton of hype, but mostly because of Leo (who wasn't anything special; Hardy totally outshined him, plus Gleeson and Poulter were just hanging around), rather than > or >. The buzz died down fast after the release, though, since most people found it way too slow and boring. It’s got its flaws, obviously, but if you actually care about movies, you’ll dig this. Catch it in a theater or wait for the Blu-ray.

Walter Grant5 said:You're wrong about Emmanuel Lubezki. I've never seen this many mainstream types obsessing over a cinematographer like they are right now.

Then you’ve got Knight of Cups. Honestly, there isn't much of a story there and the movie itself is just mediocre (though you could argue Knight of Cups barely qualifies as a film 😁), but Emmanuel Lubezki’s camerawork? That is top-tier.
It’s like having the most beautiful painting in the world—if the actual subject is just average, the frame won't make it great. It’s kind of like how blood is just another element in the atmosphere for The Revenant; visually, they might be on the same level, but that's about it.
I’d only recommend The Revenant for the cinematography. It’s worth seeing on a big screen in a theater, sure, but everything else falls flat. It’s probably the weakest work from Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
