Keith Miller30 said:If you happen to be following Silicon Valley, just a heads-up that season 4 has officially kicked off. In my opinion, it’s currently the absolute gold standard for comedy series, standing completely alone without any real competition, and isn't Erlich Bachman simply one of the most brilliant characters ever written? 👍
On another note, if anyone here is watching The Leftovers, I find myself wondering: is it actually worth the investment? I see that they're moving into season 3, but after finishing only the first season, I decided to walk away—do you think it's worth picking back up?
I wouldn't really call it a classic comedy; I maybe get a couple of laughs per season, mostly thanks to how Bachmanov talks. For me, the plot is way more interesting than the actual humor.

The Leftovers is a pretty creepy, weird show with a slow pace—definitely leans heavy on the drama side.
I found the first season intriguing, but by the second, they leaned way too hard into the weirdness. I just couldn't get into it anymore.

You make a fair point; it isn't your typical sitcom, as the storyline is genuinely gripping. Now I feel like I need to go back and watch the finale of season three just to refresh my memory on how things wrapped up. 😁

That slow pacing is actually exactly what caused me to drop it.

A pretty decent start to the season; honestly, it’s a good show.
But across all three seasons, the plot always seems to hinge on some illogical or just plain stupid decision made by the characters. That part bugs me a little, though it's still an easy watch.

I don't find this funny at all. I gave up on it after season two. 🤷
Rick and Morty is easily the most overrated thing out there right now.
Fargo is a total disaster. ☕

I'm going to pretend you didn't actually write this, or perhaps you just confused Silicon Valley with some other show? Honestly, giving up on a series like that is like deciding you're done with banana shakes—it just seems completely irrational, doesn't it?
As for Fargo, it’s a masterpiece; the way BBT handled things during that second season was nothing short of brilliant. 🙏

To me, Billy Bob is practically invisible throughout that second season. ☕

🤣
Honestly, I don't get how you can claim It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia isn't good while you're still into this stuff. But hey, whatever, to each their own. 😁

I actually really like Silicon Valley. It’s not even because it’s funny, but more because it does such a great job capturing the whole venture capital scene and the teams surrounding them. You almost never see anything like that here in America, given the way our economy is set up...
I was just reading this earlier this morning and I honestly can't believe it...
This guy was working at the European Union Parliament making about $3,500 a month, and he was sexually abusing his two dogs over at Knezija...
He was leading these disgusting conversations in both English and American, spanning at least 34 different email threads. He’d be sending photos of dogs in sexual situations with random guys, focusing on genitals, and he clearly had this whole weird sadomasochistic thing going on involving dogs and adult toys... As for what I know about him? He's single, doesn't have a girlfriend, and seems pretty timid and withdrawn...
It’s a shame we don't have the death penalty here in America...

And there you have it—that was just the first season. 😁
Noah Roberts46, you're absolutely right—taste is entirely subjective, isn't it? I find myself thinking about revisiting *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*, though if my memory serves me correctly, I gave up on it after just the first episode of the first season. Perhaps if I had given it a little more breathing room, I might have actually found it enjoyable? It reminds me of how I handled *Sons of Anarchy* a few years back; I watched the pilot, dismissed it as nonsense, and thought to myself, "There's no way I'm going to sit through a show about bikers." But then, by some stroke of luck, I stumbled upon a couple more episodes and realized it was actually one of the most brilliant series ever made. I suppose I might have made the same mistake with *House of Cards*, deciding not to watch it after that first episode, even though everyone says it's quite good.
James Anderson5, I find myself quite curious about how the IT sector actually operates, especially since I’m not in that world and have no real sense of how much reality aligns with what we see on screen. If you ever want to get a feel for the high-stakes atmosphere of VC, you might find it interesting to watch Billions.

House of Cards is a brilliant show; along with Fargo, it’s easily been one of the most satisfying things to hit screens in the last five years. I think Better Call Saul is great too, but honestly, I get why people might struggle with its slower pacing.

Someone needs to stage a scene from GoT for this guy. Chain him to a chair... let him bleed a little... then release the hounds on him..

I took a look at Billions and watched about half an episode, but I wasn't really feeling it... There’s just way too much posturing, and I couldn't find anyone to root for or even a decent bit of humor...
Honestly, if you want to see how the VC world actually works, it's way better to just watch Shark Tank... that's the real world, not some TV series...
I really liked House of Cards, especially those first couple of seasons, but then it just got way too unrealistic...
I honestly thought Stranger Things was better than most of the newer shows out there...

I prefer Shark Tank; it feels like the real world. Billions is just way too much preaching, based on the few episodes I've actually sat through. There aren't any likable characters or even a bit of humor, unlike in Silicon Valley...
If I had to pick from some of the more recent series, I really enjoyed Stranger Things...

Are you actually suggesting that Shark Tank is worth watching?
To be fair, I find myself tuning in every Saturday; while it hasn't quite captured the magic it once did, it remains perfectly acceptable. We even have one of our own people appearing on the show. 👍

My internet was acting up, I didn't mean to repeat myself like that...😁
It’s different now because the panel of wealthy investors is much more experienced, which makes it interesting. And honestly, props to Herjavec—it's wild that nobody has reached out to get him involved with American startups. Then again, knowing how things work around here, he probably saw what happened with Walmart and decided to steer clear...

It’s entirely plausible, and their track record suggests they simply run a countdown for these poor souls who find themselves standing before the cameras, forced to make split-second decisions regarding the fate of their entire business empires... or perhaps they just throw a tantrum and snatch their offer back because someone else is looking to cut into their slice of the pie. 😁Who knows? Maybe they reached out to Herjavec, but he wasn't interested. It isn't as if he's constantly throwing deals on the table, and even when he does, he usually gets shot down anyway. 🤣It really is a shame they aren't bringing in Kutcher more frequently instead of that Uberuberuber guy.
I honestly cannot wrap my head around the sheer level of nonsense being broadcast there; I suppose because the market is so massive, people are willing to swallow just about any kind of garbage.

Look, it can't be easy being the smart one in the room; you have to take people at their word when they talk about their businesses, or so I've read. I think they walked away from some deals simply because things weren't looking like they were presented...
Herjavec is probably the least wealthy among them, which might be why they brush him off, especially since Cuban is still the most attractive option on average...
Still, as an investment platform, it's pretty impressive. I believe they've surpassed $100 million in investments and created about 10,000 jobs...
Totally, it makes your head spin seeing the kinds of products they handle over there. The market is huge, and even with the struggling folks, there's plenty of middle class and wealthy people. Here in America, it feels like everything revolves around tourism, bakeries, used car lots, debt collection, and cheap goods of every kind...🤣
