Jack Miller6 said:Would those 13 years count toward his sentence?

Yeah, based on these numbers, he’d still have 7 years left to serve.

ruggedjackal46 said:Technically, yeah, but I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if they’d actually found him innocent. How on earth do you hand someone a -13 year sentence? 😁

As for the situation with the defendant, the whole thing is just absurd. Someone actually managed to smuggle poison into the detention center, and then this guy manages to sneak it right into the courtroom? It’s the perfect, chaotic finale for what has basically been nothing more than a legal circus.

Well, if my memory serves me right, isn't that exactly what happened in that high-profile case involving a certain prominent figure who was sentenced to 10 years but had already spent 13 behind bars? That would leave him at a net negative of three.

The kind of way where someone walks away with a massive pile of cash.

There'd probably be some massive lawsuit and damages to deal with...

Anyway, RIP. I suppose the only silver lining is that this whole farce at the Hague is finally becoming a thing of the past.

Except he’ll probably be out way sooner since he’s hitting that two-thirds parole mark soon enough.

His attorney is claiming he should be out by 2019 or 2020.

Yeah, that guy from the Hague walked away with absolutely zero, currency doesn't even matter at this point.

You forgot who actually handed him over; everyone’s just buying into that narrative, especially after those protests down by the waterfront...

I honestly feel sick thinking about him taking his own life. He could have just served a few more years and walked free... But what really gets me riled up is seeing those people in the Middle East celebrating everything over on Instagram and Facebook, acting like they’re being rebellious by drinking alcohol—as if that somehow makes them "true" believers—while posting all these smug, hypocritical comments about "drinking poison"...

But I guess that's just how it goes when you're a man of principle with actual backbone. He refused to spend even one single day behind bars as a convicted criminal when he knew he was innocent...

Rest in peace, General.

Honestly, I don't get why anyone is acting shocked by how Muslims reacted. 🤔

Honestly, he couldn't have played it smarter. He showed what being a true American is actually about by stepping into the ring without all that extra junk—no flags, no tacky patterns, none of that useless decor that honestly just makes me cringe a little bit if you catch my drift.
The way he did it was just classy and smart. It proves that patriotism is something you carry in your heart, and that the US is his home too, even if he’s got roots elsewhere. It's about soul, not stuff.
Turns out the guy isn't just a genius inside the ring; he's got brains outside of it too. Major respect to him.

Because this approach hits way harder, and frankly, let people complain if they want to.☕

This is the blueprint for every other athlete and anyone working in sports. This is how you do it.

Since he represents Cleveland and Ohio, people would just be confused otherwise.

And if he mentioned Americans in every single interview just to bait our media for clicks, that’s just the truth.

He wouldn't have even been allowed into the Octagon with any sort of personal flair; his options are essentially limited to picking the color of his underwear since the UFC enforces such strictly standardized gear.

That said, he seems to be a man who truly understands his position. He hasn't let the fame go to his head, which is quite an achievement when it is so incredibly easy to become an arrogant piece of trash in an environment like this.

Why would he feel the need to broadcast his heritage at all, whether it's third or fourth generation, when it isn't as if anyone is accusing you of glorifying Mexico in every other post you make.

Who ends up leaving a bigger legacy in the long run. LeBron or Steph Curry?
