Matthew Young35 said:For heaven's sake, there are already international treaties... Take the Geneva Convention, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and so on. Now we are just adding one more convention to the pile.

It's no big deal.
Unless, of course, you find it shameful that America might follow some silly convention that prevents men from beating women.

From what I can gather, none of them are actually enforced to the letter anyway. I'm just observing here—obviously, they should be signed and upheld. We unfortunately had the chance to implement the Geneva Convention recently, and let's just say there were moments where we didn't exactly make ourselves look like heroes.
But here's the thing: as far as I know, none of those others exist specifically to create a privileged caste of one group while turning everyone else into potential criminals.
As far as I can tell, neither of these two is just globalist garbage wrapped up in fancy packaging. The first two are products of basic humanity and common sense, whereas this third one is purely a byproduct of third-wave feminism.

Regarding that last point, hey, I might even be a closeted homosexual myself. Come on, you can do better than that. Or maybe you can't. 😁
As for me, go ahead and implement it, but why shouldn't we point out that this is just leftist nonsense? At this rate, tomorrow canned goods will have their own set of rights, and you'll just switch sides and claim they're being "oppressed." Honestly, if I knew both sides, I'd charge you a fortune. It's all cherry-picking, exclusivity, and tribalism.

The best part is when one side or the other finally remembers how to reshape society to suit their specific tastes, and then they ingeniously conclude that we need to introduce some version of "education" in schools—naturally, designed exactly how they want it, to mold children into their own little image.

I'd love to see someone actually try to tax the church here in the States. You'd quickly see how much the government would absolutely lose its mind🤣, it would be a total disaster.

Passing this convention feels just like trying to fix systemic corruption by passing yet another anti-corruption law 😬

The real cancer in our society is the justice system, and honestly, no amount of international conventions is going to fix that. As if this is suddenly going to make a court case wrap up in 30 days instead of dragging on for three years, or stop criminals—regardless of gender—from roaming the streets like they didn't even commit a crime. America is basically a textbook example of a place where crime, if it doesn't pay off, usually ends up having zero real consequences at worst 😳

Seriously, dropping a few pounds of dynamite right in the middle of Times Square would probably be a step forward ☕

The Constitutional Court might actually step in on this one if it ends up promoting gender inequality.

Taxation isn't the answer; that's just more of that same old statist garbage.

Instead, we should pass laws banning the funding of all religious communities, civic associations, NGOs, and the like. Let them fund themselves through membership dues and leave it at that. As an active Catholic, I personally have zero issues with that approach.

And believe me, there would be massive pushback, even from the left. When it comes to spending other people's money, everyone acts exactly the same!

It seems like at every single turn, one group sees nothing but old-school communists, while the other side screams "fascists!" Honestly, what would they even do without each other? It’s almost as if they can't function unless they're busy stirring up panic or fighting these pseudo-ideological wars. Isn't it just a cycle?

Good heavens, it would be a massive hit...
Especially if you also cut off the funding for volunteer fire departments, since they're technically civic associations too.

I happen to have some inside knowledge on how this works 😉

You’ve got genuine volunteers who are actually putting in the work, and then you have the bureaucrats pocketing nice little paychecks funded by the taxpayers who are just trying to get by. 😉

So, on average, they're doing alright.

Take anyone paying taxes in a city like Chicago, for instance—averaging around $7,100.

Look, you probably think I'm some kind of hardcore leftist, but I am 100% signing off on this. We need to cut all this crap loose from the state, scrap those Vatican agreements, and move on. All these civic groups and NGOs? It's basically just a bunch of cronies living off the taxpayers' dime.

The members of the Association of the Blind are probably sitting on their floors right now, weeping while they read your post.

Let’s move past the cheap moralizing for a moment. Please, help me understand: why on earth should taxpayer money be used to fund some private citizens' association? Why is there such a widespread assumption that it’s perfectly fine to take from everyone just to hand it out to a select few?

Think about social solidarity, for instance.
Or consider cases where the government simply shouldn't be the one handling things—like managing animal shelters and stray populations.
Then there are matters that practically cannot be tackled without external financial or logistical support, such as aiding the sick or fighting forest fires.
Or perhaps it's because certain groups simply lack the capital required to preserve essential cultural values.

One could certainly go on for quite some time.

I had no idea the definition of "solidarity" included forcibly snatching someone else's hard-earned cash! ☕

True solidarity happens when people voluntarily support those causes, which really comes down to culture and how we're raised. Instead, what we have is an all-powerful state that insists on doing it for us—and predictably, it ends up being expensive, corrupt, and inefficient (to be honest, that's basically everything the government touches). Because of this, we as individuals just wash our hands of everything; there's zero personal responsibility left.

Do you realize just how brainwashed we've become? It's become impossible to even imagine doing anything without the interference of an omnipotent state. And then, of course, we sit around complaining about corruption and chronic national debt! 🙄🙄
