Actually, I just remembered

before they divert water back into the Mississippi, they cool it down—so if things start heating up, they just run it through extra cooling systems.

Matthew Young35 said:It is honestly mind-boggling to me that there are still people out there denying the sheer impact humanity has on our environment.
It’s just... unbelievable.
I actually find it easier to wrap my head around the fools who claim the Earth is only 6,000 years old than to deal with those who insist mankind has zero influence on the climate or the ecosystem.

honestly, I don't think anyone really gives a shit. we can barely even worry about our own health half the time.🤷

Look, I'm all for slashing pollution rates ASAP because it's obvious we're wrecking the planet, but don't expect me to go out and scrub a beach or quit buying plastic 🤷

https://www.theguardian.com/science/...ming-passes-99

"The scientific consensus that humans are causing global warming is likely to have passed 99%, according to the lead author of the most authoritative study on the subject, and could rise further after separate research that clears up some of the remaining doubts."

So, what now? Are you actually going to change your mind? Honestly, I heard from some pretty reliable sources that Elon Musk is just funneling his investors' money into funding trips to Greensboro to stir up climate panic, all to pump up his stock prices and sell more EVs while he laughs at everyone from his control center in Sunday... He's even gone vegan just to make his whole persona easier to sell to the naive crowds...

Seriously, we should just pivot this whole thread to talk about Elon Musk, the ultimate manipulator out of Greensboro.

I mean, once you realize that Elon Musk (god help us, the EV guy) is a total fraud or a liar, and yet all these "expert" scientists and mainstream media outlets aren't saying a word about it, then you can start seeing the bigger picture of global deception.

Honestly, there's no point even debating them separately because it's all interconnected; once one part of the house of cards falls, the rest follows—it's just details at that point...

But to actually see that, you've gotta approach things with a level head instead of letting your emotions run the show.

It’s a textbook example of a natural warming cycle.

That was a very wise observation on your part.

God or science? It’s the age-old debate that keeps us up at night. Is there a divine hand guiding the universe, or are we just a beautiful accident of biology and physics? It’s easy to get lost in the weeds of this discussion. On one side, you have those who see the intricate complexity of life—the way a single cell functions or how the stars align—as undeniable proof of a Creator. To them, the universe feels too intentional, too "tuned," to be mere coincidence. Then there’s the scientific perspective. We have mapped the genome, we understand evolution, and we can track the movement of galaxies. For many, these discoveries don't just explain *how* things work; they render the idea of a supernatural architect unnecessary. Why invoke a miracle when we can cite a mechanism? But even within modern science, the tension remains. Some physicists look at the fundamental constants of our universe and wonder why everything is so perfectly calibrated for life to exist. Is it just a statistical inevitability in a multiverse, or is there something deeper at play? Ultimately, I don't think it has to be a zero-sum game. You can find awe in a laboratory and reverence in a cathedral. Whether you find meaning in a grand design or the sheer, chaotic brilliance of natural selection, the search for answers is what makes us human.

Another dilemma currently tearing the American public apart: "God" or just a casual "hey"? People are fighting over how to properly greet someone. It’s a debate that seems to have no end.

I don't have any hard evidence, but I’m convinced of one thing: those who deny global warming are the ones constantly invoking God, while the folks on the other side would much rather use... well, you know.
Hey there. 🤔.

I don't actually have anything against energy or technology itself, but when you see just how unprofessional and reckless the average person can be, you realize they can screw things up so badly that the risk simply isn't worth taking.

And man, I don't even know how to respond to that.

That one sentence probably covers a lot of ground, even if it's brief.

Man, people really drive climate change, don't they? Every single time the conversation shifts to record-breaking temperatures, massive snowfalls, or extreme heatwaves and cold snaps, everyone starts pointing back to the 1800s. Back then, there were seven times fewer people on the planet and who knows how much less industrial activity compared to now. If we're looking at those numbers, who was actually influencing the climate back then?

So I was watching this BuzzFeed Unsolved episode where they're digging into some mine collapse, and they basically claim it happened because people were mining too close to the support pillars. That’s just how humans work, I guess. We didn't save the bees; we just pollinate them ourselves now. Climate change? We'll just slap some tech on it like we always do and stay exactly the same kind of idiots we've always been.

honestly, I'm happy for Greta since she gets to skip school. we're all pretty much broken inside anyway, so she's probably loving it—she isn't thinking about the climate when she checks into the hotel, she’s thinking about likes, crushes, and how much she hates getting out of bed. just like the rest of us. being human is basically just one big struggle; if nobody had to show up to work tomorrow, nobody would. it's like a crow biting a cat's tail—it's pointless, so the cat just catches it and eats it. same goes for us, except we feel it a million times worse.

Gonna try working on my carbon footprint for an hour a day. Or whatever. Just some Netflix tonight, messing around, scouting for my fantasy league, then waking up early tomorrow even though it’s Sunday just to give the planet another hour of effort. That's basically how my brain works.

just turn off all the lights in the house for an hour—if you can manage to do that during the day too, it actually makes a huge difference for the country.

When I'm walking, I'm barely paying attention. When I'm talking, I'm paying even less. And when I'm actually thinking? I'm not doing it at all.
