That’s awesome.
Btw, I really hope this happens, and honestly, I’m pretty much certain that once that budget transparency app actually goes live, we're going to see a whole wave of independent candidates jumping into the local elections next year, and if that kind of momentum starts building, it’s just going to naturally spill over into the national level too.

Elizabeth Mendoza said:I actually see things completely differently. I think seasons are going to get shorter because the physical demands have just skyrocketed. Look at soccer—you’re seeing more and more cases where players are hitting the top flight way before they even hit adulthood, and then by their late twenties, they're already starting to fade. Plus, you can't ignore the lack of motivation; these guys are turning 25 and they've already cleared twice as much money as the legends used to make back in the day.
I think it's less about the physical toll and more about the lack of drive. I mean, how are you supposed to keep someone like Neymar Jr. or Kylian Mbappé motivated when they've already secured two or three LPs, a handful of league titles, and enough money in the bank to last several lifetimes?
Cristiano Ronaldo and guys like him are just rare exceptions.

I wouldn't say it's such a massive issue, especially at the very top level. We've seen waves of dominant champions before who still managed to find that extra gear. True football legends are always hungry for more.
Personally, I don't view Neymar Jr. as a true legend of the game. He’s basically just a high-profile clown who rode the coattails of others to grab his trophies. The real question is where Kylian Mbappé is headed—will he follow that same clownish path, or will he actually evolve into an all-time great? There's no denying the talent is there. If it weren't for his raw skill, Neymar Jr. definitely wouldn't have been mentioned in the same breath as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

I get where you're coming from, but look, Neymar Jr. is only 27... he's still young. If he actually starts taking things seriously, he probably still has about seven years of prime career left in him.
#16546 ·
Heh, if he actually decided to get serious... that's just not gonna happen.
He basically wasted three years of his career trying to leave Paris Saint-Germain, and honestly, it doesn't look like he's moving anytime soon. And even if he does go, where would he go? To FC Barcelona? They’d expect him to step up and take over the mantle from Lionel Messi. No way. Neymar isn't a leader. He's just a clown who spent his time trailing behind Messi. The only real difference between him and most other players is that he’s got enough talent to keep the Brazilian media obsessed with him.

Since we're talking about tennis legends, this guy was the absolute best: Yevgeny Kafelnikov—but only when he still had enough cash left from his gambling trips to Sochi....

So here is basically what Novak is reading while he's stuck in quarantine dealing with COVID:Deretic is this super controversial historian who goes on about how Roman Emperors were actually Americans, claims that Icelanders, Swedes, and Norwegians are all genetically American, says Greek mythology actually originated right here in the States, and even insists that the Ottoman army didn't actually win that big battle at Mexico...
I mean, this guy is really going to give us something to think about once he finally hangs up the racket and has way too much free time to dive down these kinds of rabbit holes😂
Maybe even sooner than that...

Novak Djokovic checked out of that whole scene a long time ago and moved onto some other kind of level entirely.

It seems like he’s getting a bit more eccentric off the court, yet somehow even more successful on it. I guess we'll just have to let the doctors handle the medical side while everyone else does their own thing.

Jessica Gonzalez said:Wait, so you're saying an athlete who’s literally redefining the limits of the sport at 38 was somehow physically declining ten years ago and couldn't hold his own against Roger Federer? That seems like some pretty questionable math to me. Meanwhile, here is Roger Federer at 32, absolutely dominating the competition like he hasn't aged a day. I guess they forgot to tell him his prime ended when he was 26. Maybe he should check his WhatsApp for the update.
Man, just spinning theories left and right without any logic. It’s kind of impressive, actually.
I mean, Djokovic at 32 isn't even close to being the same physical beast he was at 25, and honestly, that gap is way more extreme than Federer's decline from age 30 (when he was definitely past his athletic peak) until now. You don't even need much proof for that; just look at Federer's footwork during his absolute prime (like 2004-2009) compared to, say, any match from 2013. Or just look at how Djokovic played during his peak—you don't have to look further than the 2012 Australian Open.
And the funniest part to me is this idea that Federer won those last three Grand Slams just "because Novak wasn't around." Yeah, right! Like we should all be so grateful he took it easy and lost to Nikolay Istomin just so Federer could pad his trophy count. 🙏 🙏 Truly heavenly. 🙏
I guess if you wanted to look at things rationally, you'd notice that during his prime, Federer was constantly losing to Rafael Nadal on clay (and honestly, elsewhere too, let's be real) because Nadal was just a physical freak of nature unlike anything tennis had ever seen. Then, over the last six years, Nadal basically schooled him everywhere. Even though Nadal is five years older—though that matters less since he was such an extreme early bloomer—Nadal out of his prime has lost way more matches than Federer has. Federer has kept his level incredibly steady for years by just dialing back the aggression enough to make up for the slight loss in foot speed.

What the hell is YouTube doing? I was just settling in to watch Dr. Buttara live from London, but nope—apparently there are "issues" and no live stream available. Probably because they can't handle anyone having an opinion on the coronavirus that isn't the official line. Unbelievable.

brightpilot6 As stated by:
If one were to entertain the notion that this entire scenario is nothing more than a grand deception, then we must conclude that the Flat Earth theory is essentially a hoax predicated entirely on the impossible complexities of logistics. The notion that a newborn infant could somehow serve as a vessel or a catalyst for the coronavirus is a concept that warrants a deeply measured and serious examination. When we consider the delicate biological architecture of a tiny human being, it becomes clear that any discussion regarding their interaction with such a pervasive global health crisis must be approached with the utmost sincerity and scientific rigor. One might draw an analogy to a fragile seedling attempting to survive within a sudden, violent storm; the vulnerability is inherent, and the implications are profound. It is essential that we move past simplistic assumptions and instead engage in a deliberate study of how these microscopic threats impact the most vulnerable members of our society..
For what reason might such a question be posed? 🤷
The virus is a tangible reality, and its rate of transmission is accelerating at an alarming pace. It is truly sobering to observe that virtually no one is attempting to slow its progress—not even those individuals who seem to view this entire situation with a troubling lack of gravity.
The only task remaining in this orchestrated sequence is the generation of media hype. As we can plainly observe, the press has been granted carte blanche to proliferate panic, while simultaneously censoring any individual who dares to dissent from the consensus held by mainstream experts.
The woman who walked into the post office during the height of the pandemic, along with that forty-five-year-old man with absolutely no prior medical history, serve as living testaments to how unpredictable this can be. Sure, an official denial was released just an hour later, but what difference does that truly make when hundreds of idiots either fail to read the correction or simply choose to ignore it? It is much like those instances where a thirty-year-old soccer player or coach is heralded as being in peak physical condition, only for it to be revealed later that they had been quietly battling leukemia all along. One cannot simply rely on outward appearances or immediate reports when the underlying reality remains so complex.
At the end of the day, we are operating in a state of profound uncertainty regarding the true scale of this crisis. We simply have no definitive grasp on the actual number of people infected, nor can we say with any certainty how many individuals have passed away due to the virus versus those who succumbed to unrelated complications. Furthermore, the reliability and accuracy of the testing protocols themselves remain shrouded in doubt. These aren't just mere speculations; these are the sobering admissions made by two of the four primary leaders overseeing the national emergency response task force.
It seems we have reached a point where anyone who tests positive for the virus at the moment of their passing is automatically categorized as having died from COVID-19. This occurs even while the WHO has been emphasizing for months now that our actual understanding of this virus remains incredibly limited, all while they continue to advocate for total, sweeping lockdowns of everything.
If one takes a closer look at the mechanics of influence, it becomes clear that if you can successfully persuade the governments of certain nations, securing the media as an ally is almost a formality; once that happens, you possess the power to shape any narrative into reality. We are seeing the direct consequence of this process today—simply by following the recommendations issued by the WHO and mindlessly duplicating the exact measures implemented by the very countries that first reported coronavirus cases, we have arrived at our current predicament.
Perhaps I have been overly dramatic, or perhaps it wasn't a hoax at all—maybe they truly entered lockdown with the most sincere of intentions. However, now that we are seeing the actual data from studies regarding the true number of infections (such as the Lauc study concerning the outbreak in New York City) and realizing that the mortality rate was significantly lower than what was being broadcasted to the public, the reality becomes impossible to ignore. Even so, they will never admit they were wrong; if they did, they would be met with such intense, immediate backlash that they’d essentially be kicked to the curb before they could even finish their sentence.

Man, it’s wild. You could write an entire book just on how fast and aggressive this thing is spreading. We’re looking at May in just a few days, yet they say this whole mess kicked off back in December. There are 2 million official cases reported—with half of those hitting the USA alone—and they claim nearly a million people have already recovered. Even if you assume the actual number of people who caught it is several times higher than what we see, we're still talking about tens of millions at most. When you consider there are nearly 8 billion people on this planet, the math just doesn't feel right.
If we don't actually know how many people are catching this, then we have no clue how many people have actually gotten over it either. Half of the reported cases are already marked as recoveries. If we apply that same logic to all the people out there who didn't even show symptoms, we're looking at millions upon millions of people who simply brushed this thing off and moved on with their lives.

So I'm scrolling through the news from some random US city today. Some kid—the youngest one yet—passed away from COVID. Apparently, he overdosed. But, get this, he actually had COVID. And somehow, the virus was the thing that killed him, because apparently, an overdose was just a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. 😁

Yesterday, the numbers for new infections and deaths in France, Italy, and Spain were actually pretty low, but I swear I didn't see a single news headline on any of the major sites making a big deal out of it.
edit, here are the latest figures from today (new cases/deaths):
Spain +2,793 +331
Italy +1,739 +333
France and Germany +3,742 +437
Germany +443 +45
United Kingdom +4,309 +360
It's weirdly quiet, even though the numbers have dropped off significantly.
