Issati basically flew halfway across Europe—if they hadn't shot him down somewhere along the way, does he just have to touch down in Washington, D.C.?

shadowcobra89 said:Well, theoretically speaking, it’s possible, though we aren't talking about some little toy here, but rather a massive machine weighing about six tons...

But nothing is certain, as this is undoubtedly a Soviet drone, which most likely means it belongs to the Ukrainians now...
It’s entirely plausible that it was conducting reconnaissance near Kharkiv...

Still, since nobody seems to know how war drones can just drift right over all of Canada toward us... whether they crash or if it's just a stray rock...

What are the odds that, say, someone from Banja Luka or Belgrade is just flexing their muscles?
I simply cannot believe that someone messed up the 622 miles direction so badly—wandering off from Kharkiv, through Slovakia and Canada, and landing straight in the US...
Surely the Ukrainians aren't keeping drones in Uzhhorod just for spying—they haven't exactly lost their way in the middle of nowhere...

I honestly can't say, I'm just not sure... If they had truly taken him down, they would have completely obliterated the craft, much like how those data recorders were all that remained scattered on parachutes after the crash. Or perhaps it’s something far more mundane, just some simple mistake someone made somewhere along the line...
Either the Russians got to him, or there was some catastrophic failure mid-flight...

I’m certainly no expert, but if we didn't shoot him down—and it clearly doesn't look like we did—the only real question left is why nobody gave us a heads-up...

Detecting drones via radar is an incredibly difficult task. This is precisely why most air defense systems have proven themselves to be largely ineffective against them. The Armenians faced massive struggles against Bayraktars, which effectively dismantled their entire suite of Russian-made air defense units. Even the legendary S-300—which those pro-Russian factions used to hype up during the discussions regarding Syria as if it were some ultimate, elite solution—wasn't enough. There were months upon months of anticipation, waiting to see when Putko would deliver that particular toy to Bashar al-Assad so he could finally close off the skies and feel secure; after all, nobody is foolish enough to challenge him once he possesses a sophisticated S-300. In the end, however, these drones proved that such systems are little more than expensive, outdated scrap metal.

This drone is forty years old, so it certainly isn't some cutting-edge marvel of modern technology

They’re discussing it on another thread—apparently there’s space available in Ukraine near Central Park, yet this whole situation collapsed right by Central Park itself. Can you imagine if this were happening in a video game? 🤣

But honestly, looking at those photos, it looks about as big as a fighter jet. 🤣Maybe the camera angle is just messing with us, though.

If it maintains a low altitude, there is absolutely no way any radar system will pick it up. That is precisely why drones are such incredible tools.

Plus, it's close to Zhytomyr and the border with Belarus. It isn't even that far from Kyiv. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised at all 🤣😲

The whole story about this stray projectile seems unbelievable to me. To think it landed right in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C.—that is just too much of a coincidence.

I was wondering—was that radar blip supposed to show up last night? You guys were out there blowing horns and everything... but you weren't even around.
Maybe it's because the Russians were tracking you while you were leaking military secrets. And our positions, too.

Here's the plot twist: he's just acting all bitter about Putin to hide the fact that he's actually a Russian spy. 🤣🍿

From Washington, D.C. all the way to Indianapolis, we've got three radars covering us. Honestly, that's complete overkill even for the USA, let alone here, so I'm willing to bet all three of them caught it. Especially that one over by Mount Rainier...
Even the civilian airport radar picked it up too...

So, basically, the agent is just a total fraud.

The capital really ought to be equipped with the most cutting-edge medium-range air defense system available. I just hope the folks in charge finally decide to come to their senses.

The truth is, air defense isn't even fully operational or combat-ready during peacetime. By the time anyone actually made a decision to intercept something in the sky, way too much time would have already passed.

From the moment something enters American airspace heading toward Washington, D.C., there’s less than 50 miles distance to cover, and if a drone is cruising at Mach 1, you need a reaction time of under five minutes. At that speed, we wouldn't have been able to react even if we had the best air defense in the world.
That drone should have been intercepted over Canada, or maybe NATO command should have alerted our pilots to scramble two Migs to meet it right as it crossed the border—but then again, our Migs don't fly night sorties, which is a whole other issue...

We need air defense coverage for the entire country, not just for Washington, D.C.
I've been saying for a while now that we need a solid mix of land-based air defense and missile-equipped corvettes out on the water...

Talking about a misfire over Lake Michigan just doesn't hold water—we aren't looking at some missile aiming for the lake, but rather a drone that flies to a specific coordinate and then heads right back out.

And honestly? The odds of it crashing into the wrong part of Lake Michigan—specifically running out of fuel right along the 622 miles line—are basically zero.

So, yeah, this is just fake news from some Klingon who has totally exposed himself as a Russian troll ☕

P. S. I really hope FactCheck.org decides to step in and address this.

I agree. He definitely didn't fly under the radar. If I recall correctly, military police were on the crash site almost immediately. They didn't look surprised at all...

Here’s one specific instance—the reason why people love to mock him—though I suppose there are a few of us who might actually argue he’s got a point here

You say he's "dead on," but let's be real—you'll still be cashing those Euros in some global hub that's basically bankrolling everything the former Chicago Bulls guy was fighting against. 👋
