Maybe it’s showing up like this for you?

Once you've got those frequencies dialed in, just hit the test button and then click OK...🙂

No biggie at all, I just messed up a little bit myself...🙂

Yeah... you've got a point there!
Sorry... my bed...
And that green "arrow"—it's still way beyond anything I'd call maximum...
Sorry, my bad...

No worries at all, just go ahead and set it to 630/900—that should get everything running smoothly for you... 🙂

I recall seeing some numbers floating around—something in the 700 to 1000 range! 🙂
I'm not trying to dwell on it—honestly, I can't even remember for sure anymore... I'll post some photos once I get home. 😉
It feels like this thread has gone completely silent ever since I downloaded everything! 😁

Why don't you two just head over to the PC Enthusiast forums and wipe the floor with everyone else? You'd probably outscore the whole damn crowd anyway....

Why don't you all just head over to that forum and post your results there?

So far, nobody here has actually shared their "masterpiece" on that site; until I see some actual validation, I’m NOT buying it (no offense intended).

I have no desire to boast, really. Besides, I prefer to keep my little victories to myself; I'm certainly not giving them away to anyone else 😛

Bryan Wood49's photos: case modding and overclocking

If you're sitting around waiting for photos... forget about it. Here's the deal on that.

OC:
Look, wiredmarlin5, quit screwing with me. I told you, once I get home, I'll post the pictures.

CM:
Big Smoke? Not happening! No way!

Big Smoke? Not happening! No way!
CM:If you want them via PM... I'm not posting them here because there's nothing special about it.

CM:
Which one?
Mine?
And what exactly are you looking for? I don't mess around with case modding! Honestly, I don't waste my time on it because I have absolutely zero talent for it...

If you want them via PM... I'm not posting them here because there's nothing special about it.

CM:
No, I'm seriously not lying to you guys... sorry everyone, but photographing the interior of this case is a massive pain because the chassis is built directly into my desk. It is incredibly difficult to slide it back in once I pull it out... and don't even get me started on trying to reroute all those cables!
I promise you, when I can find a spare moment, I'll pull it out and take photos from every possible angle... and maybe even a shot of myself next to it... just so you believe me.

Regarding the CM part you mentioned: August 20, 2007
So, there's my take on this thread. Since this is your topic, I'm going to give it a wide berth... that's all. Peace.

And hey, look at the post count over there now... (you can check for yourselves)

CONCLUSION: Don't believe him.

Wait, I’m a little lost here... are you seriously suggesting that Mike is pulling some kind of fast one on us or what???

wiredmarlin5, can I pick your brain for a second? You seem to be the go-to expert on OC here.
How far could I push my E6600(2400MHz) if I upgraded the cooling? Any specific BIOS settings you'd suggest? I tried bumping it up with my Freezer, but it hits 65° once I cross 3500 MHz.

3.5 - 4.0GHz. This motherboard is absolutely killer by the way! 🙂

Honestly, that Freezer is going to be your weakest link here... the processor sits right in the middle of the equation, though it really all comes down to which specific revision you've got, but man, that board is legendary... easily one of the best for overclocking 🙂

I’d suggest checking what your max FSB is before you worry about anything else... you can actually find that max FSB by dropping your multiplier down to the lowest possible setting—I think it's 6x—and then just pushing the clock...

Once you finally hit that max FSB—let's say it's 500 MHz... if you do the math, you get a theoretical maximum of 4500MHz... but keep in mind, you're only ever going to pull that kind of top-end speed if you have some seriously heavy-duty cooling involved

Do you even know which voltages you should be tweaking yet? Just make sure your temps don't climb past 61 degrees... you'll want to keep a close eye on everything using the Core temp readings 🙂

Revision B2. Max stable FSB is 537. Multipliers run from 6x to 9x.

By the way, those links aren't working. Can you just list the names of the coolers instead?

First off—this is a forum.hr..
Honestly, where on earth did they teach you that?
As for that... well, you can say whatever you want—lol—but here’s my two cents. That's all I've got to say.🙄

Mentioning that forum just proved how amateurish and childish you actually are; it really shows the way your mind works.

What I said isn't just empty talk. If anyone wants to challenge that, they can go ahead and run through the list themselves... they'll find exactly what I mean.

Look, let’s skip the bickering for a second because I actually have a question for the rest of you. I'm currently running an Intel Pentium 4 where the math works out to 15 * 133 = 1995 MHz. As far as I can tell—though I'm not 100% certain—my memory is also clocked at 133 MHz. Here’s what I’m aiming for: I want to bump that memory up to 200 MHz (I've got DDR400 on hand), which should theoretically push that 133 base clock up to 200 as well. I can adjust the frequency in the BIOS, but the multiplier is locked. So, I'm wondering if there's any way to manually change the multiplier to 10 using a jumper on the motherboard? That way, the total frequency stays right around the same: 10 * 2000 = 2000 MHz. And please, don't just sit there laughing at me.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 - hands down the best cooler out there right now 🙂

The links actually work fine for me, so maybe try installing Mozilla... that usually fixes these little hiccups...🙂

With a high-end processor... if you pair it with a better cooler, you really ought to be able to crack past the 4GHz mark...👍

If I recall correctly, you need a processor with an unlocked multiplier.
With the Barton stuff, I think only the mobile versions were unlocked, whereas with the standard ones, you have to mess around with the actual CPU hardware.
I think I'm right, but I honestly can't be certain.😁 😁

High-end processor... with a better cooler, it should hit over 4GHz.👍

You think I'm such a #$%#&$! that I'd actually use IE??????? 😁
The links are fine now. Must have been some issues with their site last night.

I wasn't really planning on dropping $167 on a cooler... 😲
But looking at the prices and performance of everything else, it'd be a waste not to grab it and push this rig to its limit...

BTW, what's the deal with revisions? How much difference can two revisions of the same chip actually make? I saw a few Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 units clocked past 4.0GHz, and they were all Rev. B2.

Hmm, revisions... honestly, I don't know the exact manufacturing details or all the technical nuances right now, but I suppose it really boils down to the silicon quality and a few other little specifics...

Alternatively, you could just grab a Cooler Master Hyper 212 and mod the fan with something better that offers higher airflow, sort of strip it down to the base and call it a day...

Po me, I’d say the Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 is actually a superior high-end processor compared to that Go revision Intel Core 2 Duo E6750... sure, the 6750 might boast a higher maximum FSB, but since the multiplier favors the 6600, it pretty much cancels out any advantage in overclocking potential...

Anyway, if you end up selling that processor, let me know! 😁

You trashed it so much I won't be able to sell it now 😁

I'll just order the Cooler Master Hyper 212 then, and see how it performs.
