Yes, I'm actually thinking about putting an optimistic bid in on this one 😉

I suggested at least 25%, though who knows? Maybe someone will actually be interested enough to buy it at that price

So, I suppose it’s more efficient to pick things out component by component rather than just grabbing a pre-built bundle... thanks for the insight.

So, here’s the situation: I just offloaded my old graphics card, and now I'm looking to pick up a motherboard with an LGA 775 socket. I’m not looking to break the bank—maybe around $133... nothing crazy. Anyway, I came across this ASUS Motherboard, but I was wondering if someone could break down the specs for me or perhaps suggest something a bit better if it’s within reach. Thanks.

I know you guys are all going to roast me for this, but seriously—how on earth do you actually overclock?
I’ve got a solid power supply and I’m dying to turn this processor into a total "clocknut"—I really don't care if the whole thing goes up in smoke, since I'm just working with an old piece of junk
from my basement

So, which processor are we talking about here?

Usually, I just head straight into the BIOS and bump up the FSB and voltage settings a bit.

That’s exactly what I’m trying to figure out as well.

So, I’ve still got an old Intel Pentium 4 1,67 GHz lying around

Exactly which multiplier are we talking about here?

Is there any way to check that via dxdiag?

I have an unresolved issue here😕
Why is it that when I attempt to overclock my AMD Athlon 2100+ @ 1.76 GHz up to 1.90 GHz, the system suddenly identifies it as an Athlon XP 2400+, and even though I managed to push it further to 2.20 GHz, upon the subsequent reboot🙏 🤷 😲
everything just went completely sideways

So, that basically means you've hit the ceiling for this processor and there isn't any more headroom left to squeeze out performance.
Have you tried bumping up the voltage?

The voltage is currently sitting at 7.5, though it’s capable of hitting up to 10

Just run CPU-Z to check everything and let me know what you find. That way we'll actually know what we're dealing with.

I’m looking to overclock an AMD X2 4000 +. I want to push it to a maximum of 2.4 or 2.5 GHz, nothing higher. It’s a retail box version. Running Kingmax 800 MHz 2X 1GB RAM.
How do I get my memory to actually run at 800 MHz? Right now, it’s stuck at 702 MHz on the default settings.

If you head straight into your BIOS settings, you'll find everything you're looking for right there.

I am running a BenQ 20 inch monitor
nvidia 8800 gts and nvidia 8800 ultra(sli)
500 gb hard drive
Intel Core Processor 2 Extreme QX6800 2.93 Ghz
Motherboard: Abit Fatal1ty ... etc
Logitech G11

I pushed the clock speeds all the way to the limit. I will list the specific frequencies in a second post...
Regards👍 😛

Zachary Bishop8 said:Hey everyone, so I've currently got a BenQ 20 inch monitor set up
running an Nvidia 8800 GTS paired with an Nvidia 8800 Ultra in SLI
plus a 500 GB hard drive
driven by an Intel Core Processor Intel ® Core 2 Extreme QX6800 at 2.93 GHz
on an Abit Fatal1ty motherboard or something similar
with a Logitech G11 keyboard

And let me tell you, I've pushed those clock speeds way past the limit—I'll actually have to write out the specific overclocking settings in my next post...
Cheers!👍 😛

Yeah, well, and I'm just sitting here being Gilbert Arenas, pulling in $12.7 million a season myself...😁

I was actually wondering where that motherboard ended up
I’m planning to pick them up soon, drop them right into the case, and then you'll be able to see the results for yourself
I'll make sure everything is set up right up to the motherboard
