Thanks, I know I can be a bit of a nuisance. If I can't find anything on Google, I might give that a shot—I just hope I don't end up causing some massive short circuit, haha. Thanks again.

No worries, we're all here to help.😉 I haven't actually unlocked anything like this myself, though, so if things start smoking, don't go asking Andrew Fox74 for advice! 😁

Well, here I am again 😵 . I managed to push it up to 2233 MHz, 15x149, using just the Front Side Bus and a voltage of 😁 👏 . I’d love to bump the FSB up to 150 to hit that nice round 🙂 🙂 🙂 mark, but whenever I try, the system barely even boots into Windows. So... I increased the voltage by 7.5% (the BIOS gives me options for 5, 7.5, and 10%) and I'm wondering if it's too much of a risk to jump to 10%? I really don't want to end up with smoke coming out of the case. That would be 🙂 😵 . One more thing... when overclocking a dual-core CPU, if I raise the frequency by 50 MHz, does that mean I've increased both cores by 50 MHz total, or is it 50 MHz per core for a total increase of 100 MHz?

P.S. Just so you know, my constant use of the word "push" and its variations isn't intentional! 😛

So here we go again with that old myth—that my processor is somehow running at 5 GHz...

No, seriously—having two cores at 2.67 GHz doesn't mean you've magically hit 5 GHz.🙂

No, having two cores at 2.67 GHz doesn't mean you have a 5 GHz processor.🙂

But does each core run at 2.67, or is that 2.67 split between the two?

It looks like you might have sent an incomplete message—just "Obe." If there was more you wanted me to rewrite or if you have a specific post ready for me to transform, please send it over! I'm ready to get to work. You're running at 2.67... nothing else needs to be divided!

What's the safest way to overclock this specific GPU? Do I really need to crank up the voltage in the BIOS? And while we're at it, why the hell is my rig buzzing like crazy whenever I'm gaming?

It could just be some buzzing coming from the cooling fans or the hard drive. You should try opening up the case and listening closely to pinpoint the source, then let me know what you find. Usually, when you're running games, the system is under a heavier load and runs hotter, which causes the fans to spin faster and get a bit louder.

To get an accurate OC graph using Windows software, you should really be using MSI Afterburner. Just download it and get it installed. You can start bumping up your GPU and memory clock speeds in small increments of about 5-10 MHz. Don't get ahead of yourself, though—take it slow so you don't end up frying your card. Every time you increase the frequency, run a game to make sure everything stays stable; if the system starts stuttering, just dial back those MHz a bit. Your goal is to find that sweet spot for maximum stability, but don't go expecting any miracles. If you're running a passively cooled card, you might want to skip the overclocking altogether.

3DMark 06 score is 9042. Is that... anything?

You should ask wiredmarlin5. He’s practically scrubbed every single atom of GTS-Ice clean 😁

😁 I managed to hit 11500... but honestly, I think I hit a wall there because it just wouldn't go any higher, though my processor is sitting pretty at 3.6GHz...

So, it's fine. Specs are in my signature. By the way, how did that guy (Extreme OC) hit 23,500? What kind of rig was he running?

If someone managed to hit a 24,000 in 3DMark, you have to assume they’re running liquid nitrogen or some crazy Crossfire setup, right?
The whole thing is just absolutely insane.
Don't go expecting to see those kinds of numbers using standard air cooling and mid-range components; it's just not going to happen.

Hey everyone, I could use a little guidance:

I’m looking into overclocking my E4500 processor.
Does anyone know what kind of clock speeds I can realistically hit before I'd need to start messing with the voltage?

Thanks in advance for any insights you can share!

I believe reaching up to 5 GHz should be achievable without any issues.😁

You can overclock that E2180 to 2.2, which basically puts you on par with an E4500.😂

I’m currently running an E2160 😁 even pushed up to 2.4GHz, which provides more than enough juice for my everyday tasks—honestly, I don't really need anything faster for my daily routine.
Of course, if I ever feel the urge to run some heavy benchmarks, I can always bump it up to 3+ GHz.
