David Green75 said:The whole point of your post seems to be just grab the processor and toss it in the trash, I suppose.

Not necessarily, if one handles it with the proper care, I guess. 😉

Sure, but your approach basically means "keep pushing the CPU until it eventually melts."

And when we're talking about processor temps, I guess you guys mean the core temperature or the overall CPU package temp? I'm seeing about a 10-degree gap between them... (34-44)

core😉

If there’s really that much of a discrepancy, then you can pretty much bet that the software is reading things incorrectly... honestly, the difference between those two readings should really only be about 2 or 3 degrees tops...

And if it’s drifting more than 3 degrees, then something is definitely broken.🙂

It’s honestly not even worth all the hype, if you ask me. I personally pushed my own GPU up by 60MHz

Which one? And what’s the temp hitting under full load? 60mhz is a decent clock for the GPU

I've got a WinFast A6800XT. Running Underground 2 at max settings, I'm seeing about 57 degrees after playing for maybe half an hour.

I suppose anything is better than nothing at all.😉

I was also saying about that 40

The 6800XT is just a downclocked version. You’ve listed it as a 6800GT, but the only thing actually hitting 1000MHz is the memory. Otherwise 👍 👍

I'm not entirely sure I can push that memory clock up by another 200

Not gonna happen. You're forgetting the 6800GT uses a different memory architecture..

Kyle Sanchez4 said:That’s just not going to work. The 6800GT uses a completely different type of memory...

I wonder how much more overclocking is even possible at this point.

I downloaded that ATI utility and tried overclocking my GPU at the default settings. Right now, I’m seeing 459/400 on my 8400 GS. I’ve been sitting here staring at that little countdown box for an hour and a half already. How much longer am I supposed to wait? Also, when I try to manually set it—say, to 615/400—it works briefly, but as soon as I reboot the PC, everything just reverts back to the defaults.😕😕Is there anyone out there who actually uses this software? Could someone walk me through the entire process from start to finish so I can get it running properly? And does anyone happen to know what the actual limits are for this specific card?🤷🤷

I’m pretty sure I already gave you some advice regarding those 8400gs...
