hollowseal33 said:50,000? Please. That figure is nothing more than a desperate attempt to sum up the attendance from all three days combined, and even then, they likely padded the numbers just a bit extra.

I suspect they simply took the crowds from individual shows and added them together to make the whole thing look massive.🙂

I’ve got no clue what the official headcount was for last year's festival, but from where I was standing, this year felt like half the crowd. 50k my ass 🤣🤣

Honestly, I didn't get the feeling that there were fewer people this year compared to last. If anything, it felt busier.

If you ask me, I'd say we're looking at a maximum of 20-30k...

I felt the same way, though perhaps people weren't sprawling out across the grass quite as much due to the miserable weather, which might skew the perception 🤷
and besides, it isn't as if I can precisely distinguish between 12,000 and 15,000 people in a massive crowd 🤷
but then again, it seemed to me that all three stages maintained a decent level of attendance consistently throughout the event 🤷
and ultimately, screw the raw numbers; my only hope is that there was enough interest to ensure the organizers don't pull the plug, allowing us to see the TBA lineup and the Dubioza Collective return next year.

So, I figured I'd share this pretty great video from Dubioza.
I'm not sure if anyone else caught the bassist from Overflow hanging out near the entrance—it looked like he was just checking out some bracelets or something. It’s a bit of a bummer they didn't get them on stage to play a set, maybe right before Rise Against performed.

Or maybe they went with All Secrets Known and then followed up with Again?! 🙂

Here are my clips; everything is finally uploaded... 🙂 feel free to comment, like, and enjoy ☕

Day 1:
Alice in Chains - no Excuses - this is the only recording available. I attempted to use a small camera that offers decent visuals, but the audio is poor; the distortion is just too much...

Day 2:
Morcheeba - Even Though
Morcheeba - Part of The Process Morcheeba
Morcheeba - Blindfold Morcheeba
Morcheeba - be yourself - half of it
Audio Bullys - Snake - half finished; honestly, they didn't sound quite like this live.
Audio Bullys - only man Billy idol - Flesh for Fantasy
Billy Idol - Flesh for Fantasy - rather dull. I actually missed this because of this instead: Heart of Hearts Pendulum - The Island 😢
Pendulum - Watercolour
Pendulum - Part i ( Dawn ) Pendulum - Watercolour 3 dan : Broken social scena - World Sick Broken social scena - Fire Eye'd Boy Broken social scena - 7/4 ( Shoreline ) Broken social scena - Cause = time Broken social scena

Day 3:
Broken social scena - World Sick
Broken social scena - Fire Eye'd Boy
Broken social scena - 7/4 ( Shoreline ) Broken social scena

KC Accidental Broken social scena
meet me in The Basement Broken social scena - It's All gonna break Caribou - leave house Caribou - Bowls The Flaming Lips - do you Realize ??
Broken social scena - It's All gonna break Caribou - leave house Caribou - Bowls The Flaming Lips - do you Realize ??
Caribou - leave house
Caribou - Bowls
The Flaming Lips - do you Realize ??
New Young Pony Club - The get go - half finished
New Young Pony Club - Tight Fit Massive Attack - Angel Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
Massive Attack - Angel
Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy

I mostly recorded the acts that mean something to me, assuming they would be harder to find on YouTube. That is why I didn't record much Lipsa, particularly The Fire; I knew better footage from superior vantage points would eventually surface. However, I regret not capturing at least see The Leaves—there was just enough time left for it.

Rage Against the Machine - You Can't Stop It
Rage Against the Machine - Set It Off
Rage Against the Machine - Rat Race

I guess we really need to look forward to this one. Honestly, that vocalist is just such an absolute legend. I have a feeling a ton of people are going to start checking them out after they hit the stage, because even in my own group of friends, at least ten of us had never even heard of them before, and once the festival wrapped up, everyone pretty much agreed that their set was easily the best performance of the whole weekend.

Honestly, I’m pretty stoked with this year's Lollapalooza; I might even go as far as saying that, by some weird stroke of luck, it actually beat last year despite the lineup being kind of a letdown.

I have to shout out Dropkick Murphys—they absolutely blew my mind, and I can say without a doubt they were one of the best (if not *the* absolute best) sets I've ever seen live. Also, massive props to Audio Bully, who were a total sleeper hit of the whole fest. Pendulum and Dubrosa were killer too! Kawasaki is basically the brightest star in the American pop scene right now, so TBF, they were great. Watching the start of The Flaming Lips was such a visual trip, but we were craving high-energy music (and way less talking), so we bailed early. As for the Silent Disco, it just lacked that real musical soul, like that folk vibe from the first night back in the tent... Hm... If Kiril had played, it would've been way better...

Regarding the logistics, I try not to sweat the small stuff because if you spend the whole time looking for things to complain about, you won't have any fun, but I feel like the sponsor really dropped the ball on the promo gear (there was way more free stuff last year). Plus, the drink selection sucked—not everyone is into beer and vodka, but hey, I still managed to nearly pass out from drinking too much. The food in that massive main tent was straight-up garbage; that "kebab" was a crime against humanity, but luckily on the last night we stumbled upon that little vendor near the Budweiser Stage and the food there was surprisingly edible. All in all, even though I'm not usually an alternative girl, the Heineken Stage was my favorite spot, and yeah, I'll definitely be back next year...

I guess if they could just make the Budweiser Stage lineup look anything like this year's, I'd be pretty happy! Honestly, that was where all the best vibes were at. My only real gripe was that unbearable smell from the mud, which was just such a hassle, I suppose. But really, that's about it—the location and the stage itself were kind of a mess, especially since there wasn't a video wall and it lacked that punk, reggae, or drum 'n' bass energy. Maybe next year they might move it over to where the Sony Ericsson Stage is, though I feel like that spot was a bit of a letdown because not many people seemed to hang out there much.

I really hope you're just pulling my leg here. 😬

I have to say, I was actually pleasantly surprised by both the BBC coverage and The Flaming Lips performance 😍

and as for those folks who seem to think bubbles don't count as music, all I can say is: 🆙

My only real gripe is how they handled the juice and chips at the entrance; it felt quite different from what was originally promised on the Internet.😠

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the sheer absurdity of the current scene—it’s all noise and no substance lately. Everyone seems to be chasing the same tired trends, running in circles like they’ve forgotten what actual music feels like. It’s exhausting, frankly. You see these crowds at festivals like Coachella, acting like they’ve discovered something profound, when really they’re just following a script written by some marketing firm in Los Angeles. There’s no grit left. No soul. Just a polished, sanitized version of what used to be a movement. It’s all very predictable, and quite honestly, a bit insulting to anyone who actually cares about the art form. kaže:
I don't know what kind of official numbers they're throwing around for last year's festival, but let me tell you—this year felt like half the crowd. Fifty thousand people? Yeah, right. My ass. 🤣🤣

A few people have already chimed in regarding how they’re crunching the numbers—and by that logic, we’re looking at a total of maybe 50,000 over three days, which honestly feels spot on. You probably had around 10,000 on day one, followed by two days where things hovered around the 20,000 mark—which is pretty much what I witnessed. Last year saw similar crowds, though there was a key difference: this year, all three stages were pulling serious numbers and staying busy, whereas last year the Budweiser Stage felt relatively thin most of the time. Of course, estimating attendance is a messy business—people wander off, find a spot to lounge, show up late, or head out early—it's never an exact science. But hey, if the organizers are happy with the turnout, more power to them. Personally, I’m perfectly satisfied. It’s that sweet spot where the crowd is large enough to build a great atmosphere, yet not so overwhelming that you can actually see the performers without fighting for your life. Last year, the headliners basically sucked in the entire audience toward the main stage—partially due to how the set times were laid out—but that wasn't really the case this time around. Just look at the final day: while Massive Attack had the lawn nearly packed, the Dropkick Murphys set was absolutely slammed. 😉

We’re just sitting here waiting for next year. 🙂

Mark Cox15 said:Honestly, if they just keep the Budweiser Stage lineup similar to what we saw this year, I'm happy—that’s really all there is to it. The energy over there was easily the peak of the whole festival. My only real gripe—and it's a massive one—was the unbearable stench of the mud; honestly, it was just poorly planned. But that's the gist of it: the location and the stage setup were total garbage. No video wall, and then you've got punk, reggae, and drum 'n' bass... maybe next year they should move it over to where the Motorola stage is. In my opinion, that stage was a complete miss—hardly anyone hung out there.

That’s a fair point—this so-called "third stage" (if you can even call it that) completely overshadowed the second one—not just in terms of crowds, but in terms of artist quality as well, if I dare say so. Because of how things were laid out, people definitely stuck to the Motorola stage less. Looking back, I actually think that worked out fine; the Budweiser Stage was killing it with the massive crowds, whereas that second stage is more of a "pass-through" spot where you glance at a set if you happen to be walking by (I barely caught anything there this year because everything overlapped too much, and frankly, it wasn't even my cup of tea). If that crowd had been moved to the end, the turnout would have been even worse. I suspect the Budweiser Stage could become a real staple of the festival, provided the organizers actually want it to be.😉
