Man, I am dying to see: LCD Soundsystem and Underworld! 🙂
I’m telling you, LCD Soundsystem and Underworld... that would be everything. 🙂
Seriously though, just give me LCD Soundsystem and Underworld! 🙂

Portishead?
Oh my god, PORTISHEAD?

I wish! 🙂

I honestly don't know where to start with this one—it’s just one of those things that stays stuck in your head like a bad song you can't turn off. It’s funny how we all collectively decide to act like certain things are groundbreaking when, in reality, they're just more of the same noise wrapped in shiny packaging. It’s like expecting a different flavor from a fast-food chain after you've eaten there every day for a decade—you know exactly what's coming, yet you still find yourself sitting there, staring at the bag, wondering why you bothered. There’s a certain level of predictability in everything lately that feels almost exhausting, if you think about it too much. You start seeing the patterns everywhere, the same recycled ideas, the same tired tropes, and you just end up feeling sort of... detached. It's less about being angry and more about that quiet, heavy realization that the novelty has worn thin. We’re all just circling the same drain, pretending it’s a new ride every single time. kaže:
So, I’m hearing whispers that we might actually see Arcade Fire, Foo Fighters, Portishead, and Fatboy Slim on the lineup—supposedly "confirmed" at this point. Honestly, if they pull it off, it sounds like a hell of a weekend, though I've been burned by these "leaks" enough times to know better than to get my hopes up just yet.🙂

Well, that went south fast—everything just completely fell apart. 😁

At least the 22nd and 23rd are holidays...😁

This MTV thing could actually be huge.

As far as I'm concerned? Get the Chemical Brothers or Fatboy Slim on the bill—it's not like Fatboy Slim won't be touring near here since he's playing in Austria on June 17th.

If I had to pick, Portishead is definitely the band I'd die to see live—though honestly, Arcade Fire is right up there at the top of my list too... so 🙂

All four of those acts are playing at Lollapalooza or Coachella just a few days before the big show, and if you look back at last year, we had both Massive Attack and LCD Soundsystem hitting those festivals AND the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival..
Even Geoff Barrow from Portishead was posting on Twitter saying, "We’re doing some split headline shows with Arcade Fire next year, I’m really looking forward to it..proper band!!" which basically guarantees we'll see them sharing a festival stage again soon.
Also, Kenneth Collins8 looks like quite the insider! He actually posted about the Swansa reunion and a concert in Washington, D.C. on this forum way before it ever became official or even happened 😁

Personally, I would jump at the chance to catch Underworld and Fuck Buttons again 🙂 but let's be real—they'd probably show up at a major US fest like Coachella long before they'd ever play something like the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

Arcade Fire or Foo Fighters? I’m happy with either 🙏, though bringing in bands that massive feels like a bit too much right now...

That’s great news (assuming it's actually true) for Foo Fighters and Fatboy Slim, since I unfortunately missed them last year.
System of a Down would be a win too, I guess. 😁😁

edit: someone on the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival wishlist wrote down Rammstein... how? Yes and no, I guess. 😁
There are probably better people than us here, haha.

urbannomad30 said:+ kenneth collins8 is kind of a big deal, honestly. he predicted the Swansa reunion and their show here in Washington, D.C. way before it actually went down/is going down 😁

...look, I'm no big shot, just someone who loves music. It’s all just a mix of being obsessed with the stuff and knowing Michael from Swansa... I really owe a lot to the people putting on shows for "alternative" bands like Swansa—especially Mati Skugora... seriously, you have to pull all that off basically on a bicycle... 😉 ...as for Swansa playing in D.C., don't even doubt it... once they set a date...

At least we got Soundgarden; I'll take my wins where I can get them. 😁😁

there are plenty of people more capable than us here, haha.

Please—people aren't being realistic at all. They don't think. I've seen Metallica and Bruce Springsteen mentioned, along with all sorts of bands that have zero chance of playing Coachella. The Foo Fighters come up a lot, but honestly, they're probably too expensive for a festival like this.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. They were great when I saw them at Coachella.
But I doubt it happens...

I mean, seriously, you have to be a total powerhouse to organize all of this on a shoestring budget...😉 ...but as for Swans playing in Washington, D.C., don't you dare doubt it... there’s definitely a date in the works...

No doubt about it, I am absolutely counting down the days until the 🙂
concert!
Alright, so you aren't a big shot, you just happen to know some big shots! 😁

I guess it feels a bit premature for them to swing back around so soon after being here 😁, especially since it hasn't even been a full year yet.
To be fair, they’re touring Europe in June, and there’s usually a gap between the 18th and the 30th.
🤷

Although, they're touring through Europe in June and have a gap between the 18th and the 30th.
🤷

Sony Music is known for recycling acts that have already played in the States—so it wouldn't be shocking if this happens again this year. Still, expecting names like Metallica, Rammstein, or Bruce Springsteen to headline a festival like this is a stretch. Personally, I think even the Foo Fighters are overpriced.

Here’s my lineup for next time:
-Fever Ray—I caught them live once, but honestly, wouldn't it be incredible to see them a thousand times over?
-Daft Punk
-Florence + The Machine
-Bat for Lashes
-Robyn
-Hurts
...

I think Arcade Fire is a safe bet, and FF isn't far off either.))

The saddest part is that the organizers are clearly just playing it safe and trying to find some "sweet spot." They want enough people to show up so they make money, but they also want bands that are actually trending.

Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Tool (new album dropping soon), System of a Down, Manic Street Preachers, Placebo, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age (new album coming soon too), etc., etc...
