Looks incredibly clean and aesthetically pleasing 😁
but seriously, does anyone actually see a measurable difference in temps when running one fan versus two on the chassis?

Once I get rid of this load imbalance on the left side, the temps drop by about 5 or 6 degrees... honestly... I just finished recalibrating everything else because things were running way too loud while it was all active😁 now it's just the fans spinning on this old junker 🙂

5-6 damn, that’s frustrating... I was really looking forward to getting some first-hand info because I read somewhere that there wasn't much of a difference even after installing a second vent..
Anyway, why on earth is it getting so hot underneath this old junker? 😬

I'm currently running an i7 920...but I've got something a bit beefier arriving in about two and a half weeks 🙂
You can find what I did under the overclocking/3DMark06 section...I posted my scores there

Kudos on the build, man! 😁
A few quick questions for you:😁
1. In your opinion, how thick should I go with the acrylic sheeting?
2. What kind of budget am I looking at just for the plexiglass itself?

Around 3-4mm.

How thick does the plexiglass need to be if I’m building a custom case from scratch? It’s gotta hold a motherboard, two GPUs, and a heavy metal radiator—this thing is going to be a beast.

Here is how things are looking right now... honestly, painting the interior makes such a massive difference to the overall vibe..

Alright, I've got a mid-tower case, a Corsair. Specifically, this model.
Inside, I have the motherboard, CPU, GPU, one HDD, an optical drive, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 on the CPU, a Miyamoto Musashi on the GPU, one 12cm fan in the front, and one 9cm fan on the left side (looking from the front). All in all, there are a lot of wires; the PSU is a Xilence RedWing 580, which isn't modular, so there are cables flying everywhere. I've tried to manage the wiring as best I can by taping them to the walls and tucking them away, but it still looks pretty messy.
I've looked at some guides on how to tidy up cables, but my biggest issue right now is that the motherboard tray extends across the entire right side of the case (again, looking from the front), meaning I can't tuck the wires anywhere without them being visible.

What I want to do is measure the space to the right of the motherboard and drill a hole there so I can route the wires behind the tray. How feasible is this? What kind of tools would I need? I assume the case is aluminum.

Here's a photo to clarify:

If we assume the blue lines mark the edges of the motherboard, then I would cut out the section marked in red. Obviously, it would look cleaner than this sketch. I'm not using the vent area because it's impractical for me, and please ignore the dust and the wires—I was running some experiments while my parents were out xD

Do you have any other advice? Anything else I should keep in mind?

If you want to cut through that, you’re gonna need a jigsaw and just give it some muscle 🙂

Zachary Wilson30: what kind of GPUs are sitting in there? 😁

Is there seriously nothing else anyone wants to add? lol

I got something to say. Don't even think about using a jigsaw—use a rotary tool or a Dremel instead. Yeah, I know that Corsair metal is thick, but a jigsaw vibrates way too much. You're just gonna end up wrecking the whole thing...

Alright, great. It would have been even better if I actually knew what that was. 😕 😁
I'm definitely no expert; I usually just settle for asking things like, "Hey man, do you know how we could..." or "Grandpa, do you happen to have that one thing..." xD

Edit: Okay, Google helped me out.

Zachary Wilson30, seriously, props to you—that build looks absolutely incredible!🙂
I went ahead and gave my own "junk pile" a fresh coat of paint—and, uh, I might have drilled a few extra holes for cable management... oops! Here’s the shot:
James Morris4, if I could offer a little tip—maybe don't drill such massive holes in one spot? It might be better to just make small, specific openings exactly where you need them—like for the 24-pin connector, for instance.

Zachary Wilson30, what did you use to paint the case? Was it automotive paint or something else?

Automotive paint? Yeah, look, it’s actually pretty straightforward if you have even a modicum of an eye for it. Personally, I've messed around with this kind of stuff before, so for me, it was a total walk in the park... but even if you're tackling it for the very first time, it shouldn't really be a massive hurdle to clear.
