I was honestly floored when I saw that fourth picture from the bottom; I genuinely thought that’s how it was going to look 🤦
I'm usually a huge fan of orange, but this specific shade is just screaming at me—it’s way too loud. It would definitely look better if you could tone it down a bit a notch.
That being said, it doesn't actually look bad 😉.

One thing though—is it just my imagination, or did you build this whole thing on an open-air test bench without a case?!

I kept the components out while I was working on the case. Once everything was finished and completely dry, I just put everything back in exactly how it was before.

That’s just how you do it! There isn't any other way about it, at least not from where I'm standing.

It’s just simple, elegant—and I have to say, I really dig it 🙂.

So, what's the deal with the mod here?

My comment was specifically regarding the case 🙂.

As for what the mod... hmm... let's just wait for the owner to weigh in.

edit:
Maybe it's the cooling?! Honestly, you could just crack a window and call it a day 🤷.

First off, my old man didn't just hand this thing to me on a silver platter; I spent the entire summer grinding just to afford it, so maybe some little punks should pipe down with the unsolicited advice. Honestly, you might need to go stick a few manners stickers on yourself to learn some basic etiquette, because it’s pretty obvious nobody’s given you any attention in a long time. You’re acting like you own the place and think you’ve got a monopoly on all the intelligence in the world.
The mod is just the side panel—obviously, they need glasses—plus some minor tweaks for cable management that aren't even visible in the shot.

Maybe you should go stick some stickers on your forehead to learn some basic manners, because it's pretty obvious you haven't had a haircut in a long time. You two think you own the place and act like you're the smartest people on the planet.
The mod is the side panel—it's clearly custom, and they've done some small tweaks for cable management that you can't really see in the photo.

Honestly, you can't actually tell what the mod is just by looking at the case unless you say so, mostly because SO MANY cases come with transparent side panels. It would have been much better if you'd just posted some before and after shots or something.
Maybe work on your manners and your grammar first.

Way to go, James Morris4!!! I saw a site just like that at a shop near my place for $33!! Basically, I'll just grab it, toss it in, and handle the PC Modding myself 🤷

I’m a pretty chill guy until someone decides to push my buttons.

Man, you gotta be kidding me. You can find that stuff at a flea market; I’ve practically traded with old ladies at farmers' markets for a pound of homemade goat cheese for less than that.😁

What's the exact case model?
It looks pretty sleek in the photo, though I’m not sure if it actually holds up like that in person.
A buddy of mine owns this(just the gray version), and while it looks fantastic in pictures, it feels kind of "cheap" when you actually see it in real life.

Even Mike has finally jumped into the world of PC Modding.
I took this ancient, beat-up blue case and repainted it a vibrant, unapologetic blue.
It’s nothing groundbreaking—just a little hobby project—but hey, it works.
The process was straightforward: I stripped everything out of the case, sanded the surface down smooth, applied a solid primer, and then went in with the color. Honestly? It turned out great—looks like it came straight from the factory floor.
😁

I'll post some photos once I get some space on my SD card.
One quick tip, though—don't ever try painting indoors, especially if you're standing right next to white curtains... trust me on that one.😍

And honestly, lesson learned: never attempt painting indoors, especially not right next to white curtains...😍

I actually lost a few nights of sleep because I carried that thing into my room while the paint was still fresh... it was a total nightmare...

Well, I really blew it. I think the PC modding turned out great—you'll see what I mean in the photos—but I totally botched the color scheme. I went all-in on blue, when I really should have stuck with black or some other neutral shade that actually works as a base for other colors.
I’ve already picked up some black paint, so we’re going to touch this thing up and fix it.

My latest project 😁

It isn't exactly PC Modding, but it is still modding. I came across some interesting guides online. I wanted to build a test PSU—something I could use for testing fans, showing off some LED lights on the fans, and playing around with some low voltage stuff.

A friend gave me this crappy 400W power supply, a real piece of junk hardware that I wasn't even sure would work 🤣

The plan was basically something like this:
image
Of course, why build a test power supply without doing a little bit of customizing? 😁

image
Then the cutting started. I stripped everything out and found the wires I needed. I took the green one (to signal that the "PC" is powered on) from the ATX bundle and a black one (any black one) for ground. I had to trim them down a bit for better aesthetics and ease of use, then join them together.

image
Messy.
The fan from the PSU was connected using red and black wires. Usually, the red wire in a power supply is 5V, but since I wasn't certain if that was the case for the fan, I played it safe and connected it to a yellow (12V) one. The photo basically shows everything I put together.

All in all, here is how it looks now:

That circle in the middle was a bit tricky; my scalpel didn't quite cooperate. 😁
