I think it really depends on which specific medication you're talking about... for instance, a newer drug like Trintellix is meant to be taken exclusively in the evening right before sleep... but as far as I know, most older generations of antidepressants, including things like Zoloft or Lexapro, are typically taken in the morning...

Feverin, he’s also an older medication...
My doctor suggested taking it at night, and even though the instructions explicitly say to take it in the evening, it just won't let me sleep when I do. 😢
But then again, maybe it’s just my body trying to adjust to everything, since I've only been on it for about eleven days now...

I think that’s just down to the body getting used to it...

And I suppose I’ll just keep pressing on with this approach for now, so we shall see how things settle after a month has passed 🙂

Well, sure, you can do that—provided you don't mind dealing with the side effects during the day.

hmmm... I was told that I should take Feverin strictly before bed because it interacts quite strongly with things like Xanax or Mirapex, which supposedly intensifies the effect. Now, if you're still feeling terrible despite taking what you thought was the right dose, I suppose you might be able to take it in the morning... but honestly, you really need to run all of this by your doctor. Look, my doctor gave me an earful today just because I hadn't specifically asked if I could take Feverin and Elicea at the exact same time—which I did—and my blood pressure nearly bottomed out to 80/60 and I felt absolutely awful. She was furious, so please, just call them and ask. Seriously, let us breathe here; every single person's body reacts differently. Just make the call and ask... IT'S BEST TO DO THAT.

I somehow managed to run completely out of my AD, my antipsychotics, and my Normabale over the holiday break... basically everything.🙂 I suppose I was being a bit of an idiot by not accounting for how many days the clinics would actually be closed.
When I finally see my nurse, she’s probably going to look at me and think, "Did you really run out of every single thing, or are you just trying to hawk Normabale on the street corner?"🤣

But honestly, guys, running out of an antidepressant is terrifying... you fall right back into that heavy depression I used to feel when I was stuck in those psych wards, which feels almost as gut-wrenching as running out of Heparin.

Ever since they switched me from Feverin to Eliquis, I've been in such a massive slump; nothing brings me joy anymore... not even sleep🙄 I am just so incredibly fed up with this nonsense

I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't spend money on anything... Just the antipsychotic and a 0.5 dose of Xanax. Took it at 8:30 AM and slept straight through until 4 PM. 😲
In my case, it actually worked because no matter how much sleep I get at night, I’m always wiped out and drowsy during the day. But is this sleeping thing just going to be my life now?!

Xanax is only "charming" like that during the initial stages, especially when you pair it with antipsychotics, which, more often than not, have a sedative effect as well.
If I were in your shoes, I would suggest taking it only on an as-needed basis—you know, specifically when you're feeling anxious or similar symptoms—and honestly, even dropping down to 0.25 mg might be wise given that you haven't built up a tolerance yet. Of course, you absolutely need to clear that approach with your psychiatrist first.

You can't be that exhausted just from an antipsychotic alone; the Xanax is likely just cranking up that drowsiness even further.

Thanks for the reply, I’m seriously out of it 🙂 and I had no idea antipsychotics could knock you out like this. I'm still new to all of this, even if my symptoms make me feel like a veteran 😁

Last night I only took half a Xanax, and did the same thing this morning.

Which AP are you on, and what's your dosage?

Zeldox, 80 mg total per day.

And I've got Xanax prescribed at 0.5 mg three times a day.

I can barely function right now. I skipped my afternoon dose, and this morning I only managed half of it. Now I still have to get myself and the kids ready for tomorrow and shove them into bed.🙂

I read the info on the medication here.
It’s definitely making you drowsy.
Usually, you feel a bit sleepy while your body adjusts to the Prozac, but if it doesn't let up, you should check in with your doctor.

There are people here who have experience taking this.

I was on Zeldox once too... I barely made it three weeks before I had to stop. It's just brutal; it completely wipes you out and makes you so sleepy. I’d show up to work at 8:00 AM and be heading back home to nap by 9:30.
Honey, that’s definitely the Zeldox talking... if it's hitting you that hard, maybe try asking your doctor about switching to a different antipsychotic.

One of my main issues was being incredibly drowsy. After I slept all day the other day (woke up at 4 PM 😁), I skipped my morning dose of Xanax and felt fine. This current "Zeldox sleepiness" is nothing compared to how tired I used to feel.

I’m trying to follow the rules regarding meds, so I'll definitely tell my doctor today what I did with my Xanax dosage. Hopefully, this drowsiness doesn't get any worse.

It's probably best if you check in with your doctor.

For me, the Zeldox had me sleeping almost non-stop for three weeks straight... I was pulling 16-hour days... I couldn't even think or hold a conversation.... but that's just me... maybe it works differently for you... ask your doctor for some advice.

It seems to me like I might have to go looking for her advice, especially if she thinks it's acceptable to take ☕ my dose later in the afternoon. Can anyone tell me if that actually helps calm nerves generally, or does it work on a completely different principle than Ativan? I don't want to go down a rabbit hole right now...

From what I understand, Xanax, Helex, and Misar all belong to the same class of drugs...
