Susan Edwards8 said:So, I was on Eglonyl twice a day—around 200mg each time, I think—and I’d take Paxil in the mornings too. Honestly? It worked fine for me, at least until the side effects started kicking in. I was on that combo for maybe two months or so. Dealing with that whole depressive-anxiety mix, you know how it goes.

I don't have any personal issues with Eglonyl either, though I'd likely pair it with another antidepressant. What kind of side effects did you end up dealing with?

I suppose I should chime in here as well... It’s actually been such a beautiful day today, and I managed to get some decent sleep, so I’m feeling quite upbeat—no headaches and none of that usual drowsiness. If only every single day were like this 😢. As for my progress, I haven't seen any dramatic shifts since we last spoke; I’ve been strictly following my regimen. I have to schedule a follow-up appointment tomorrow to see if they’ll put me back on antipsychotics, though honestly, who knows which doctor they're going to assign to me this time? Is it even normal for them to switch my physician every other visit? I think I’m just going to insist on staying with my previous one; I really don't feel like explaining my entire history over and over again to some new person every time I walk in.

Eglonyl completely trashed my cycle, gave me breakouts, and even made my breasts swell up and leak🙄, plus that Seroxat had me in a total fog for the first two weeks—just constant nausea and drowsiness. I couldn't eat, couldn't watch TV, couldn't even pick up a book... I just slept through everything.

Today has been absolutely miserable. Does anyone have any advice? Ever since I woke up, I’ve just been feeling incredibly angry and dissatisfied. I haven't even managed to get out of bed before 1:00 PM, and this mood is still hanging over me. I honestly feel like my life has no purpose and I don't even want to bother living it... what the hell is wrong with me? 😢

I’ve started a new medication regimen: Seroxat 1 tablet in the morning and Fevarin half a dose in the evening. I also have Misar SR 1 mg and Helex 0.25 mg on hand to take as needed.

I finally managed to get my psychiatrist to prescribe it—had to fight tooth and nail because Zyprexa, Everbio, Risperdal, and Seroquel made me pack on over 90 pounds.
So far, I haven't noticed any side effects other than some mild drowsiness (which I don't even really feel), though apparently, people with heart conditions should stay away from it.
It doesn't cause weight gain at all; in fact, it actually kills my appetite so much that I’ve already dropped 11 pounds in just seven days. I'm still taking Zeldox 120 mg on the side.

I've been on it myself... for quite a while now. It isn't prescribed very often, though, mostly because doctors tend to default to Zyprexa, and since I was struggling with being overweight, my specialist switched me over to Zeldox.
You mentioned how it kills your appetite. I feel the exact same way... I just don't have any desire to eat. But honestly, anorexia could be a potential side effect, so you might want to watch out for that! It seems like a solid medication, but it's definitely potent.

I feel for you. Honestly, I rarely have days quite this bad, but I truly hope that for those of you struggling, your medication provides at least some relief from that awful sensation. Yesterday, I just stayed in bed, took a nap, and then went for a walk with my grandmother, which helped a little bit. Today, however, is just... standard. Neither good nor bad, just nothing. I am incredibly unmotivated. It's just garbage.

Well, please do let me know how you settle in with the Wellbutrin, because I’m actually taking that myself. I'd be quite interested to hear about any side effects or anything else you might notice... 😉

I should have a full report ready for everyone in just a few days. 😉

Well, if I’m being honest, it felt like a bit of an ordeal at first, but for me, almost all of those side effects—well, nearly all of them, really—seemed to just dissipate after about two weeks had passed.

Lately, I’ve been dealing with this intense, knotty anxiety sitting right in my stomach. It’s a cocktail of financial stress, the absolute headache of hunting for a new apartment, and this nagging fear that I’m going to miscalculate something vital again—you know, like trying to tuck yourself under a heavy duvet but failing to cover your feet and ending up freezing. It’s that paralyzing dread regarding making decisions.
But I can handle it; I know I have the capacity. Though, if you want to know when I feel most vulnerable?
It’s when someone calls me out or tears me down. That feeling of, "You should have known better, why didn't you act?" It lingers. Right now, my nerves are absolutely frayed. I haven't even had the chance to reach out to my psychiatrist yet. I wonder if they'll suggest increasing the anxiolytics... currently, I'm just on Prozac and such.

I’m struggling to wrap my head around the distinction here—saying both Misar and Helix are "as needed" feels like describing two different tools for the exact same job.🤷

Honestly, this is complete nonsense—prescribing two different anxiolytics at once?! I mean, seriously... and apparently, this doctor is some kind of "expert" according to the MP3 recording.🙄

They are, though my doctor prescribed Misar SR, while the Helix 0.25 is just the standard version. To be honest, neither the Helix 0.25, nor Lexapro, nor Paxil ever really did much to calm me down. They were pretty ineffective for my anxiety, so she decided to put me on this Misar SR, with the instruction that if I feel it isn't quite enough, I can take a regular dose of Helix as well. I don't know; she strikes me as a true professional, and I was actually quite impressed by her during our first consultation.

I lost my period because of Eglonyl and had that same lactation issue, so they ended up taking me off it. As for the Paxil, I actually adjusted to it without any trouble. It was my first AD, though honestly, it didn't really do much for what I'm dealing with.

This Sunday feels like it's dragging on forever, and honestly, I'm just feeling completely hollow... blah.

About six or seven years ago, Paxil was essentially my lifeline. 🙂I've just started back on it two days ago, and so far, I haven't encountered any major side effects, aside from feeling quite drowsy and experiencing a bit of mild restlessness.

I've been on Cipralex for a few days now and honestly? Nothing positive to report. If anything, the side effects just cranked my anxiety up a notch. I’m getting hit with panic attacks basically every single time I step out the front door because I just don't feel safe. And of course, I have to head into Chicago this Tuesday—fun times—and then there's an EEG scheduled for Thursday, which will be even more lovely.

My doctor isn't seeing me until after April 24th since I still have to wrap up some other tests, so I'm really crossing my fingers that these pills actually start working. Right now, I just feel worse than I did before I started them. I read through the manual and, aside from the spiked anxiety and this constant feeling of depersonalization, I haven't had any other issues. So, I'm genuinely hoping the weirdness fades. On Tuesday, I'm moving up to the full dose in the morning, so things are about to get messy. But whatever.

To be honest, this caught me off guard. When I was on Paxil, I didn't deal with any side effects at all, though that wasn't doing much for my mood either. Maybe Cipralex is just pushing me "deeper" into the hole so it can eventually pull me back out later? 🙂
Not sure if that makes sense to anyone besides me. 🤣

It makes perfect sense to me, especially since you've only been on it for a few days. It still needs time to fully settle into your system. I've taken similar medications before (Paxil and Cipralex are really the only ones I've tried so far), and I ended up being quite satisfied with them.
