fadedbear92 said:What dose are you taking to get some sleep? It sounds way too low—honestly, my cousin told me that with APs, you can actually bump up the dosage without having to worry about getting hooked.

I was prescribed 25 mg, but last night I ended up taking 50+50 and I still woke up after only four hours...

Amyzol comes in 25mg, and if I recall correctly, there isn't even another strength available... but when you take three or four of those, you just stay completely knocked out and nothing wakes you up. Honestly, I feel like I might need to check into a hospital for a while. I failed my classes at college, so I have the time, and maybe they'll just pump me full of massive doses; hopefully, that actually makes things better....

I’ve been reading that Cipramex can be pretty rough on the stomach, but is it possible for it to start causing issues only after two months of use? I’m starting to deal with some stomach pains lately...

I'm on Navecet at 10mg four times a day, and frankly, you guys scaring me about poisoning is getting old😢.
It does absolutely nothing for my sleep. Not for falling asleep, not for the quality of it. Either the impact of Maltene is just too subtle for me to notice, or it's just not working.
As far as Anafranil goes, it's been great, though on the other hand 🙂

Well, if that's your prescribed therapy, I guess there isn't much to be afraid of. People like you are always the most stubborn, though I suppose your doctor knows what you need and how much, right? And what kind of 10mg Amyzol is that anyway?😕 My doctor warned me about toxicity when I mentioned I was taking four at once.
I mean, how could you possibly not notice an effect? Maybe try biting a pill straight and you'll see how numb your mouth gets, let alone what it does to your brain... Unfortunately, they won't let me take more than one for sleep and as an antidepressant. It all feels like a joke trying to manage schizophrenia, especially when you're dealing with a whole family history of it and still getting these kinds of medications...

Anyone here dealt with this kind of combo before?

Been on Zoloft 50 mg for over three weeks now and... nothing. Zero movement. Hard to tell if the side effects are just part of the mess or actually the illness itself, but the worst part—besides the total lack of motivation and mood swings—is that I’ve lost all appetite and my sleep schedule is completely trashed.😢 My therapist suggested adding Odonazin (Remeron, Calixta) 15 mg at night to help with the hunger and sleep (she mentioned I could even split the pill). Anyone have experience with this setup? Honestly, I'm paranoid about being totally wiped out... even basic Neofen used to knock me sideways back when I was on that other crap.😲
Any insights would be huge.🙂

What would it look like? They're blue and weaker than the 25mg blue ones. Google is your friend.

"People like you are the best"? Wow, love the tone. Truly. I'm just here like everyone else, quoting other people's experiences. My bad for quoting and addressing your highness. 👋

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with this kind of combo therapy:

I’ve been on 50 mg of Zoloft for a little over three weeks now, and honestly, I haven't felt much of a change. It's tough to tell if the side effects are just part of the illness itself, but what’s really killing me—aside from the lack of improvement in my mood and energy—is that I have zero appetite and my sleep schedule is completely trashed.😢 Now my therapist suggested adding 15 mg of Odonazin (Remeron, Calixta) at night to help with the sleeping and eating (she mentioned I could even take half a dose). Has anyone tried this or something similar? I'm mostly worried about feeling totally wiped out—even basic Neofen used to make me feel super drowsy back before all this mess started.😲
I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences.🙂

I was taking 45mg of Calixta. For the first couple of months, it would absolutely knock me out the second I took it, but you can pick whatever time works for you; it doesn't strictly have to be 9 PM.
As for the appetite, I ended up gaining 26 pounds and I'm still going. Mind you, I was on a pretty high dosage.

Just chill out. I asked a perfectly polite question. I had never heard of there being a lower dose, which is why I was surprised...

I take 100 mg of Quetiapine to sleep—sometimes I bump it up to 150 because I wake up just as often—and I actually had a long talk with my shrink today. She mentioned she doesn't want to start me on any new sedatives right away, so we’re going to touch base again next time to figure out a plan.

amyzol comes in 25mg—I don't think there's even a higher dose...but if you take 3 or 4 of those, you're out cold and nothing can wake you up... though honestly, I feel like I might need to check into a hospital for a bit; I failed my classes, so I have the time, and maybe they'll just pump me full of massive doses and I'll finally feel better...

Wait, hold on—it says right there that it's a tricyclic antidepressant, not an insomnia med.
"Tricyclic antidepressants include medications like imipramine, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, and desipramine. They were widely used from the 1950s through the 1980s. Nowadays, they are considered a last resort when choosing the right antidepressant."

I was on 5 mg of Zoloft—which is basically an up-regulator—and honestly, it just keeps you wired. If you’re dealing with side effects like that, it clearly isn't working for you; at that point, you really need to look into switching up your medication.

😢 My therapist just suggested we try adding 15 mg of Mirtazapine—also known as Remeron or Calixta—to my nightly routine to help with sleep and appetite. She did mention I could even split the dose in half if needed. Has anyone here dealt with this kind of regimen before? Honestly, I'm a little nervous about the heavy sedation—even the most basic Neofen used to knock me out cold back in the day. 😲
I would be so grateful if anyone could share their experiences. 🙂

Unlike Zoloft, Calixta acts more like a "downer"—it has that sedative effect. It’s actually pretty similar to Faverin; that one is essentially an anxiolytic antidepressant, so it really helps you relax—great if you're dealing with anxiety.

Calixta is just Mirtazapine. ("Sedatives—they can be such a double-edged sword, honestly. The side effects essentially stem from how it acts as an H1-histamine receptor antagonist—plus, since it’s a moderate alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, there's that potential for low blood pressure.

Don't be afraid—this med might actually be exactly what you need since Zoloft is keeping you so wired.😉

I'm currently on 100 mg too, so you're lucky if you're getting anything better than that.

I don't know, but I remember once hearing a psychiatrist explaining things to a student, saying that it's actually quite effective both as an antidepressant and as a sleep aid.🤷

Hey everyone, I need some advice. I’ve been dealing with schizophrenia for 7 years now. I started on Zyprexa even before I was of legal age, but three years ago I just snapped and quit cold turkey. After that mess, they switched me over to that damn Zypadhera—the massive 405 mg dose every four weeks. Since then, the weight gain has been relentless. I’m sitting at a heavy 90 kg now. I’ve asked to go back on daily pills. Right now, I’m waking up around 2 or 3 PM every single day. My insomnia is terrible. I’m wondering if switching back to tablets would actually be better tolerated? Say, 10 mg a day. Here, the injection averages out to nearly 15 mg a day if you split the dose. My goal is to wake up earlier and stop packing on the pounds. I know it isn’t just about the meds—I have to put in the work too—but I really want to feel less hungry and less exhausted. When I was on tablets previously, I used to wake up around 4 PM, though it was dark by then during the winter. Maybe I’ve just become desensitized to them, so maybe the pills would hit harder now? Like, they wouldn't knock me out as much. What is the actual advantage of one method over the other? My psychiatrist is pretty conservative; she doesn't change her mind easily, though I've dealt with worse. Anyway, I only got the injection because I stopped taking my meds. So, what do you all suggest? Ideally, I'd love to hear from someone with experience or a professional. Thanks.

I have no intention of sleeping my life away and ending up weighing as much as an elephant.

Just take it when you hit the pillow, close your eyes, and you'll be out.🙂
My advice? Honestly, even a quarter might be too much for you.🙂

Alright, I see we're talking about Calixta. Does it cause any drowsiness the following day? I'm currently on a 15mg dose.

I'll let you know tomorrow... if I actually manage to wake up at some point😲 A lot of people mention heavy sedation and feeling wiped out the next day, but that should wear off after a while

I'm planning on taking 7.5 mg tonight—my doctor gave me 15mg but said I could start with half first

Hopefully this tiny dose helps me sleep and maybe fixes my appetite too

A quarter of 15 mg? Last time I tried an eighth, I think I slept for about 15 hours straight.😁
If you’re only taking it to deal with insomnia, dropping the dose actually works better for those histamine receptors—meaning you'll probably sleep way better.

My cousin swears the lowest effective dose for sleeping is just an eighth.

Get some good sleep, kid. Trust me, you'll want to.😍
