Relentless trolling

Every time I drop by an automotive thread on here, it’s the same old crowd of trolls. They don't even address the actual topic—they just spend all their energy attacking people in the comments. It's obvious what they're doing.

And none of it gets flagged. They just keep stirring the pot without any consequences...
I reported a massive pile of posts from user carevsin (look, we aren't friends, and he isn't anyone special to me, but still). I waited for a moderator to show up, but when they finally did, nothing had been done. I ended up posting twice in the thread myself because clearly anything goes—I probably deserve a warning just for speaking up. But there's zero reaction... everything stays exactly the same. I'm not the type to go sliding into moderators' DMs to play games; I want things handled publicly and transparently. So, please, just look at this thread, the direction it's taking, and the comments.

In my own post, I quoted every single one of those reported comments (none of them were even directed at me) just to prove they have absolutely nothing to do with the discussion. They are purely there to provoke other members and obsess over them.

The mods used to be able to wipe this kind of garbage away without needing to hand out warnings, so why on earth is this still sitting here?

Look, Nicholas Sullivan76, sorry for the delay in getting this sanction sorted out. The mods aren't out here playing favorites or protecting anyone—it just happened that things got backed up and we couldn't get to it fast enough. You admitted you stepped over the line with the forum rules, too, but since you aren't a repeat offender, we’re letting you off easy with a light penalty this time around.
